Where is Shaniya's mother throughout all of this? We've seen her tormented Father; we've seen the mother's boyfriend; we've seen the aunt's ex-boyfriend...where is her Mother during all of this and why does it seem nobody is concerned about her absence? This IS the supposed last person to see the 5 year old before her abduction - who happens to also be the person that reported her "missing" to the authorities. Where is she?

First, I pray this little girl is not harmed in no fashion. NOW, why do we tolerate these kind of people that even on first time offense, whom has harmed a child. These predators should get death immediately. Once you know without a shadow of doubt you have the right person, let's give them death penalty and execute immediately. Save tax dollars. We have to send a message to these kind of people, we no longer will allow harm to our children. I believe all of those grown people in that house need to be arrested. In these times now, we have alot of loose mothers who rather have a man than protect their children. I believe in the Lord and there is a heaven and hell. Hell is their destination...

Let me see if I understand this... there's video footage of him holding this baby girl, he confessed to the kidnapping, but he hasn't said where she is.... This is clearly a case where torture should be okay, they should rip out his teeth and fingernails until he tells where that baby is.

Police needs to make the second man arrested talk and say where is the litle girl he has to talk and save this inocent child. Yes, since I heard about Shaniya's mother story that was my very first thought, Police needs to act fast and arrest the mother as a principal suspect in this case becouse I believe that she knows a lot in her daughter dissapearence, and if I was The Police I would do whatever it takes to make the suspect to talk and say where is the child

This looks like drugs are involved. When people are caught up with drugs, insane behavior follows. What in the world goes on in that house? Where is the mother? No one is talking about her absence in talking about her missing child. This case is very confusing, and gets more complicated as it continues. So many actors involved – boyfriends, baby's father, no mother, siblings, etc. I am sure law enforcement has MUCH more information, as well it should be, but still it drives me crazy. By the way, this is America and we live under the Constitution, so everyone is innocent until proven guilty. And immediate execution could NEVER happen – better to imprison for life without parole.

Why haven't they released the video of the suspect leaving the hotel? Was Shaniya with him when he left the room? If she was with him when he left what was her condition? Was she covered up where the camera couldn't tell if she was alive or dead?

I truly believe this situation is ridiculous and uncalled for. What mother in the right mind would leave her 5 year old asleep in the living room at 5:30 in the morning alone.With a group of people which she is not that in tuned with and why would she be there When she would have been with the mother else. Such as her bed room? If there was or has been drug problems in this residence ever before. Then why wasn't this child removed from the house? This mother seems to be very irresponsible and unfit. Mothers should make there children their priorities.Actually any parent would have known better. No matter what if you are good parents situations like this are unneeded and inexcusable! From the video looks like the perp left the hotel and went to get his hair done. On video it is fluffy in the court it is twisted.

Possibly with someone else in the room that he had maybe sold Shaniya that left with her. Have police checked other rooms? Maybe room close by maybe even connecting and then that person checked out shortly after. Is there a record of anyone else checking out shortly later, within that day

i really hope that they find this child. i have also come to see that this baby looks like the guy that has kidnapped her. by me saying this yes i believe that this is his child and the mother isnt telling it all. i also have a biracial daughter that is 6 years old. the mother needs to speak out and tell all so this man can tell everyone where this child is. Shaniya was living in a trailer that the occupants were not allowed to return to because of sewerage flowing into it. Mom's boyfriend is HIV positive...the pictures of the trailer itself with it's windows hanging off...Maybe the man who kidnapped Shaniya was taking her to a safer and better life.

I would cut off his private parts unless he told where she was....its as simple as that. I would put him in a strapped down bed and get out a dull knife. That would make him talk. Why would this guy admit to 'kidnapping' her if he already knew her to be dead? It almost seems as if he feels safe admitting he took her. If he knew she was not alive... surely he would KNOW that there is the possibility they will find the body... and that by admitting he took her he would become the first person they would blame for killing her as well.

Okay, Shaniya doesn't look frightened when in the arms of this man. She doesn't seem uncomfortable... perhaps because she knows him? There is much more to this story. She is with people that know her and love her. I FEEL IT. I hope this story has a happy ending though.

The house seems to be crowded and Its obvious to me mom and the boyfriend were performing adult acts and didn't want a child to witness them and put the child in a place she thought was safe for her in her home. I am confused, The father of the child and the mother are white and baby Shaniya seems like a mixed race, the kidnapper does have some resemblance to the little girl, specially the eyes. She seemed to know him as she was not scared.Could he have kipnapped her and given to famly members ? and hopefully she is safe and not hurt and that is why he admitted to kidnapping her.

My theory on missing Shaniya is she was sexually injured, then kidnapped to hide the evidence. She may have possibly been transferred to a friend or relative for clean up and medical recovery.

Let's hope and pray she is still with us.

Okay this Dad is all tears now, but where has he been all this time in another state while she was left to lay in her feces while OCS has frequently investigated. Just the fact that the mom hasn't given an interview pleading for her baby to be returned shows what a low life piece of trash she is. Hopefully Shaniya will be found and her dad actually cares enough to get custody. Also how can aunt's boyfriend turn himself in and admit he kidnapped her and then plead not guilty. so i have been watching this from day one and a million ways of how i think this story could play out ...aftr looking at NC DOC and reviewing mario wrap sheet and then finding out when shaniya birthday is (feb 12,2004)....there is a time when mario is not in prision were he could posible be her father...hey i know it sounds crazy and yes her father was on the t.v pleading for her return but how many times have you seen maury and the man "thought" he was the baby daddy and turns out he wasnt...we still have no idea what her mom looks like shaniya looks like she is mixed with something and the mario guy just recently got out of prision I mean he has admitted to taking the girl but pleading "not guilty"...if the man on t.vshe shaniya dadand is from out of town then its possible shaniya mom has moved away and come back to fayetteville and mario just found her and thought that he was shaniya dad and removed the girl from the house...hey i know this is a far fetched idea but and i am NOT DEFENDING ANYONE just wondering were shaniya is i know we have all probably had 500 ideas of who,what,where,and when and this is (excuse the spelling long day)

This sounds like a family feud, the one side is passing the kid around
enough to confuse the police, What they are hoping for is her Dad can
not wait around forever and go home, then when he goes home, the
child will be "returned " to the mother, and make the kidnappers look
like "heros", but I believe the child is being "abused" as she is passed

I hope they find her, and I think that the guy who turned himself in just passed her on to another criminal. If they do find her, they need to put her with two parents who will take care of her, because obviously there is more focus on the family's relationship with these criminal men than there is on the child. I have just watched the show. They show the guy signing into the hotel and getting on elevator, they dont have video of him leaving. Did he leave her with another guest at the hotel before he even left. Nancy Grace show (people) say he was heading in certain direction and must have dropped her past the hotel someplace. Why would he only check into a hotel for little while in the first place. Maybe he sold her to somebody who staying as guest. The mom may have owed him money for drugs also. The police arent saying how he got into the house in first place. Who let him in?T

I am praying that this little girl will be found alive and unharmed. More people need to come forward and fast before she falls into the wrong hands and becomes just another statistic. Someone knows exactly where this little girl is and they are as guilty as the person or persons who abducted Shaniya. I think all of you need to find out the facts before you start convicting people. Mr. Coe pleaded not guilty to the kidnapping charges. If he was so guilty why did they let him go. The real kidnapper turned himself in and admitted he kidnapped the little girl. Now what the focus needs to be on him to tell where he took the little girl. Me personal I think theres more to this story that is be said. I feel like RG of PA. wher is the mother during all of this? Why is she not in the publics eye crying for her daughter?

When I first read this newest info my first thought is Why did he go strait to a hotel. I believe that this guy had molested the baby before and when he seen her that morning his first thoughts were of her. He knew the family was home so he would have to take her. He drove strait to a hotel and did what his intentions were. The fact that he was found and she was not is not a good sign. After all he couldnt just take her back home with no questions asked. I also think since he spent little time with her in the room that he was quick to finish the job that day. God bless this baby. Jessie, I think your on to something there. Mom isn't talking and that really screams guilty. I don't know if mom had custody or maybe just visitation. It has been stated that DHS was no stranger to the home. Also it's been said that there has been custody issues. Looks to me that it very possibly could be a set up. Maybe mom staged the kidnapping and thought if she could hide her for a while, then when things settle down and people arent so actively looking for her then she will just happen to move and be reunited with the child and no one is the wiser. It's deffinatly a possibility.

I totally blame the state for this poor innocent girl. DSS was called to this house numerous amounts of times for drugs, fighting, etc. Why aren't these poor children removed from these neglected homes?! Her father, Bradley Lockhart, was anxious Friday night to hear any news about his missing daughter as he waited in his Fayetteville home with friends and family members. He said his daughter had lived with him for the past three or four years. He let her live with her mother, Antoinette Davis, about three weeks ago because she had found a place to live and had held a job for six months, he said.

"I just wanted her to be a mother," he said. "She was never part of her life."

First off I pray that this baby is found alive. I have so many questions with this case its just not adding up. How within an hour or so someone can enter your house and no one hears nothing, and why the mother hasn't been given a poly test? The image at the hotel shows that the girl feels secure at least in the image and I wonder what role this man places in the child mom's life. I know he is the sister to the mom's boyfriend but the child looks to be bi-racial and the interiew of father asking for her safe return she does not look anything like that man. I have a strange feeling that the mother is hiding something the child seems to look multi-racial there is something she's not saying and if she can't be found now that means she has something to hide. The hotel elevator caption made me sick. If the camera capture this picture while entering the hotel it speaks volumes. Shaniya legs looked like she was tightly holding them together. Which tells me this has happened before and she knew it was about to happen once again. I could almost see a daze fear on this baby's face.

Time is crucial. And they have the abductor but still no sign of Shaniya? I am hoping there is a lot of information not being released to the media yet. They are not even mentioning what this man is saying. Is he refusing to speak? Is he denying that he knows where she is? How can he turn himself in yet not tell us where the child is? Where is the mother? This is all too bizzare. I am praying that they find this child alive somewhere...

I hate to sound like money is the main issue, because surely it is NOT, however, back in March here in Tracy, Ca. when a young child goes missing from a community at ANY size, the outreach of support and surely the Reward for any information leading to the safe return and/or just info on the case , the bigger the better! Is there video of him leaving the building and was she still with him? if not is she on video leaving with someone else?I hope and pray she is found safe, but why did social services not step in earlier to protect this child?

This indeed is another sad case and seems a mystery like the Caylee Anthony Case and the other missing five year old that they still have not found yet.I don't understand how some one can hurt a child and I hope they find this child alive.

It would be interesting to know if mommy recognizes the clothes Shaniya had on in the pic at the hotel. If those are not the clothes she was last seen wearing, then where did they come from? Maybe Mario, Slime Ball, Andrette made a stop somewhere between Shaniya's home and the hotel.

Mario McNeill needs to tell the authorities what he did with Shaniya. I honestly think it may be drug related. The mother has not pleaded for the safe return of her daughter, and the reason may be because she had something to do with it. It sounds as if she just handed her little girl to this man. This woman had a lot of ill activity going on around her children, not to mention her boyfriend looks like a drug attic. There needs to be a zero tolerance law for pedophiles and kidnappers. Life in prison after the first offense, is the correct punishment. If the prisons become over populated, then the perverts need to be executed one by one.

The mothers story is not adding up. First she claimed the child was put on the couch at 5:30. Yet she hears nobody come into the apartment? The little girl did not wke up and make any noise?
Secondly there is NO way that man could have driven that child 40 miles in a half hour! It's not possible unless he was speeding, They know how long he was there at the hotel for so why won't they say if the child was with him when he left or not?

Lastly, the little girl seemed to be comfortable with the man. From the footage they have shown she is not crying, not trying to get away. But why did they only stay at the hotel less than an hour? And why did they go there in the first place? The man has no history of abusing children so I hope that is a good thing
Why won't the police say if they have footage of him leaving? We see him there with the child but they won't say if they have footage of him leaving and if so, was Shanyia with him?! Why not?! The clues have to be at that hotel! Phone records,etc. He was there barely and hour. Not enough time to kill her and dispose of her body.

Statistically, the odds aren't good that this child will be found alive and unharmed. I hate that fact. But it really seems that the mother is the key in this situation. She has more information than she's giving, and that only tells me that she's protecting someone......and it's not her daughter.

I don't understand what going on in this world. With so many crime and justice shows on the air, are we giving sick people fuel for their actions? I think they are acting on impulses that they have and they feel justified because there are more sick people like them out there.

I live in the same neighborhood as Shaniya! I've been following the story and praying as if this were my child. I am pissed with the mother I myself have two little girls that I am fighting for custody of because their father ran off with them..Its legal to do that here in NC...but this lady has her daughter and can even come up with a straight story to help these people find her baby! I'm disgusted. Furthermore I remember I was. Eing watched and so was my home because of so called rumors in the neighborhood but here it is a child is abducted and there was no recollection of them living in the home nor has their been any notice of sex offenders in the neighborhood intil now. I'm angry! The people that needed to bee watched aren't and because of that this baby is missing without a clue!

Although I think you do a great job, I feel you have shown very little coverage on the Fayeteville, NC kidnapping of 5-year-old Shaniya Nicole Davis who still remains missing. It was just reported on the local news here in NC that the mom will be charged in connection with her daughter's disappearance.

According to wral, "Antoinette Nicole Davis was being processed Saturday evening at the Cumberland County Detention Center. She is facing charges of human trafficking, felony child abuse, prostitution, filing a false police report and resist, delay, or obstruct, police said."

This is just so terrible... we live about an hour from where this took place and she is about the same age as my son... I so hope they find her alive and that justice for once prevails.

This little girl is more than likely dead. I'll bet the mother sold her to one of those men for drug money. It's tragic that children have to endure this kind of abuse and at the hands of a parent who should be protecting them. This is so heartbreaking, I'm crying as I type this.

This child is clearly bi-racial. The news has reported that there have been custody issues at this home. If you look closly, this child looks like the man who took her. Maybe he was smirkin cuz he knows the truth!!!! She's probably at one of his relatives homes. Maybe the mother doesn't want her sister to know she was sleeping with her man. I just watched the 10:00 news here in raleigh & Shaniya's mother has been arrested with several charges including human trafficking, making a false police report, & I think prostitution & other things. I told my co-worker yesterday that they are probably trying to sell her. Smh. I have a 21 month old & I couldn't imagine something like that happening to her. I'm not feeling so good on this. I believe Shaniya is gone. If McNeil had sex with her and she began screaming he clearly had to make her stop and then get rid of her.I wonder if there is any life insurance policies around. Maybe that was the plan of the mother but McNeil wanted to sex her first. Maybe she was gone a long time and was suppose to get rid of her throughout the night but his penis began thinking for him. Shaniya looks clean, groomed, very well cared for and happy in all the photos displayed on the news. Were the pictures supplied by the biological father? It makes no sense that this childs' blanket was found in a neighbors trashcan covered in feces, unless it was put there to throw the scent off for the dogs. Were the parents ever married? Does the Dad have any rights to the child? (change the biological father rights to have a say in their childs safety/custody/upbringing laws!!!)

Has the Mother (and all adults in the trailer) been given a drug test? It would seem if they have photo coverage of the kidnapper taking the child in, they should have footage of who he met at the hotel, what room if any they stayed in, footage inside the elevator and then footage of him leaving, with or without the child. Also video of him leaving the trailer park with her. He may have just been a dumb delivery boy with no real knowledge or power and the Mom and her sister may have just used him. The smirk is just to look cool on tv, he looks like a real jerk. He should be threatened with the death penalty (change the child kidnapping laws!!!) for taking part in this terrible situation, especially if they can't find this poor frightened little girl.

I think the "MOTHER" or rather, "monster" should be questioned extensively and threatened with the death penalty (change the child porn and human trafficking laws!!) until she tells the police how she found (or was contacted by) the monsters who use children for these hideous purposes. Do they approach people that live in trailer parks? Do they work through men that are in prison? Do they work through drug dealers? Gangs? Do they target people who owe them money? I am so sad to hear about this. Since I've heard about Shaniya I've been worried and praying for her safe return. My heart goes out to the father and his family.

I also am very angry and outraged .. Just wondering why a mother could allow this to happen to her baby girl. I know the father says she's never been in Shaniya's life. Maybe it was best she never was. I mean 3 weeks of having her daughter look what happened.

I've been reading some of the comments on here and from what I understand the area her mother lives in is crime ridden. Why would her father and his family allow Shaniya to go from living in a seemingley stable environment to a crime-infested neighborhood? I also don't understand.. While she had stable employment she was living with other people. Why allow Shaniya to live with her mother. It's one thing to allow her to visit. Quite another to allow her mother to have her 24/7.

I'm sure the father has thought about these things. I'm just very sad to hear about this. I don't know what the hec is wrong with people these days.

To all of the people that have commented on this horrific situation with this precious little girl – please pray that they find this beautiful innocent girl alive. Watching the surveillance video of that sweet 5 year old girl being carried into a hotel room by that &*^% has literally made me ill.

I had a sick feeling that the child was being prostituted, based on the statement that the mother made saying the child was last seen at 5:30 a.m. Unless the mother was preparing the child for school, nothing made any sense! Sorry Annjell, but I think dad has a part to play as well. Apparently Shaniya is the result of a one night stand–Pops says he really doesn't "know" the mother. If he has raised this child for years WHY would he pass her off to the mother WITHOUT SUPERVISION?? I think Shaniya (if she is found) and all the kids in that family should be removed and placed for adoption immediately–and not with any member of that family.

I don't come right out and call for the death penalty too often, primarily because I am concerned about the system making a mistake and executing an innocent person. Just heard on the news. Shanyia has been found dead! Her body was found on a stretch of highway. I hope that mother burns in hell for this! Because if not for her, she would be safe at home.

This beautiful child was last seen on a hotel surveillance camera being carried by her kidnapper which she is holding onto. Little did she know that she being taken away to be killed! I am so appauled, I still have so many questions. Unfortunately, I grew up with (Mr. McNeil) and I was absoultely shocked to find that he was a part of this foolishness. The sad part is that he was a very intelligent young man, that got caught up with the wrong crowd. My heart aches for Shaniya's father. Just from following the case, I have grown attached some what. Still in shock at the actions of Mario, I am very ticked that the mothers family was not seen once while Shaniya was missing, to pleed for her safe return until her mom was arrested and still, you do not see the hurt in there eyes. I just dont understand what is going on in this world..WHY, WHY, WHY are these people killing these babies. I have been watching this story and other stories like this for the past year – from Caley Anthony to Haleigh Cummings to Somer, and now Shaniya . All of these children were innocent and beautiful. Everytime I have prayed for the safe return of these children and everytime I am heartbroken. Each time some sick person has done the unbelievable.. Why are they doing these things to these defenseless children?

This is a complete shame. What a beatiful little girl. Her mother is a complete waste of human life. God gives us children as gift to love I cant imagine how you treat your child this way when they count on you to care for them. BTW, how did this mother end up having physical custody of this child considering her history? It sounds like the father was involved, did he fight for custody in the past? Her death could have been prevented if he got the custody instead of the mother... Too late now... I've been watching your show for the last five months (I am a dedicated fan since I came across your show), this is by far the saddest story. I've cried and even today when I read about her body being found. This little angel had a horrible life because of her so called "mother" and I feel God did not want her to suffer anymore so he took her to where no one else can hurt her. I have a daughter and if anyone tried to hurt her, I can't even think about how I would react. I feel that her mother should have an even harder punishment because we all know she was involved, this woman was suppose to be her protector. The Father had custody and just a month ago the mother ask th father for some more time with the little one. He had seen her in a different light and she showed him that she could care for her so he let her take her for a little bit. This is so heart breaking, to many kids and women are losing their lives.

My heart is broken! Sometimes we can find peace in knowing that someone has moved on to a "higher" place where there's no pain and suffering but this child's life hadn't yet begun and it was snatched away. I can't begin to image the terror/horror that this small child endured during her brief life. It's just not fair! All involved should be put up under the jail and may her no good mother rot in hell. from my understanding from other sites, the father had full custody and let shaniyah live with her mother for about a month. he said she had found a job and it was steady so he said they will give it a try. he said his relationship with the mother was a one night stand(?) and that she had no problem letting him raise the girl.

why did he just give her over like that is a question only he can answer. The family had a long case with child services.

And if so, who? Will the police release such information to the public now that a body has been found?

I was on my way to Sanford today when I saw the volunteers looking for Shaniya. I immediately starting crying. What a horrible thing to end 5 miles from where you live. When I came back home about 1:30, the Fayetteville police were headed back and I knew she had been found. My prayers are out to this family!

I heard the the horrible, horrible news about little Shaniya. I have been following it all week...and I am extremely heart broken. The mother and the men involved deserve death penalty. The police and the investigation unit who were in charge of the serach for Shaniya need to be held responsible as well. They released Coe too soon........The police should have followed these people in order to find the where abouts for little Shaniya. I know the father had good intentions of wanting the mother to be a mother, but he should have done some research on the mother, her living situation, and the environment before he let her take care of the child. I hope these people get life in prison.

Are system really needs to change when it comes to our children. Our system needs to be more aggressive whenever theres an amber alert on a child. The penalty needs to be death. Our justice system needs to change in order to insure tthe safety of our children.

All I can say to console my own emotions and those of everyone else is. The Lord took her Home to live with Him, her Daddy in Heaven,Abba Father. He has saved her life by doing so. She will never have to endure any more pain or suffering ever again. Many children never get to go 'Home' until later in life after they have endured so much horror and pain. Why, why, why would a father allow his daughter to go live with a woman with a background of drug use and child abuse? There is no justification for the mother's actions. She must be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law. He may not be guilty in the court but he certainly bears significant responsibility for the childs death.

We live in a sick society today when we know that there are people out there, who know where these missing children are (Casey Anthony, Mario McNeil, etc.) and we can not do anything to them to find out where these precious children are. Sadly we hear about these stories all too often. To see video of this precious little girl being carried into a hotel by a pedophile is just disturbing. You hear about these types of stories but to actually see it and know what this little girl was about to go through was heart wrenching. I was so upset after seeing the video couldn’t sleep –just cried for this child. I hope the “so called” mother and the pedophile are put into mass prison population that preys on child abusers and pedophiles. To be put to death is too civilized. Make them suffer….

No words can describe the saddness on my heart for baby Shaniya, the rage that now burns within me toward those who have betrayed and stole the life from this beautiful little soul. I have prayed and prayed that God spare this precious child from any harm and to let her be found in a happy place like McDonald's playland or the toy department at Walmart. But, for all the prayers, so many prayers, by so many people, our words were not heard. Evil won and another angel lost. Will it ever end?

If I actually put into words what I would like to see done to the demons who prey upon our innocents, I am afraid that I would be deemed as evil as they are. These monsters deserve to live out the rest of their pathetic, disgusting lives in the most nightmarish ways possible, over and over and over again.

Tragedies such as this make me question God and his meaning in this world. I hold onto hope that he truly does exist. Yet, because abominable acts like this have gone on since the beginning of time, how can one not question? I apologize, if I offend anyone by this. But, the truth is.. If God does exist as we are told that he does, if he knows all, sees all, why does he bless these monsters with beautiful babies knowing that they will only be brutalized and mistreated as though they were meaningless rubbish? It makes no sense to me.

It is written that there is a reason for all things. I see no reason for this grave injustice. These heinous acts will continue on and on and on, just as they always have. Where are you God? Hopefully cradling this beautiful little angel in so much love that her tiny soul heals from the cruelty she had to experience here on earth.

IMO, the father shares part of the blame here.. He had the custody of the little girl and willing gave her back to the mother, knowing what she was about... He wanted to "give her a chance to be a mother"... Ok, but it doesn't sound like he even checked out her new place (which turns out wasn't even hers)... How does anyone in his right mind just give his kid to someone who in the past clearly was not an appropriate parent without making sure the kid will be living in decent conditions? The conditions this little girl was staying did not sound decent (6 people in a small trailer and the mother was NOT a legal resident there from what I understand..) So I don't think the father is off the hook and is in fact partially responsible for what happened to her some weeks after he gave her up to the mother...

P.S. I am surprised that no one else sees the biological father's responsibility in all this.... I feel very sad for him, but at the same time he was responsible for allowing his child to end up in very unsafe environment..To me, that's child neglect for all intents and purposes. He basically gave away his child to a drug addicted prostitute who happened to be her biological mother (which doesn't make it ok)... He needs to take part of the responsibility for this.

This is very heart breaking! I honestly think that after watching Shaniyah's half sister speak that she may possibly be in on it too or at least know more than what she is putting on. Reason being, she just seemed too eager to speak. If something like this happened to my sister I'd be crying uncontrollably. She just seemed too ...happy, and nieve, her 5 mins of fame may have revealed that she should be treated as a suspect as well. Based on her lack of emotion and non-chalant display of grief.

Another question is if the mother was not supposed to have Shaniya in her possession (which they stated on tv) why wasn't she dropped off at another family members house? Further more, my opinion as to how each of these sickos should be punished is not death, but use every picture of the murder scene... evidence... horrifiying imagery, and make them come to terms with what they have done, (Since a lot of these pedophiles etc. detach themselves from reality and emotion) and then every day of that childs birthday make them eat a hallucinagenic drug in a cup cake with the number of years that child would have been had they lived and just let them suffer in their own hell over and over. I am just appalled that these little bodies continue to be attacked, harmed, murdered, etc. I'm beginning to understand why people take things into their own hands. Sad ending to a beautiful little girl found dead. This monster mother and the men they arrested need to be executed. What is it going to take for the USA laws to change. Lets hope they are executed, not sure the laws in NC. If this monster mother did not want her daughter, she could of given her up for adoption.

im sick to my stomache..and if i was ever given the opportunity to suggest torture techniques..i have many in mind. i wonder if this piece of crap would be smiling if he was locked in a room being tortured by many men with every imaginable tool possible. i have NO mercy for those causing any harm to children, and i immediately recommend hours and hours of torture and then death. they do not deserve to be given a fair trial; those children which have been murdered were not given any chance.

Our social services system is a JOKE. I know of a family that had to fight for over one year to get their kids back home. The mom was accused of neglect because of a congenital defect one child had that made them think he had head trauma. So they placed him and his siblings with the biological dad who used a BELT to discipline them and the place was a drug den!!! After a long fight these kids are doing great and are back where they belong but it was a real battle against "the system". Not to mention it cost the caring mom all her savings and more. And who foots the bill for the THERAPY the kids need after living that long in HELL???

It's trickle-down. We place abusers and violent sex offenders doors down from schools. We allow criminals and psycopaths to walk the streets based on "good behavior" and they turn right around and strike again. Penalties and jail time are cut short because of overcrowding in our courts and prisons. Police are called out and told "something is wrong" (look at the Jaycee Duggard case and the case of that dispicable mass murderer in Ohio) and NOTHING GETS INVESTIGATED. So why are we so surprised when things like this happen? I'm not negating the scope of thisparticular crime; it is nauseating. But surprising, given the condition of where little Shaniya was staying? Please. Remember the Hitchcok classic, "Marni"? She was put "on the sofa" nightly while her mom was turning tricks for sailors in the bedroom. Only one time when a guy tried to rape her instead, young Marni accidentally killed HIM. But this little Shaniya.....I think some people are right. She looked confused in the arms of McNeill but she did not look frightened. I think she was familiar with him.

I feel sorry for Shaniya's father but he never should have let her go into that den of darkness her mother lived in. He has to live with that guilt forever.

WHAT (?) is Mario McNeill smiling about? Is it because he knows something and thinks he has the police fooled? Another thought- there's footage of Mario McNeill and the child (Shaniya Davis ) going into the hotel's elevator on the way to the room. Is there exit footage? and if so, what does the footage show regarding Shinaya's physical demeanor at that point? It's strange he carried her in.. then I looked at it from his viewpaoint – was he getting ready for the trip out of the hotel once finished with her in the room? Would carrying her in make it seem normal to carry her out (ie, if she was deceased or unconscious)? Also, was tipped off or did he only plan to stay there for an hour. He definately gives me the creeps while looking at his mug shot. His eyes are clear, he is smiling.. he enjoyed the attention and thinks he has out thought the authorities.. we will see..

This is beyond disgusting!!! All involved should be put to death!! This girl meant nothing to them. The only one that seemed to care is the father. She looks like so many little girls I know. I believe too much has been made of the "body language" issue when Shaniya was being carried into the motel room by McNeil and also of the mother's comments about the child being able to unlock the front door of the home. If Shaniya and her mother were living with the mother's sister AND if McNeil is the boy friend of the mother's sister, then it is logical McNeil might be living in the home with the two women and the children and/or that he would have keys to the place. If he was already inside the home and then took Shaniya out of the home, then there would be no forced entry into the home. Also, Shaniya would have known him and, therefore, did not appear frightened in the motel video. I also believe too much was made of the mother's 911 call; perhaps she was asleep when McNeil took the child from the home and really knew nothing until she realized the child was missing.

First of all, I want to say, I Love You so much and I watch your show almost every night. I thank you Nancy for standing up for crime victims and especially crimes on children. The case of Shaniya is sooooo sickening to me that "Hell is not Hot enough" for that EVIL lady some call her mom. She doesn't deserve that title. I have two beautiful daughters and could not believe that someone could do this to their own gorgeous daughter. Shaniya would have been a gift for Anyone else. This lady Antoinette reminds me of Casey Anthony. I am sickened by all of these pedophiles and I am so happy that you are doing so much to help the cause. We need to get them off of the streets. Shaniya went to visit Annoinett Davis on Oct 31 Aunt Carey said she packed Shaniya enough clothes for two days and expected to pick her up on Sunday. On Sunday morning Davis called Aunt Carey and told her THAT SHED NEVER SHE SHANIYA AGAIN. I think Davis planned on selling Shaniya all along. God Bless this beautiful precious angel

As a father of 2 girls I can't imagine what Shaniya's dad must feel but my condolences go out to him.How could they do that to such a beautiful little girl.Death is not a good enough punishment for those involved in the murder of that angel.Their punishment should be long and severe.How sick do you have to be to sell your child and as a man you have to be even sicker to buy a 5 year old.A 5 year old child!!! I am curious why she was not removed from the home when the allegations of prostitution was heard of. She would be alive right now if she was removed and given back to her father. This makes me sick to my stomach that someone could actually do this to a child much less a mother !

I was brought to tears watching last night. That little girl so sweet, those people nothing but animals... worse than animals. The death penalty is not even enough for them. What kind of Mother puts her own child out there like that? I would NOT even call her a Mother, she is a piece of garbage. A mother loves a child, takes care of them and PROTECTS them! She doesn't sell them to the wolves!

My question to all of this is, The young man that had her last at the hotel and he turned himself in to the police, what did he do with Shaniya? Also why would her real father send her to live with her mother if she had issues and subject Shaniya to harm? I am not blaming the father but the question is in mind. The whole story just does not make any since to me. Who ever took this child life really did not have to kill her. What was done in the dark the truth will come to the light.

Everyone is so outraged at these kinds of horrible crimes and find the time to blog. How many of us take the same amount of time to call, write or email our "government representatives" to demand that the laws be changed? Being horrified and outraged is not going to get the job done if we don't stand up and say NO MORE!. No more crimes against young people and children without proper punishment.. The death penalty should be a given anytime a child is harmed in this way. We as parents, Christians and Americans are the only hope these children have, because the government either cannot or will not do anything to keep them safe -in school, on the streets or ultimately in their own homes. Only by getting involved, demanding harsher punishments for criminals, becoming more aware of what is happening in our country today can we make our world safe for our children again.

I am so upset about the daily news of the sexual mistreatment of women and children. There has to be more severe punishment than is currently available. I propose that the perpetraitors are castrated and then send to prison and the women who have the children and continue to have children and subject them to these fatal men be sterilized so that at least they can not have any more children who would be in danger of being abused and killed. I belive this criminals should have no rights, examples need to be made. I have a feeling the Mother had a Freudian slip when she said she put her on the couch at 5:30 last night and the operator interrupted her and said you mean this am and she said yes-the man probably took the little girl at 5:30 pm and the Mom let her stay gone all night and then called the police-at first I thought maybe the Mom only sold her for the night and freaked when they did not get her back and called the police but then I have changed my mind because if she had only sold her for the night and the child was not there in the am she would have waited for a few days before she called 911 hoping that she would get the child back or she would have been out hunting for her to get her back from the guys she knew she had her- but now, I think-she sold her at 5:30 pm,the guy takes her supposedly to deliver her but decides to have her first so stops at the hotel-assualts her and then whisk her out to meet whoever was going to pay them money or drugs for her. The Mother waited all night until the morning before she called 911 and knew she had to report it because the S's Dad would have found out she was missing and called 911 so she called so she did not look guilty. Last night it was mentioned that she had no pants on and a soiled excrement blanket near her so I think who ever he delivered her to-abused her for a day or more and then killed and dumped her body-Makes me vomit and I am glad there is a Hell!

If the mother was still up at 5:30 a.m., I find it odd that she would go to sleep for such a short time (an hour or so) and suddenly wake up to find Shaniya gone.

She states that she brought Shaniya to the couch around 5:30 a.m. Where was Shaniya prior to that? Did she not have a bed and if she was already sleeping in another room, why would you move her at 5:30?

I prayed for Shaniya safe return when I saw the survelliance video. There is so many evil people preying upon innocent children for their sick pleasure. I want to start an organization that will help these innocent children. Also why do we have to waste the taxpayer's time and money to give these animals a trial. Shaniya didnt have a chance and now the so called mother is still reproducing. It makes me sick to my stomach. If I could have a couple of minutes with her. Ugh Im so angry.

My own mother began selling me for sex when I was about three years old. I was raped repeatedly but, unlike little Shaniya, I did not end up being murdered. The damage done to me was so immense though that I wish I was dead.

I have custody of my son, because my ex-wife wasn't doing the right thing. I had to take her to court to just to see my son. I called Child Protective services on many occasions and was just ignored. All they say I would is what do you want us to do. My ex-wife lost custody after lying to the judge and disrespecting him in court. I recieved custody immediately. Child Protective services was even at the court hearing to witness my ex-wife reactions. After three months of having custody, my ex-wife calls Child Protective services to lie and say she felt he was in danger. Child Protective services was all over me. They treated my like I was Taliban, until I was able to show them paperwork on how unstable she was. Then they started to help me. I feel that men are not taken seriously by Child Protective services, and as you can see that needs to change. This is probably why the father was not notitied by Child Protective services about the drugs that were found on the mother. This is a sad case and Child Protective services needs to show fathers who are doing to right thing there respect. Also me and my wife love you nancy and we are glad that you are here to make this known. Theory: the child was sedated and abused in the mother's house, the anti-nature acts she suffered provocated the blanquet with feces. At the morning, mom and boyfriend decided to simulate a kidnap and rape. The man took the girl to ride her away. He had to stop in a hotel to wipe the bleeding of the girl, because the idea was to simulate she was raped in the place she would be found. He left the hotel, found a place, killed the little girl,took off her panties and throw the body away.

I've been watching the coverage of this with discust and anger beyond description. The Mother of this little girl and the animal that murdered her should be put to death. That being said how is it that everyone is giving the father a pass on this. Five weeks ago, he took his little girl away from a normal childhood with siblings and an aunt who loved her and gave her to an unbalanced woman living in a single wide trailer that looked like a junk heap. Not only did this person (I won't call him a man) leave this child he did nothing to assure that this little girl was receiving even the minimum of care. A simple call to the childs school would have alerted him to the horror this poor baby was delivered (by him) into. He has no right to call himself a father. Yet almost every person who even mentions him refers to him as some kind of victim as if he had no responsibility for this childs horrible death. He gave his baby to her killers & did nothing to check on her welfare. He is an animal.

I'm sorry but this story does not pass my BS meter. I hope the police arn't getting the story that the mom sold her child from the pervert the molested and killed the girl. If the mom was a drug addict and prostitute then there would be evidence of this.. she doesn't have a criminal record and was working two jobs. I read that Superior Court Judge JACK THOMPSON was the Einstein who cut Mario Andrette McNeils supervised probation 6 months short. But I read another article where he was tough on pet crimes. There was a 5 year old that was tortured, raped and murdered and he contributed to that crime because he failed to thouroughly review this guys criminal record. Mario shot someone point blank in the face among other charges and this Bozo Judge decided he'd cut his parole and felt he was no threat to society. The other person who has blood on his hands for incompetance is WAYNE MARSHBURN Judicial District Manager who had a hand in approving unsupervised probation instead of supervised probation for Mario McNeil. I read an article where he said there are no guarantees that even if probation was supervised Shaniya would be alive. Well you know what, I think she should have had that option. He also said that even though the dept has some issues he was satisfied with the job they did. These folks seem like they could care less. They are wrecklessly lazy and children are being tortured and murdered because of it. The last statement he made was he puts God first, Family second and his job 3rd. This is quite obvious since his gross incompetance cost a little girl her life. I have watched this since little Shaniya went missing. I live very close to the town where she was taken from and where she was taken to. My heart has broke for her every day. I cried for a child I did not know and still do. The mother and McNeil will get what they have coming to them, beacause no jury in this world would let this go unpunished. I don't want either of them to get the death penalty I think they should have to suffer every day for the rest of their lives. Show them pictures of Shaniya every day and make them remember what they both done to her. Put them in comfinment away from everyone and feed them bread and water for the rest of their lives. Make them suffer. May God hold Shaniya in the palm of his hand and give her peace. God rest her tiny soul. I pray for her father and those who truley loved her and that does not include her mother. The only thing I pray for her is for God to let her feel Shaniya's pain that she felt as she left this earth and went home to God. God Bless you Shaniya.

Shaniya's death has been a blessing for the child. I know some will say WTF?!! But the sad truth is, Shaniya, like myself, was born to two bad parents. The mother, a drug-addicted prostitute; the father, absentee, at best, his sister was Shaniya's primary caregiver, Lockard's former in-laws are rearing his other three children (from his decease wife).

My parents: Both selfish, not married, not wanting me, as I was totally unplanned. I had a stepfather who raped me at age 12, my mom at first, didn't believe me, then she blamed me, and forbade me to tell anyone, or to prosecute. We didn't have the laws then, that we have now. Prior to the rape, I had suffered verbal and physical abuse from them both–not enough for an outsider to detect, but abuse all the same.

Shaniya's father admitted that he and Antoinette Davis had a one night stand, with Shaniya being the end result. They had no real relationship and did not communicate often. Also, it is apparent that he showed little regard for his daughter's safety by allowing her to live with Davis, in an illicit environment. It's obvious that he could not properly care for Shaniya due to his job requirements of traveling to various locations. However, his former in-laws offered to care for Shaniya (as they were already caring for her half-siblings), Lockard refused. His sister, Carey, had severe misgivings about Shaniya living with Davis, Lockard ignored her warnings. Lockard's crime? Failing to ensure the safety of little Shaniya, which I personally feel should garner a child negligence charge, at least.

So, on October 9, little, helpless, Shaniya went to live with her mother and on November 10, she went missing–we know the rest.

Shaniya, like myself, was a "lost child", with no real, loving foundation, no real parent to love and care for her unconditionally. Had she survived her mother's abuse and her father's lack of "real interest", she would have probably been able to make her way through life, but always, like myself, with some degree of self-loathing, suicidal thoughts–no I'm not suicidal, but I do sometimes wish for death. She would probably have had an empty life, with little regard for others. Like it or not, this is often the end-result of an adult child abuse survivor.

That being said, given the circumstances of this poor child's existence, and given the torture she would have continued to endure at the hands of her mother and the low-lifes she is surrounded by. Death is kinder.

I say let's help NC do a little internal house cleaning.....

I think they should be totured with all evidence of what they did to the poor baby. Noone deserves to be touched without their choice of being, especially a child who can't make her own choices, or barely tie her own shoes or began to learn her address and phone number. I don't believe neither one of them need to killed, thats too easy for them. I think they should "SUFFER", with all force of torture. Let them set a prime example of what hppens when you harm a child or anyone against their. Being a parent that hurts me so bad, cus I have children myself, all girls. I mean who does that? I am sick and tired of what these children are subjected to; I recommend that this country suggest to the legal system a public execution, and if not, let the fellow prisoners make that horrible man suffer the way he must have made that little girl suffer. Public execution, let it begin.
I pray for Shaniya and her family, and may she rest in peace and become a symbol of what we must refuse to let this type of crime continue.

I figured that he met a person that was already in the hotel room and that is why he was able to walk directly in-they probably video tapped the abuse so that they could sell it and make tons of money off of it and the person that filmed it took the film and left and then McDirt took the girl and killed her. I am thankful that she is free from suffering.

@June Boyd, public executions – are you serious? Should we just become the same kind of barbarians as these criminals are? The problem is drug addiction, which probably causes something like 90% of all crime, including this case and many like it, and this is where we need to start. At the core. Executions, public or private, are not going to cut it.

I agree with Diana...some people really need to stop blaming Shaniya's father. He obviously blames himself for allowing his daughter to live with Antoinette. He has been cleared as a suspect. He is NOT the one who murdered this innocent little girl. He took care of her for the first 4 years of her life. He is grieving over her tragic death. He loved her very much. He is hurting. Show a little bit of sensitivity and compassion to him because it was NOT his fault.

To the people who believe that Mario McNeill was Shaniya's daddy....no, he was not. There is absolutely no resemblance between them. Some of you have probably never seen a biracial person, because she is obviously of mixed race while Mario McNeill is a very dark-skinned Black man. Antoinette is a very dark-skinned woman. Two people of the same race cannot produce a biracial child. Her father, Brad, is white and she looked a lot like him. She had white features and light skin.

Like the rest of you, I really hope that the truth is uncovered. Was Shaniya sodomized? Who threw her blanket away? Did anyone see anything suspicious at all? How often had McNeill been to the home? Were there previous incidents of sexual abuse? I have so many questions about this.

Jesus...this makes me sick. WTF is wrong with the world?! Why do these things happen? Why?! It makes no sense. Nothing makes sense anymore. I want to scream. This is so jacked up.

She was beautiful, as ALL children are, and she did not deserve this. Children deserve to be loved...not hurt.

Just one comment on Nancy knowing exactly what her twins are wearing. I have a 2 yr old same age as nancy's twins and a 4 yr old younger than Shaniya. Yes, I know exactly what my 2 yr old is wearing because she is still in diapers. My 4 yr old – different story. She has access to her clothes cupboard and like a typical girl loves to change clothes and underwear 3-4 times a day. I know what shirt/pant she is wearing but what underwear – sorry I would not know. This in no way implies i dont love my 4 yr old. Hence note to Nancy – I appreciate what you are doing.

I really hope they are sentenced very soon. Like this year! And put to death in January of next year. The evil mother shows no emotions what-so-ever! The child she is carrying should imediately removed and given to someone who can't have children that will love them dearly. So actually, the evil mother should be allowed to live long enough to give birth to the unborn child, then put to death right after that! I hope the unborn child doesn't have any birth defects or addictions due to her drug habbit. She has destroyed enough people.
