Omg if he's that stupid then these two deserve each other!

Gary   November 9th, 2009 4:52 pm ET

I, for one, am getting sick of all these criminals using health issues as a defense. Just because you have some stupid disorder, it does not justify your actios. This woman knew what she was doing and has her husband dupped. I wonder if this guy has any brains at all?

Mary   November 9th, 2009 8:03 pm ET

DITTO

diya   November 10th, 2009 4:41 am ET

it shows that hes standing by her through thick and thin, one thing that has survived only in the wedding vows these days but not through marriages. the husband may be gullible or he may be determined. either way he's sticking with her and i applaud him for that at least.

Noeleen   November 10th, 2009 9:46 am ET

Agree, Gary, but until such time that Criminal Defense attornies go back to doing exactly what they are supposed to do – defend the accused's constitutional right to a fair trial – and only that, this is what we're stuck with. It's all about the "win", the money and the fantasy of being the next F. Lee Bailey (pre-disbarrment) to them.

I sincerely think this guy is trying to save the last of his dignity, what is left of it, standing by this woman.

I believe she planned it from the get-go and played a very convincing con-game on him when she got home KNOWING she was caught.

That woman's stunt had nothing to do with "mental illness". It had to do with her greed, selfishness and unwillingness to be a responsible month and wife. She'd rather "party".

trish   November 10th, 2009 11:22 am ET

I think her and Teenyweinyhenney would make a good pair.

JPD   November 10th, 2009 12:03 pm ET

what is wrong with today's society? this woman is a slut and she deserves to be jailed!

really?   November 10th, 2009 2:24 pm ET

Got to love stupid people, they make everyone else look smarter.

Whitney   November 10th, 2009 3:07 pm ET

what is wrong with this guy!? she tried to drain him for $50k!!!! i would kick her to the curb. an "UNDIAGNOSED" bipolar disorder.....the b*&^$ could be fakin it...the husbands an idiot!!

Bannah   November 10th, 2009 9:22 pm ET

OMG–Not only is she done with her husband–she's downright dangerous for him to be around!

She says just shoot him–twice!
And when she got a little bit of remorse–her boyfriend says–com'n it's Reid, remember?

She doesn't even LIKE her own DH–he needs to let her go before he's the next one kidnapped cuz he just may not be lucky enough to be "rescued"!!!

tina   November 11th, 2009 12:48 am ET

I have bipolar disorder. I don't want to share some of the crazy things I have done. My husband stood by me through it all. She needs treatment. All I'm saying is that it is possible, so don't throw stones.

Dani from AZ   November 11th, 2009 1:17 am ET

I think that at this point she really didn't need to fake her own abduction if he is that gullible and whipped. She is probably reviewing his life insurance right now since the kidnapping didn't work...

Lorraine   November 11th, 2009 2:56 am ET

I'm bi-polar and would never do anything like this to my family.

I think she was excited by this low-life mechanic who at 25 doesn't know anything about life. He is now sitting in jail thinking "boy this is the dumbest thing I ever let myself get into", sure his Mom is so proud.

When she gets out of cushy "re-hab", throw the book at her and make her pay the costs of this nonsense!!

Brenda   November 11th, 2009 9:20 am ET

The world is becoming more & more irrational. People are becoming more desperate. Look at everything in the world today. There must be something in the water.

Theresa   November 11th, 2009 10:38 am ET

Get real. What do you think she was up to LOL. Nancy NEVER miss your show love you and the twins are adorable. I was hoping fpr one of your books. Keep up the good work loove you. Theresa

Russ   November 11th, 2009 11:37 am ET

Wow. You all speak with so much anger towards a situation you know little to nothing about.

Having lived with a Bi-Polar wife for the last 8 years I understand why he is backing her.

No one is saying she shouldn't be held responsible, merely providing an explanation as to WHY she committed this crime.

Josh   November 11th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

you say ur tired of criminals using the diease case and know what they are doing? how the heck would u know if you dont have a diease...you cant assume that someone knows what they are doing, especially if they have had a diease for over years...so stop complaining that you are somewhat normal..

Linda   November 11th, 2009 4:48 pm ET

What in the world would make this guy believe thins? By-polar had nothing to do with lying. He is either a "nut" himself or he has no
self-confidence. I know love is blind but this guy is blind, deaf and dumb.

courtney   November 11th, 2009 5:52 pm ET

what the living hell wrong with this guy is he an idoit or what? My daughter has bipolar. They are not the easiest people to live with. what do people do go on line and find out what type of mental disorder they drum it and use for a criminal defense or what? Some easy way to get off of a serious charge or what? The husband better sleep with his eyes open. She just might finish him off during the night.

L   November 11th, 2009 6:40 pm ET

Bipolar disorder can be a disabling psychiatric disorder – persons with the disorder may become delusional and, characteristically, are unaware of their own illness. (Everyone else can see something is seriously wrong.) I have seen persons in manic states exhibit very bizarre behaviors. I worked with a young man, from an affluent family, who bought a car, scheduled a trip to Europe, and bought expensive jewelry all in a few hours! So, give this poor woman break,

Jennifer   November 11th, 2009 6:51 pm ET

I think mental illness is really serious and if her own husband beleaves her that this was part of her illness then everyone eles should to.

Sharon Roache   November 11th, 2009 7:36 pm ET

She is the one whois Bipolar, seems to me the husband is the one who's in denial, the wife faked her own abduction simply because she wanted to get her thrillon with another man,and get away from her hubby.

Mike   November 11th, 2009 7:53 pm ET

I can't wait to see what he says when she hires someone to kill him! In fact, one can wonder if that's what the ransom money was to finance.

Misha   November 12th, 2009 11:20 am ET

If she wanted to get rid of her husband, she would be better off if she just filled for divorce. She would probably get more money that way. I wonder if there is a history of her mental illness, or is it just something her husband wants to believe. Sad story, and the victims are as usual: KIDS.
