Breaking news tonight: the Fayetteville Police Department announced that the Cumberland County District Attorney will file first degree murder and first degree child rape charges against 29-year-old Mario McNeill, the person last seen with 5-year-old Shaniya Davis.
Preliminary autopsy results reveal homicide by asphyxiation. A final autopsy report has not yet been issued, but Fayetteville Police representatives say preliminary test results show Shaniya was strangled.
McNeill was caught on video surveillance carrying Shaniya in his arms through a Comfort Suits hotel in Sanford, North Carolina. Fayetteville Police have not yet announced whether Shaniya’s mother, who is believed to have handed over the child for sexual servitude, will face additional charges. Police are serving additional warrants tonight.
Undercover Videos Emerge in Newlywed Bride’s Alleged Murder-for-Hire Plot
Remember the story we covered on the Florida beach beauty accused of hiring a hit-man to take out her husband of just 6 months. 26-year-old Dalia Dippolito comes home to find cops and crime scene tape around her home, then breaks down uncontrollably when she’s told her husband, Michael Dippolito, has been killed. The entire thing is caught on video and when you look hard at the cops, you can tell they’re trying not to laugh. Why?
The “crime scene” was staged! Michael Dippolito was safe and sound at police headquarters and the alleged “hit-man” was actually an undercover cop. But the story is more layered than we thought now that investigators have released more than 10 hours of undercover video, wiretaps and hundreds of documents in the case. Dalia Dippolito was also allegedly caught on surveillance video putting the plan in motion inside the “hit-man’s” car, handing over photos of her husband, his daily schedule, $1,200 to buy a gun and directions to their home. She says she “5,000 percent sure” she wants him dead.
And in a stunning twist, we learn it’s not the first time she allegedly tried to take out her husband. Police records reveal shortly after their February nuptials, she cruises Riviera Beach for potential hit-men and when that doesn’t work she allegedly tries to poison Michael Dippolito’s tea with antifreeze. This on top of allegedly trying to set up her husband on fake drug busts.
Her alleged motive? To keep control of the $242,000 town home she convinced hubby to put solely in her name and to keep more than $200,000 cash she also convinced him to give her. The videos, including the moment she comes face to face with the husband she just tried to have killed, are unbelievable!

We have two suspects in custody, surveillance video, and a body of an innocent little girl discarded in the woods….so where are the murder charges? 5-year-old Shaniya Davis was kidnapped from her home in Fayetteville, NC last Tuesday, was taken to an area hotel and then murdered. Her mother is being held on charges of human trafficking, child abuse involving prostitution and filing a false police report.
29-year-old Mario McNeill, who can allegedly be seen on the surveillance carrying little Shaniya through the hotel and who also turned himself in to police, is being held on first degree kidnapping charges.
That’s a good start, but I will ask again…where are the murder charges?!
While we all sit and wait for lab results to come back and for the DA’s between Lee and Cumberland counties to decide who’s going to take the case, Shaniya’s family waits for justice. And even worse, a murderer could be on the loose.
