Primetime exclusive tonight: Joe Vega, a close family friend of missing 6-year-old Isabel Celis' family speaks out regarding the newly released 911 calls and Isabel's dad being barred from seeing his family.
Breaking news tonight: the Fayetteville Police Department announced that the Cumberland County District Attorney will file first degree murder and first degree child rape charges against 29-year-old Mario McNeill, the person last seen with 5-year-old Shaniya Davis.
Preliminary autopsy results reveal homicide by asphyxiation. A final autopsy report has not yet been issued, but Fayetteville Police representatives say preliminary test results show Shaniya was strangled.
McNeill was caught on video surveillance carrying Shaniya in his arms through a Comfort Suits hotel in Sanford, North Carolina. Fayetteville Police have not yet announced whether Shaniya’s mother, who is believed to have handed over the child for sexual servitude, will face additional charges. Police are serving additional warrants tonight.

in the shaniya davis murder it was reported by the mother that the child was wearing only a tee shirt and underwear when she disappeared. did i see the picture of her being carried out of the hotel wearing what appeared to be a pair of blue shorts. where did this guy get her clothes if not from the mom.

I hope as soon as McNeill gets to prison he gets his skull bashed in and dies a slow painfull death.
This is just crazy to me. To think about what Shaniya went through up until her death and how this man he violated her and choked her. It just hurt my hearts. I taught preschool students Shaniya's age. I can't believe someone could do this to her.

I do not feel that Shaniya Davis' father is as lilly white as he attempts to appear to be. I have lived in Fayetteville for over 22 years, and anyone who has lived here for even a short period of time knows what goes on at Sleepy Hollow Mobil Home Park, and the type of people who live there. Mr. Locklear (dad) allowed Shaniya to leave his beautiful, spacious, $280,000 plus home to live in a seedy, run-down, filthy trailer with her mother, Antionette? Even her Aunt (dad's sister)who dropped Shaniya at the trailer said she didnt get along with Antionette because of the way she raised her kids. HELLO? Did she thinl Shaniya would be treated differently? Dad also had two teenaged children whom he pawned off to their maternal grandparents after their mother died in 1999. And several decent folks offered to keep Shaniya when dad had to leave town, but dad declined their offers. To me, Shaniya's dad has blood on his hands as well. Thank you.
When I hear stories like this is breaks my heart. Children are the most precious gift in this life. For this mother ( and I use the term loosely) to give her beautiful child to this scumbag. There are many people in this world that would give anything to have and love a beautiful child like this and I am one of them.

I saw the father's interview the other day and he stated that Shaniya was dropped off with her mother on Oct. 9 by her aunt. The aunt was also interviewed and stated that Shaniya said she loved her when she was dropped off and that was the last the aunt saw her.
My question is, with the mother's history well known to the father why did no one from the family check on Shaniya during the month she was with her mother.
Also, it has been reported that Shaniya was removed from school the middle of Oct. and the father had not idea. Why, again, did he not make sure the school was to contact him in the event of any situation.
Can the father be charged with abandonment, or at the very least, neglect. Why weren't safeguards in place by the father, he knew the mother's history and drug abuse, why in the world would he leave his baby with her and just assume everything would be different than it had been in the past. I'm willing to bet that the hotel room was not the only place that poor baby was abused both sexually and physically.
Ok! Enough is enough with all these child cases! What Is wrong with our justice system? Land of the free? Thats a laugh! Kids are no longer safe anywhere! I agree anyone who requires assistance from state should have to take random drug tests. We need tuffer laws for crimes against children! Its really gettin to be bullcrap! Our country is becoming no better than the middle east! Why do people have rights for doing unthinkable crimes? We all waste money to help the criminals out! What about the children and others who morally deserve our tax dollars! Come on this is not rocket science!

okay i think the father should be charged as well. he is the one that just gave this little girl away to the mother someone that he knew wasnt safe for the girl.if it hadnt been for the fathers badly judgement the little girl would still be here. why wasnt he supervising the mothers visit with the mother? where was the school? if your child misses even one day they always call where was those calls? i think the father has something to hide as well as the mother. no matter what i would never leave my kids with any one that i had a second thought about. i think these young mothers should either love their children or give them up for adoption.save more childrens lives. i also think that if they do something like this to a child, they never should be able to see the light of day again,put them in a cell and lock them away for life!!!!! very sick place and time we live in and raise our children in.wish more people had bigger or a heart for theirselves and children or even the neighbors child.
That is a real sad thing that happen to little Shaniya Davis and my prayers goes out to the family. There should not be a lawyer on this planet that would defend a case like this. Both mother and killer should be buried under the jailhouse.
Hello Nancy, Love your show watch it every chance I get sometimes I will have to watch it as a repeat do to the hours I work. But my heart goes out to the family of the BEAUTIFUL LITTLE Shaniya Davis family. Everytime I see her photo I just tear up wondering what in the heck was her mother thinking which it wasn't to much of anything cause I'm a mother of 2, to be totally real I will kill for mine even though they are grown now it wouldn't change a thing. As for that sorry piece of a woman who delivered Shaniya, there should be no trial, cause she is guilty and she should be put to death along with that animal that was carrying her in that hotel why should the taxpayers have to foot that bill we are already in a budgeet crisis, it is cheaper to put them to or more if any to death. I'm from Spring Lake, NC...literally right next door to Fayetteville. I don't know the mother or the father exclusively, but I know them from their dealings here in this military town. Neither of them have ever been up to any good. Sad to say that Shaynia's father had been with the mother years ago but left her due to her drug addiction and party-goes life style. Mario A. McNeil ( I don't want put same to the driver's name) has never been any good since he was in middle school. Of course, his family has no comment about his actions because they don't want anything to do with him. Cocaine abuse, marijuana abuse, theft, attempted murder ( don't care what the lawyer says)...McNeil is scum. He knows it and so does the whole town.
Also, as an individual who is on probation (for low-level marijuana, but you can ask my PO I'm clean now) the system here in Cumberland county is a joke. The PO's try to keep you on the straight and narrow, but some of them have/are horrible judges of character. I don't understand why people give repeat offenders chances when they shouldn't and the ones that need it can't get it. But then again, a criminal is a criminal, right?
Nevertheless, Mario A. McNeil doesn't want freedom. He thinks he's a gangster, a hustler, a pimp. and now? now he'll be somebody's hoe, somebody's playtoy...just like he did that little girl. And let me tell you something: I'm a father of 2 daughters. Ages 1.5 years and 6 months. I don't care who you are. If you try that with my kids, I'll find you, skin you alive and call the police on MYSELF. No man should be killed for raping and killing a child. Let them live for all time. Guilt is the worse torture of all.
We have seen the tapes of that scumbag carrying Shaniya to the elevator and then to the hotel room.

I live in Fayetteville. I can't believe something like this happened so close to home. The day after Shaniya was kidnapped, her mother came into a restaurant passing out missing child flyers. I could not believe how calm and unemotional she was. She acted nothing like a mother who's precious child was missing.She was passing out the flyers saying this was her daughter and she is missing.I thought right then she knew more than she was saying. She mentioned they had arrested some man with some bs charges. That was her words exactly like she didn't know him. Come to find out he is the father of her baby. Then he is released so did she set him up to protect the real killer. I have been watching everyday hoping she would be found alive. I cried when she was found dead. This could have been prevented. There was so many wrongs with the whole situation. It makes you want to keep your kids in the house.
Hi Nancy, What a nightmare for this child. Now the scene that keeps flashing in my head is that Hotel Scene where McNeil shows her alive and how all he had to do was call the police and everything could of been on the road to recovery for the child. But instead things did not go well, so now I in my heart of hearts think McNeil should get the death penalty asap, the Mom of this child I understand is pregnant, well she does not need any children at all including the one that she now carries. So and for sure she really needs a very long prison term, possibly life time, maybe somewhere down the road she will detox from whatever drugs she was on, and then wakes to realize what she has done. Now I wonder how many kids have to deal with drug parents and how can law enforcement intervene, how can a child save themselves? Kindergarden is where they learn to dial 911 and such. This truly is the most tragic case yet. The child didn't have a prayer of a chance for life. Thanks for speaking up for Shaniya and all the kids who don't have "a voice". The death of this innocent child has torn my heart.if you will check there is a need to investigate such cases as this in this state! I live in Charlotte,NC has a high rate of these incidents.This state is more concerned with making money off of traffic law, they slap people on the wrest that need to stay behind jail bars, such as the scum that committed the crime, but there is no money involved with murders and drug charges, due to these criminals being defended by state attorneys.
I am not saying that the investigators in the case did not do their job they did but the break down is at the county level, in the court room,as a citizen I feel my tax dollars are being spent worthless, I am so sad this child had to endure what she did, I am glad she is in God's arm's.There should be more laws in place to protect the children.

I still can not believe a mother just would hand her child to a complete stranger. I was a victim at an early age of two years old, my uncle molested me in got away with it. I feel nothing but pain for shaniya, and i hope the mother pay for what she did to her daughter. I can not stop crying, the image of what could had went on in that house bothers me alot. the mother needs to be put to sleep because i believe in my heart that she knew what was going on. I feel like the system does not care about the little people because a child molester can get six months in jail, and get out to do it again. As of a father of three, I cannot understand the aspect of turning a 5 year old "child" to prostitution, "work harder" mommy. At least she is with God now where she will have unconditional love and protection. I watch you every night since I'm working and have to stay awake, and tonight I know you had tears in your eyes talking about little Shaniya, I only hope that the mother of this precious child will be charged the same way as that sick excuse of the man are, and I truly hope that the Fayetteville police put them into the general jail population, and there maybe get a taste of what the child went thru. To me it is a shame that we as the taxpayer's have to spend the money on a trial for the gargabe as there are and have to feed and house them for the rest of there life.

I am nauseated and sickened by this case. Mario McNeill and the Bit*# Antoinette deserve to live everyday in turmoil, haunted by Shinaya's remembrance. I only hope they are both not afforded the death penalty because they need to live to suffer just as Shinaya did.
I hope from all my heart that this animal will find his match in jail. I am a Christian...but this story make me sick and I pray hard that until he will get the dead penalty ( not spend tax payers money to feed a monster for life in prison), somebody there that doesn't have anything to loose, will offer to him same treatment that sweet girl got from him...
I think the mother watched or was involved in the molestation of this child, because of the evidence of feces on the blanket and the trailer. I think she realized the child would probably talk and turned her over to be killed. This is just heartbreaking. We need to teach our young children what's appropriate touching and what's not and where to go for help when something like this happens. I hope both of them are charged and put to death. It's also ashame they have to be separated from the other inmates, who may do the same to them. I know that sounds barbaric, but this is just brutal. This country must protect our children better and touch the laws.

That being said did this father who choose to leave her with these animals ever check anything out? Why in good and how in good conscience, could he leave her there for 5 weeks? The whole system let this child down.....If he had to go out of town for such a long period of time, he should have left her with his relatives. Where was his son staying? Did he leave him alone for 5 weeks , he was only 16.....Why didn't the damn school call him or someone else and report her NOT being in school???? Why is this subject matter NOT addressed, or a Committee not appointed by The Powers That Be to look into and come up with new and better ideas/laws for the 21st Century to protect our leaders of tomorrow? Something has to be done NOW!
This case is one of the most disturbing cases I have ever heard of! The thought of this Childs “so called mother” would do such a thing makes me SICK. Everyone involved in this case deserves to be put to death ASAP! What really pisses me off is the fact that this child predator will be protected in prison; laws need to be changed to prevent these SICKOS from being protected in prison, they should be walking the yard with everyone else, they sure wouldn't last long and that would be justice served!!

I've just found this blog page and I find it very curious? A blog devoted to law and order in America.
You do realize that the United Nations has voted for Israel to conduct a fair and independent investigation into the recent Gaza war. But America voted against the need for a fair and independent investigation.
The United Nations asked for an investigation to be made in the next six month otherwise Israel must receive a fair trail in the international criminal court. America has vowed to block a fair trail in the international criminal court.
So I am curious. If America can object to a free and independent investigation, why would Americans care about legal blog sites?
If America vows to veto the chance for Israel to stand before a fair trail at the international criminal court, why would Americans care about a legal blog site.
Surely Americas actions on the world stage shows that America is not interested in the due process of law. After all if Israel has nothing to hide it will be found innocent.
So why block the legal process and why pretend with blog sites that America cares about the law? As a European I would really like an explanation to such double standards.

Because you are the only one on TV talking in-depth about these horrible crimes committed against children, please do a segment or show on the legislation being developed to deal with crimes against children and sexual predators. Besides Jessica's law, what else is out there for these unspeakable crimes? How can a convicted sexual predator walk the streets? You wouldn't let a person walk around with a loaded gun on the street, but that is exactly what these people are. Sexual crimes in general are an illness, that prison cannot cure. Where is the research on this? We have pills for everything from erectile dysfunction to acne, why don't we have medication for these people? Why isn't the government doing more in terms of research?
This horrific tragedy never would have happened if McNeill was in jail, where he belonged....and/or Shaniya's father hadn't turned his precious daughter over to her mother, who is a junkie & thinks that sex is a recreational sport.
I don't know how the law can't file murder charges against the mom as well. This supposed (mom) was suppose to love and protect this child not allow and aid in soem savage animal raping, sexually assualting, kidnapping and killing her daughter. That woman is a sorry excuse for a mom if that is what mom's are now days.

my comment is about the father and his failure to investigate the home and atmosphere he was sending his daughter into. When you have custody of a child as a father, andnot the mother, that has to say alot about who is better for the child. You can't just decide on your own that you can test the ability of the "mother" and give her another chance at being a mother–the judge made that choice when custody was given to the father. He has to be filled with guilt over his decision.His decision and that of the school for failing to notify him about his childs abscence was a part of her being available for the terrible tragedy. I just want to say that I support Nancy Grace all the way for speaking out. She gets so much out there to the public and strongly supports justice for children of all ages. On that note. This innocent 5 year old girl, Shaniya Davis did not deserve this. Her mother does not deserve the gift from God, a child. I apologize for being so blunt but let me say this. I am a 25 year old single mother of a 7 year old son. I can't imagine a mother wanting to put their child through what that little girl went through. That was her mother, some one that you "are suppose" to trust to protect you. I get so furious when I see that mother on TV, in fact she doesn't deserve the title MOTHER. She is TRASH to me. I agree Tov1. Listening to the conditions of the mother home, the fact that she lives in trailer park known to have a higher population of pedophiles and ex cons. The previous DCF calls, the drug sell that even Shaniya sister knew about. Why did the Dad let her go back? Looking at the outside of the trailer on the news I wouldn’t let my dog stay there. Why wasn’t it condemned? Seeing earlier pictures of Shaniya she was always so clean, pretty and nicely dressed. You also see this with the older kids, the dad and the aunt. Nicely dressed, well spoken. So why allow Shaniyna to leave in those conditions. It doesn’t make sense.
Why are the Mom (saying lightly) and the Rapist in protective custody? Let them out in general population who protected little Shaniya? The case just bothers be. Seeing images of a grown man taking a child into a hotel room for sex is disturbing. Knowing what this child went through bothers me. I’m normally not one for the death penalty but these two deserve it.

Poor sweet angel, you are with God now. Tears fill my eyes everytime I think of this poor baby, because a baby is what she was. I think of all the wonderful times I have had with my own daughter, and how precious every moment is with her and it just baffles me that as a mother, you can disregard your own child as she did. She carried and gave birth to this beautiful little girl! What the hell is wrong with people? It is very hard for me to understand, especially as a mother. It is hard to talk to my daughter about these kinds of things but I have to. Who is she to trust? Family members and friends are kidnapping and hurting our children! We are teaching our children to not trust ANYONE, and it is so sad that we live in that kind of world. But it is reality, and truly sad reality. Every night I say a prayer for all the babies that have been taken, as Shaniya has, and I believe that they are looking over our babies here. I agree with one of your callers last night that these moms receiving welfare checks should be periodically drug tested before receiving tax payers money. I have also read some articles on the internet about the cigarette burns that Shaniya suffered along with God knows what else she was put through. I also read that her father knew that there were drugs being used in that home before
he placed her there, and possibly have known that she was being abused there and what type of living environment was going on there.
Did they not check any of this out before taking her there to live? I heard on your show that the living environment was just horrible there.

I have two beautiful girls myself and cannot imagine what Shaniya's father and siblings are going through right now. Just know that many people have you in their thoughts and prayers. Shaniya will never again be the victim of someone else's cruelty, though I know this fact cannot assuage your pain and anguish. God bless you and your family. Though punishment of the guilty cannot bring Shaniya back, we as a society cannot let this stand and both should be punished to maximum extent of the law. Shaniya's "biological mothers" neighbor said she was awakened at 3 am to what sounded like someone being beaten. This is the same neighbor who's trash can was confiscated by the police because the little girls blanky was found in her trash covered in feces.
If this is the case and there was something already going on at 3 am then what ever was happening with Shaniya could started long before she got to that hotel room.
What went on starting at 3am ???? She said herself on the 911 call that she put her back to bed at 5am on the couch!!!

Also, the child was almost immediately taken out of school by the mother... She could have already been prostituting her daughter since that point. Why else would she keep her home all day.

The problem we are forgetting is that parents should be held responsible -and- accountable for drug related abuse. Too many times the courts allow the children to go back to parents who are known and documented drug abusers, hoping and thinking that the parents are "rehabilitated"........there's that ugly "R" word again......REHABILITATION. This is the biggest LIE and ESCAPE criminals use to continue their criminal and deviant behavior.
If a parent has a well known and documented drug abuse conviction, they SHOULD BE prohibited and deemed unfit to care for children. Unfortunately Shaniya is not the only case of a child suffering at the hands of Drug Abusers. Shaniya is one of the lucky and blessed children to recieve so much media and news coverage. Unfortunately, this problem happens more often than we know. Children at the hands of drug abusers are used as collateral, commerce, objects, trade, etc.etc.
Often times, Drug Abusers and Dealers alike are ALSO Pedophiles as in this case with Shaniya's murderer. Most of the time, where there is a drug dealer, there is a person who will if not already, will do other crimes like murder and child pedophilia.
This is why the courts should take a NO TOLERANCE approach when dealing with parents who are drug abusers and dealers because their addictions and drug profession, AUTOMATICALLY puts their children in harms way and danger! If the child does not suffer at the hands of their own parents, the child will no doubt be harmed by someone in the company of the parent, be it the dealer, a criminal family friend, a criminal boyfriend, etc.etc.etc.
Shaniya's mother isn't the only person that failed Shaniya. The question is WHO ELSE KNEW Shaniya's mother had a drug problem?
1. Did the father know that Shaniya's mother had a drug problem?
2. Did child protective services know Shaniya's mother had a drug problem?
3. Did the FAMILY know that Shaniya's mother had a drug problem?
4. Did the courts know that Shaniya's mother had a drug problem?
4. Did Shaniya's school know that her mother had a drug problem?
Do you see where I am going? IF all these people KNEW Shaniya was in harms way and in a dangerous environment....why was she left alone? Why did no-one conduct regular visits to Shaniya to check her welfare and safety?
Why didn't ANYONE esle see her on a regular basis?
IT is very obvious this world is changing fast and more and more parents are not fit and in position to care for these children, therefore, these children are going to need the protection of SOCIETY . Remember the old saying? "it takes a village to raise a kid"......we as a society should get involved when we see child abuse! IF not directly do it Anonymously. If you feel fear of retalliation, leave ANONYMOUS tips and clues to authority what is going on......,.but don't sit by and ignore it ! REPORT IT. This is the only way these children stand a chance!

Shaniya is so beautiful and precious, as all kids are, but there's just something about this child that's so charming and sweet. I couldn't imagine anyone having any thoughts of harming her. The killers should receive the maximum punishment for their evil deed and I'm praying that no child should ever go through this again. Why in the world would Brad Lockhart leave his daughter in the care of this woman? Even though she "appeared" to have herself together? She didn't just have her for a weekend, but for weeks she was left in this enviroment. I believe he, as her primary care giver is 99.9% responsible for her death! And living here in Fayetteville there is a rumor circulating around town that Shaniya and the other Lockhart children were not even being raised by Brad. Word is that he left that resposibiliy to the childrens grandparents or whatever girlfriend he had at the time.
It is said that the reason Shaniya is dead today is because he recently broke up with hs girlfriend and didn't want to pay someone to care for her while he was out of town on his construction job. He may appear to be the grieving father but something just does not add up. Not only that, but the women he choses to have children with all seem to have seem to have alot of drug related baggage with them.
His first wife (and sister-in-law) ,the mother of his first 3 kids was killed, in an apparent drug related situation and Shaniya's mother seems to fit the same mold. Something just does not smell right. Please help us here in Fayetteville understand what was going on because the pieces of this story are not adding up.

There seems to be more and more of this kind of behavious going on, one can't help but wonder if it isn't because our justice system is letting these sex offenders out of prison over and over again when they should truly be left there. There are other people in prison doing time for crimes of lesser nature and they let the sex offenders out early because of over crowded prisons and so on. Look up any neighborhood in the southern united states and it is stagering as to the number of offenders living in one area.
This guy may not have been a registered offender prior to this but he will be now and any crime against a child under the age of 16 should be considered a life sentence without parol, let a crack head out and make room for the baby killers I would rather my tax dollars go to house the baby killers and rapists then to know they are allowed to roam the streets looking to reaffend.

Rather than any money collected or donated on behalf of Shaniya being given to the father that abandoned her, it should be given to the Mark Klass fund to support all the wonderful work he and the Polly Klass foundation does. The father shouldn't profit from his stupidity and neglect.
Convict them both. Sentence them to life and put them into the general population and let the inmates deal with them.
I look at Lil Shayina and am so heart broken; I see a beautiful little angel a Princess. She was so pretty. When I first heard she was missing I prayed for her safe return. I cryed to hear the outcome. I went home and hugged my daughter 5 and son 10 so much and said I Love you's so much. However , as for the Jerk and that thing they call her the mother " Killed them slowly so they can feel pain" but we should not keep paying to shelter them in jail. What happen to this poor girl is a shame. I have a 5 year old daughter and I can not imagine a child her age suffering like this. I really hope justice is served for this little girl and that her suffering ad tragic death is not in vein. How bold can people get. Your child hasn't been deceased for a week and you have the nerve to be on the O-Show and for what. Money, Publisity and surely not for Fame since some people are the Blame. Father, Mother, Social Services, The Killer are the main 4 areas of investigation for this case. Common sense go's a long way and why do people continue to put their childern in harms way.
If the mother was working 2 jobs. Who took care of Shaniya? Why send her to someone who has to work that much. How much time wouls she have to spend with her child. It was shocking to hear about Shaniya this week here in the Fayetteville Community. What is more shocking is the rap sheet on the individual that has been charged with this crime, however, it is not surprising to many of us here in Fayetteville. For over 15 years now law enforcement in our area work very hard to bring charges against individuals like Mr. McNeil and all our district attorney has done over and over is slap then on the hand, turn them loose, give them probation, release many of them on unsecure bonds and the most disgusting is some of these individuals get locked up with multiple charges that can put them away for 25 years or more and what does our court system do. Well they drop 95% of the charges on a plead bargin, take them before the judge and they are back on the street in 1-3 years. They should stop the plead deals, take them before a judge or jury on all charges. It recently happen in our neighborhood a couple of years ago, charges was dropped on all but one charge as a plead deal. It happens everyday in Cumberland County Court. They should be charged on all charges and face charges on all them. Why waste law enforcement hard and long hours to put them behind bars and then they get off scott free like this McNeil guy.
I can' stop crying over this, every time I think about it or read about it, it breaks my heart, I have a little girl as well and I can't even believe someone would do this... that picture in the hotel room makes me want to vomit. I am so fed up of reading these types of stories and over and over, and usually when a child dies, it was in the hands of someone with a criminal record who was out on parole or released...WHY??? Why is it they are released? Why is it, that it takes a death of a child for them to be locked up forever, why are they locked up, why do I have to pay for there shelter and food? I do not believe in 'eye for an eye' but this is the exception, ENOUGH with these demons. These demons are the ones that make me nervous about letting my older kids go on field trips, what if there is a monster lurking and I'm not there?? A monster, recently released because of his "civil rights'.... forget civil rights, those should be stripped away of anyone who commits any crime on a child.

There is alot to this story that is not being told about the father. It has been told his wife and her sister was shot back in 1998 here in Fayetteville, NC. Rumors all over Fayetteville at that time was saying the house where the victims were shot was a drug house on Graham Road. It was not a simple robbery. The father is saying he had no knowledge of Shaniya's mother was on drugs. Don't think so. The trailer park is located in a high crime area in Fayetteville to begin with. Fayetteville is a high crime place to live to begin with. Someone needs to investigate Social Services and why didn't someone from the school inquire as to why Shaniya has not been in school for all those days. It would not surprise me at all the father has done drugs in the past. What in the world would he be having a one night stand with this lady. What in the world was he thinking? He apparently didn't want to raise his other children. Who gave the aunt authority to take Shaniya over there and leave her. At least Shaniya is in a better place now, no drugs, no torture.

I know that he must feel pain but if this child mattered to him he would have checked before he put Shaniya there and also while she was there. I am surprised that you sided with him having to go out of town for work, Work does not prevent a parent from making a call to your kid. Shaniya was old enough to talk and tell him a lot if he had care to ask. He had other outs but chose Antoinette (he could have left her with his sister, the Coleman and Allen family) He was coming back I am sure that any of these people as they said that they wanted her would have felt privileged to take care of her.

Several people who were close to 5-year-old Shaniya Davis and her father Brad Lockhart say they tried to intervene in the child's life because they felt the little girl was at risk.
A close friend of Brad's, and his ex-father-in-law both say they offered to take in Shaniya rather than let her live with her mother, because they say when the child was in the custody of her mother, bad things happened to her.
"My wife says she saw cigarette burns on Shaniya's arms," said Brad's friend Tim Allen, who says he is very angry over what happened.
Byron Coleman, Brad's ex-father-in-law, said Shaniya "had burns on her legs, arms and things" after visits with her mother.
"She had a cigarette burn on the corner of her eye, which she claimed her grandma did when she went over there," added Shaniya's half sister Cheyenne Lockhart.
The three all claimed that the 5-year-old suffered physical abuse while in the custody of her mother.
"When you wanted sex that's where you went," Coleman said. "You knew what the girl was doing. You knew what she associated with, so why place your daughter in that situation?"
Because of that, Coleman blames Lockhart for Shaniya's death.
"To me Shaniya would be alive today if she wasn't placed in that situation," Coleman claims.
Coleman says he offered to give Shaniya a home, but says Brad declined his offer.
Allen tells a similar story.
"He had an alternative, I gave him a way out," Allen explained; however Lockhart would not let Allen take care of Shaniya.
"I'm fighting mad. All this could have been avoided," Allen said.
Allen had already taken in Shaniya's half sister Cheyenne, because she said her dad wouldn't take care of her.
And Cheyenne says Brad did not provide for Shaniya.
"He didn't take care of her, his girlfriends took care of her," she said. "He loved her, but she was raised by other people. He hasn't been in her life."
Meanwhile, the Cumberland County Department of Social Services said it can not comment on what it was doing in regard to Shaniya because those comments might compromise the on-going criminal investigation.
ADDITIONALLY I would like to add...that deep in my heart I truly believe that BRAD her father has drug problems as well. A one night stand with a crackhead woman? Sounds like prostitution or liek they were getting high together. While I send out my deepest condolences to Mr. Lockhart for his loss, I feel as if he knew the background of these women as well. DRUGS ARE A ROOT TO EVIL.

Mandatory Drug Testing to obtain State Welfare payments. Every time. Positive results = instantaneous incarceration and removal of all children in their custody. While my prayers are with absolutely beautiful angel Shanyia, I cannot help but wonder what the deal is with the father. He has a child with a last name of Davis, a son with the last name of Coleman, and I think is there another child as well, an adult daughter. All with black women and not a one bearing his last name.... what is his deal? My grandmother raised me and I have loser parents. She was 60 and raised a 2 year old baby, me. She would never, ever let me go to their house as they were criminals. They had a clean home, great food, nice home, beautiful cars, but were criminal losers... how in the name of God, I wonder, could this father, his sister, or anyone from that family allow this child to go to that craphole.... there were far too many people living there... the mother of Shanyia apparently he dumped for her drug lifestyle, she has a sister who is on drugs and the place just got busted for drugs during the summer, surely that must have been in the newspaper or word around the mobile home that that happened. The mother is a given – lowlife scumbag – but something is not right with this father, several kids, none with his last name, and to turn Shanyia over to that person they are calling her mother... this guy is no holy roller – he seems a bit strange to me as well. Believe me, my grandmother and great aunts and grandfather that raised me, and would NEVER, EVER let me go with my parents, not for a minute. And they were not even close to these scumbags. Even his sister, she is an adult, she dropped her off, what happened to her intuitiveness, her motherly feelings, her bonding and love with Shanyia, that mobile home must have been as crappy on the outside as on the inside.... how could anyone let this child go through that door knowning who was inside, and from the beautiful home she just came from with the beautiful clothes, and how she was cared for. I will be honest, I would have grabbed Shanya and have said forget about it, and just took her home with me. This was premediated, and the mother begged for Shanyia because she knew she owed drug money to McNeil and used Shanyia as payment. The only innocence lost here is Shanyia's.
How often do I read blogs in which it seems as if, statistically, more men (including me) are in favor of capital punishment than women are for various heinous acts of murder and terrorism. But I sure do see a whole lot of women posting comments on this blog about how these people should be put out of everyone’s misery. For cryin’ out loud! Is this what it finally takes to get people to see what over-indulgence of the criminal element in this country can lead to?? I’m not saying that the life of this little girl wasn’t precious, and that these people don’t deserve to die, because they DO. But let’s not forget that all of these other murderers, people who rape and kill their victims, people who blow up airplanes, even people who murder other people in simple hold-ups for a few measly dollars, these people also cause untold suffering to their victims, and to the families of their victims. When are we going to start being more concerned about the feelings of the families of victims than for their killers? The father was overseas working and he wasn't able to go by and check on his baby girl. But, the aunt was there and knew what the little girl was going to. She should have checked on the little girl more and even the half brother. But, what I think isn't coming out it, the aunt and the mother got into it over Shaniya. Did Mario have those boy's clothing in his car with intentions of disguising Shanyia as a boy? Why would he drive 40 miles to a hotel room to rape her? He may have had another set of clothing, a different size, and that is what he changed Shanyia into. Perhaps something went wrong with the exchange.I'm not saying he's innocent AT ALL !!

I can't understand why the dad left her there either. When I was separated I had a 4 year old son and my ex was a partier. Nothing like these skanks. He drank and maybe smoked a little weed, nothing out of control. I would never let my son spend the night there. Not because I was afraid of anything my ex would do but just that he was irresponsible and I wanted my son to have a good meal and a decent nights sleep. My ex had a tendancy to plop my kid in front of a television for hours on end. I would always ask my son before each visit, Do you want to go or stay with mom. He'd say stay with me because we did things together. Why would Lockhart leave his daughter there and not even ask her what she wanted to do? She was 5 for crying out loud. She could tell him. Even if he had to call her and use some sort of code like say butterfly if you want to come home, flowers if you want to stay. Something is messed up about that. I think it was neglectful on his end. What I don't understand is why the woman who saw the cigarette burns did not take photos and go to the police and DSS and threaten them. Tell them it's been documented, if anything happens to this child I will bring this forth in a suit against you. You will be held accountable if you do not get this child out of harms way. I am not in any way trying to lessen the blame on the two who have already been charged in this horrific crime. However, it does seem strange to me that while McNeil has an extensive criminal history he has never been charged with any type of sex crime perpetrated against a child or adult, or if so it has not been mentioned. Sex offenders usually have a pattern of behavior that doesn't seem to match his prior criminal convictions. It just seems to me that there is a missing piece of the puzzle, perhaps other parties involved that need to be brought to justice. May all involved in the death of this little angel be exposed and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

This is so so sad, I can't get over the fact that her mother would give her away in such a way. Yet, I am not surprised. 2 Tm 3:1-5 tells us that in the "last days" people will have "no natural affection....without love of goodness". Whether we are religious people or not, we can't help but notice that times are getting worse and unspeakable acts are being committed. It does not seem to be getting better. My question is when did the mother contact 911 in reference to the video picture of the little girl at the hotel? Could the mother have received a call from the kidnapper that something had gone wrong and Shaniya was dead and she paniced and call 911 and came up with the whole story of her being on the couch and now missing? This whole story seems full of crap from the mother.

When will the parents stop believing that they have young adults with them? This woman thought she had a "good," not a child. I'm talking about raising children to be their own age until their actually, "of" age. Watching a talk show,I saw a young girl had a 3 yr. old, had hoop earrings on her, her hair all twisted up, bracelet, all the ornaments. The baby looked 13, or at least the young Mother was trying to make her look as stylish as possible. They aren't accessories, they're not tradeable for better services, they are innocent blank children. More mandatory birth control education and more responsibility by the residential custodial parents, we are a country without morals, this has been proven. Along with a lot of people, I will see her beautiful little face daily for the rest of my life–all of these innocent angels we fail to protect. Lately, most of the time when there is a rape, kidnapping or murder of a child, that perpetrator has been on the streets doing evil things for years and years and the justice system just slaps them on the wrist w/early releases, etc–why give an early release to a child molester when it's already been proven they have an extremely low "cure" rate?? It must be terribly heartrending for the police and investigators to see firsthand what these evil people do, work to catch them and provide evidence and then the system lets them skip out of full responsibility–I agree w/Grandmother in Michigan–we all need to get on this and stay on it until laws are changed. Shaniya was such a beautiful little girl. I am so sorry this kind of thing can happen to a small child. I know her father and the rest of her family will be grieving for the rest of their lives. I hope her mother, or whatever she calls herself, gets the same kind of charges and justice as the scumbag that killed her. I hope they meet their fate in prison. And noone needs to be talking about the dad or the aunt. It was very noble of him to let the child stay with her mother. Every child and every mother needs a chance together. I know he would not have put Shaniya in any kind of situation, where he thought she would be hurt. It is this monster of a so called mother who is to blame. If she owed money, there is a thing most people do, that is called, get a job. I only have a high school education and I always found a job when I was looking for one. My own belief that it was a little too late....... I believe that this baby girl was never really cared for properly. Not with mom and not with dad. What a shame. The mothers addiction was way more important than that baby girl. I believe that she agreed to give her up for sexual use to clear her debt with this drug dealer that clearly was not afraid to use violence or a weapon (prior charges) and she agreed to give Shaniya to that man for sick sexual pleasure, and filed a report with the police with the thought that maybe she could report her daughter missing, the police would quickly search and find Shaniya then her debt would not be due her daughter would be home and that monster would be in jail for kidnapping Shaniya...... but, it was a little too late. If this was not her plan she could have let him take her, have his way and return her later.

Did you see the interview when the father came on screen when Shaniya's half brother was being interviewed by Nancy Grace. He pratically had him in headlock. When people from Fayetteville write they all have the same opinion that Lockart knew the Mobile Trailer Park real well and what kind of people live there. If you side with him you are setting an example for other neglecful uncaring parents to act the same way and pull the tears and sympathy card when the child is dead. Please cover the responsability of a parent and the resources available to investigate where you send your kids.

When I first saw on the news she was missing, pray. Then as it started to unfold in front of our eyes, her demise, how can her mother have let her own child suffer?!!! But as many of us ask, what was her father thinking in letting Antoinette Davis, mother of Shaniya, in "giving her a chance?" He knew her history, a short time of working and saying that your clean is not even close to being sufficient to make a decision as did. No checks, no calls, no going to Antoinette Davis home to routinely check the premises? The girl was pulled out of school. How could he have not known or even checked with the school? Was she attending the same school as when she was with her dad, or was she enrolled in a different school? Why didn't the school notify him? Why did not continue his involvement in his daughters daily schedule, especially for unity of 2 parents that are not together? With all the "talk" by family members and friends that the mother was still doing drugs, that she lived with her sister (not her own place,) working or not working, physical marks of abuse, how could he not know, unless he chose not to be involved or totally naive??? Sounds like he's been around the block, his guilt has to be overcoming, and should be. Those family and friends that have gone on national TV and stated the witness of drug use, physical abuse and living coniditions-shame on them!! Why didn't they report it!!! But they can talk on TV but not to authorities!! All the finger pointing, all someone had to do is speak up, the family would have been followed by child protective services, the father should have been much more responsible-would-coulda-shoulda-Miss Shaniya Davis would still be alive today. The father lives in a beautiful, clean, upscale home-he sent his daughter to live in feces. My anger over this particular case is unforgiving for mother, the jerk that sexually abused and killed her, most of all her father. To see him crying and praying, talking to God makes me sick. Some of his other children are with others, he ships off little Shaniya-passing the buck. The list goes on and on. I pray that this case is handled to the T, no mistakes, and all those guilty are charges and found guilty, given the death penalty, if they make it that far in prison amongst fellow inmates that have their own "laws." I read an earlier blog, the thought that Shaniya was sexually abused in her home first, that's why there was feces all over her blanket. I agree with the theory that in the short time Shaniya was with her mother, that this was not the first time she was sexually abused, that's why she didn't go to school, because then she would "tell." I am a mother of a 23 year old son, an 8 year old son and Nana to my beautiful almost 3 year old granddaughter. I cannot imagine any of them suffering such as Shaniya did. The father of my 23 year has been a drug user, alcohol abuse, can't keep a job, got robbed every payday, never home, and abused me for the duration of our relationship-we have been divorced since 1995 and I am remarried. I've been there done that. To this day, he is on the same path. Some people change, some don't. McNeil, justice system failed us. Antoinette Davis-justice system failed us. Being the mother of two beautiful little girls just a little younger than Shaniyah this story hurts me to my soul! What I find so shocking is that when the "mother" (if that's what you want to call her) makes her appearance in court she is just as calm as can be. I am the father of two adopted children, a girl 6 and a boy 2. Thinking about any abuse of children makes me sick in my heart. When I read about this, I look at my children and imagine my children place in these situations. My heart hurts so bad. This, however, goes far beyond child abuse. These heathens, both McNeil and the mother, have no business being called humans. Even animals are more civilized than them. He needs his thing cut off. The father (and I use this term sarcastically) is just as guilty. How could he send this child into such an environment. Simple child neglect is too light of a charge for him. Did child welfare office know of the situation? If so, they share the blame. I've seen several comments about why the school didn't report her absent. I am a teacher in a middle school. Most schools have a policy that they are required to call after 3 absences. How many days was she absent? It would be very difficult for one secretary to call every parent of each student that was absent for one day. May all those involved get what they deserve

I couldn't agree more that Shaniya's father has a large portion of the blame. He had a one night stand of unprotected safe with Antoinette. No decent human being would do that these days. He is either an ex-drug addict or still one. He needs to ask for God's forgiveness for putting that child in that situation. I do believe mom can be prosecuted. I do know that a mom was convicted and found guilty of sexual abuse towards her kids, without even laying a finger on them. She knew and let it happen by her boyfriend, a convicted sexual offender. That was here in Collin County, TX. She's serving life.

I am so sick and tired of these hate filled child abusers. I cry and pray for all children to be safe. It is a shame that kids can't be kids anymore. As a parent of 2 kids it pains my heart to hear about these stories. I AM SO ANGRY! When I was a kid I would ride my bike all over town and didn't worry about someone snatching me from the face of the earth. Times are so different now you can't take your eyes off of your kids for a second. It is such a frightening, vicious world we live in.

The saying "It takes a village to raise a child" The village was the cause of her demise.The emotions deplayed by Bradley and his sister was faked from the beginning to the end. If pedophilia is treated as an illness to which there is no cure from, but because it is a dangerous "illness", why can't they lobotomize these people? That way they are vegetables who can't hurt anyone. It sure would be a deterrant. I am sure there is a way to medically "cut out" the part of the brain that is hard wired like that. Maybe give the defendant a choice "death penalty", or "lobotomy".

What happened to the death penalty for kidnapping ?Where did it go and why ?I think it's overdue to look at this law again or how about life of solitary confinement? I am not kidding . I am very serious and it's time we get it.

As an inactive law officer and a past rape vic. I do agree with the law but as a mother of 3 and grandmother , I need justice for this baby, I have questions about the missing times for the mother , I think she was there why that animal hurt and killed her baby, What I want to know is you need to be cleared and have a ID to get a dog from the shelter but the state could not protect this child, I think the mother and that man will get the death penalty, But for me the justice will come in the form of the prisoners who know how to deal with this kind harm dealt against a baby .And it wont be a needle that gets them, But alot of angry prisoners that hate people who hurt children. I went to the funeral for Shaniya Davis. It was a beautiful homegoing for a beautiful child. Her fathers words touched me deeply. There were over 2,000 people in attendance at the services.
I hope these two monsters have it so bad they will beg to get the death penalty. Nobody likes child molesters and killers in prison – even there, there is a certain honor code. Please don't protect them by putting them in protective custody. I don't know what is going on with this world that it creates such monsters like these two and others like Cheyenne Cherry here in NY who burned that poor kitten alive in the oven – they all have one thing in common...evil dead eyes. What was wrong with that father to hand this poor baby over to that crack whore when he had other relative willing and able to take her.

I'm trying to figure out why she took so long to call the Police and why she claim the child was kidnapped as opposed to abducted. I hate to say this but I think this had been going on for a while and when he didn't bring her back on time she got upset because she saw her child as a way of supplying her drugs. I also think Shaniya was killed accidently because both of thease sicko's enjoyed that arrangement. I really feel bad for the Dad because no matter what, Im sure he had No idea it would end like this. I wanted to know how Bradley and Shaniya's mom became to be a couple. I know drugs can cause people to fall and go down terrible paths in their lives. Bradley seems to be a faithful believer... was the mom a strong Christian and then took a turn for the worse? How did these people get together... then have such a gorgoeous child and then seem to go in opposite directions.
We need to remember that justice is God's job. We may punish these people for breaking the laws, but we are not responsible for avenging Shaniya's death. God loves these people just as much as he loves us – H hates what they have done, but He still loves the people.
I lost a daughter due to Diabetes. She was 40. The pain was and is immeasurable. I cannot imagine the pain one must feel to lose a child in such a horrendous way. I am now the guardian of my 12 year old granddaughter. I live in an upscale neighborhood. Still, I do not allow her to go outside–EVER–withoug an adult right by her side.
We must protect our children. I think too many of us think 'It could never happen to me.' I am sure that the parents who lost their children because of an evil predator are wishing they had been more careful with their precious children.
I for one will go down in the records as over-protective. I'm proud of it. My granddaughter will not be abducted if I have anything to do with it.

I think we can blame all this insanity on several things. The american society has gone down the tubes. Just look at all the immoral things you see on TV, at the movies, stuff you read in print, music on the radio, parents not being parents, schools being nothing more than baby sitters,people not letting GOD in their life, and on and on. Dear Lord. Is this what our society has become? It sickens me to believe that these people are wandering the streets targeting children. While my outrage is screaming for his immediate torture, dismemberment, and subsequent execution; I cannot help but feel an overwhelming loss for all of us. I look into the sweet, trusting eyes of my own little girl and weep at the thought of what that poor child must have felt and thought in her final minutes. God help us all if we continue down this path. It's time to step up the deterrent efforts. Public executions for these animals is a good start.

Why have warrants for the man that didn't admit to murder and rape charges. Where is the proof? that this man did this to Shaniya?. I will agree that the father shouldn't have handed this innocent child to the mother. That was bad judgement. I also think that the mom should be tested for a mental disorder. I also think that a 2nd search should be done to prove the facts of this case since it is on-going case. Prevention is the key to prevent more children that go missing.

I agree with Busy mom, people need to take responsibility for their kids, family, and community.....make the call if you don't want your kids or if you know of abuse. And family members get out of denial about offenders and abusers in your family. I am astounded by the parental support of criminals during court...where the hel_ where you when the kid was being raped and tortured? So yeah the american people are outraged and this is wonderful because it would be tragic to reach the point of desensitization....& lack of empathy.

When are we, as a society, going to stand up and say, "enough is enough"? It is not okay to murder your child. It is not okay to murder anybody else's child. Children are not sexual objects and it is not okay to look at them as such. Why do we continue to tolerate this? We don't have to. We could do something about it. I agree with all who say, all the adults in this case are culpable. The dad, old enough to know better. He didn't care. Glad, I suspect, to be relieved of his responsibility. There was absolutely no reason for him to think things were okay and send her off without monitoring the situation, checking on the child, start with some short little day visits instead. No, just drop her off into this hellhole and wish her well... and the mom should absolutely be charged with murder. She placed this child in the situation knowing that at the very least she was going to be traumatized and injured and at 5 years old, great likelihood for severe bodily injury, as 5 year old little bodies aren't designed for what this mother intended. I wouldn't be surprised if she knew this child wasn't coming home since, how else were they going to keep her quiet whenever the dad did come calling to check on her?

I was wondering if the police says that Shaniya died the same day she disappeared how did they come to that conclusion. Was she not alive on the video when she came out? because as soon as the video of her going in it was not long after that the police taught that she was alive. On her memorial they stated that she died monday november 16th. Why the discrepancy? I cannot wait for the whole true story to come out.

I love your show and I watch you every night. If i can't watch live I record you on my DVR. I appreciate the fact that you talk about topics that no one else will touch with a ten foot pole. Somebody has to stick up for the little ones in our country. You have inspired me to be a better person and to be more aware of what is going on around me. Your babies are gorgeous. I'm glad your mom is OK. I have a wonderful one myself. My dad died when I was two years old. At the age of 23 my mom had sole responsibility for a 4, 2 and 1 year old. She knew where we were at any given moment every single day. She went without so that we could have what we needed. That is what a mom is and what a mom does. If you ever watch mother dogs with their puppies they don't let anyone that they don't know near their babies. Sometimes even if they do know them they don't. Mothers are supposed to love and protect their babies. I can't imagine a mother doing the things to her babies that Antoinette Davis did to her baby Shaniya. I am not a violent person but I believe that this Antoinette should receive the same fate as another Antoinette(Marie). Don't even get me started on that McNeil jackass. Being from Texas I am totally in favor of the death penalty. The criminals are put to death in a much more humane way than their victims were.

Nancy, I'm 15& I love your show & I love the time you've spent on poor Shaniya's case. You commit to a case until you get all the known details and facts and I love what you do for these children and give them a voice to speak out with. In terms of the case, STOP BLAMING THE FATHER. Blame the people who actually committed the crime knowing what they were doing. (Mother&Mario Mcneil) The last thing on a father's mind is ' is my child going to get sold for prostitution and killed?' He did nothing wrong in the sense of him knowing anything. He did what he thought was a favor for the mother, and it turned out to be a huge mistake. It is not his fault that she was murdered and raped. It was fully the mother and Mcneil's fault for putting her into a situation that could get her killed. I don't even understand how Mcneil is doing nothing but smirking in his picture. He doesn't look at all like he feels like he committed a disgusting crime. And I've been wondering, did they find any marks on Mcniel that could possibly be from Shaniya? Like scratches or signs of struggle that showed she tried to get away when he took her? I don't have any doubt in my mind he didn't take her. Lord knows he did. I just don't want the mother or mcneil getting away from any offenses they commited.
Everybody write or call the North Carolina DA's office and demand the death penalty. Getting mad is not enough. We need to take action.
I would like to comment on this case. First that how can the man be charged with murder and rape if there is no proof to back it up. I am getting sick of seeing the police have charges against the man with murder and rape charges-if he didn't admit then don't charge someone with a crime that they didn't admit to. Since this is a on going case I would suggest that a 2nd search take place for the benefit of Shaniya's family.
I would also like to share my thoughts about this unusual case–why didn't the dad of Shaniya hand over her to the mom. Personally he made a big mistake in judgment. The same when police said the charges to the mom for saying that she had a role in this case-what proof is there to backup the charges?. I also suggest that the mom undergo a test to see if she is "mentally ill". In regards to the service that was held for Shaniya yesterday- I think that they should have put the service on hold to make sure that this is Shaniya Davis. A week search to look for someone is not enough.
I live one county over from where this took place, I look at pictures of this helpless, beautiful little girl and think about my son, age 7. How could any human do something like this to a child that is so pure and innocent. Being thankful that the rapist, murdering bastard was caught, he needs not to be put in prison, with 3 meals a day and a roof over his head, he needs his penis cut off, each of his hands that touched her and put beside the road left to die. As for the "mother" she is no mother, no mother who subject her child to this, no mother would give her child to someone in exchange for anything, she is just as guilty as McNeil and deserves to die of a horrible death just like she allowed her daughter to die. The saddness of this is that she is carrying another child to whom she would subject to the same torture. She doesn't deserve to breathe air. So, this will take how long to go to trial? The laws need to be changed to protect the children. Any monster that would have sex with children or any parent that would allow this to there children do not deserve to live. He has been pleading ignorance the entire time, as has his sister. I think his two older kids know exactly why Shaniya was sent away. When Nancy tried to question the oldest son, Lockhart made sure he was right there. His posture when he snuck up behind the young man was almost aggressive. I didn't view it as supportive at all.

Nancy, i have watched your program for awhile now, I wanted to let you know after watching the case on little Caylee Anthony .My husband I made a very hard decision and took custody of our 7 year old grandaughter.(actually not that hard) Her mother(our daughter) was making some bad choices in her life from the people she was socializing with to men she was dating. I took my daughter and the biological father to court 1 time and had custody of her! It was the best 750.00 we had ever spent! one hour of our life has made a change in my grandaughter life at least we know she is safe! Then I watch your show on little Shania and know this was the best thing my husband and I have EVER done! At this point in my daughters life I could not imagine ever giving her back! I'm not going to critize Shanias father for what has happen to his beautiful little angel. Who would ever think that a Mother would do such a horrible thing to an innocent child! At first I thought Antoinette and Mario should be put to death, but I've changed my mind. There would be no better justice than life in prison. Every day wondering what was going to happen to them....... Spit and urine in their meals at lunchtime. Which fellow inmate would rape them next? I feel that both the mother and the killer should both be sentenced to death. Any person who would just hand their child over to people to pay any kind of debt should be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law. There is no excuse for what has happened to this child. The truth of the matter is that this has been going on for decades and now that times have changed it is now out in the open.
