Search continues for missing 4-year-old boy

A desperate search is underway for 4-year-old, Marc Anthony Bookal. The toddler vanished more than 48 hours ago from his Newburgh, NY home, while under the care of his mother’s boyfriend, Cory Byrd. Byrd, whose history includes a criminal conviction for reckless child endangerment, told cops that Marc vanished just before he was to take the boy to visit a relative.

Today cops are combing areas near the boy’s home, including a waterfront and a local cemetery. The Hudson River is located approximately five blocks from the home where Marc was last seen. Investigators are also going door-to-door and checking abandoned buildings for any sign of the toddler.

An Amber Alert was not issued, police say, because there is no witnessed abduction in the case and because no vehicle is believed to be involved in Marc’s disappearance. Marc weighs 42 pounds and stands 3-and-a-half feet tall. He was wearing a red, long-sleeve shirt, gray Rocawear sweatpants and Nike Uptown sneakers when he was last seen. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Newburgh Police Department at (800) 346-3543. Florida baby and her yellow blanket disappear in middle of the night

CNN) - Whatever happened to baby Sabrina?

After vanishing from her home in 1997, Sabrina Aisenberg's whereabouts remain a mystery.
Parents Marlene Aisenberg, 47, and Steve Aisenberg, 46, continue to believe their daughter, who would be 12 now, was kidnapped and is being raised by another family.

"We just can't shake the feeling that Sabrina is alive," Steve Aisenberg said. “We think that whoever took our daughter did so because they desperately wanted a child of their own. But we want her back. She belongs with us."

Some believe the Aisenbergs were involved in their baby's disappearance.
In 1999, federal prosecutors in Florida filed charges against Marlene and Steve Aisenberg for conspiracy and false statements.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office conducted wire-tappings and recorded conversations in the Aisenbergs' bedroom and kitchen, according to the Aisenbergs. But in 2001, a federal judge accused the detectives of lying about their case against the Aisenbergs. The judge ordered some of the evidence collected from the bugs to be thrown out.

Search for 28-year-old mom continues

Husband Joshua Powell says he took an impromptu camping trip at midnight, the same night his wife disappeared. He told police he went with his 2-year-old and 4-year-old sons with him, in subfreezing temperatures and snow-covered ground, leaving his wife sleeping at home.

Now there are new reports that police discovered two fans blowing over a wet spot on the living room floor of the Powell home when they smashed through a window last Monday in fear the whole family may have been victims of carbon monoxide poisoning, Police won’t confirm the reports. Police do confirm that there is no other evidence of a break-in to the Powell home and that all doors and windows were locked when the entered to search the home.

Family members insist Susan Powell would never voluntarily stay away from her children this long without being in touch with her family. She left behind her cell phone, purse, wallet and house keys. The Powell’s only have one car, the van Joshua Powell took camping that night, so the young mother of two did not drive off by herself! Police say this is still a missing person’s investigation and they are still trying to investigate the campsite to confirm Powell’s camping story, but so far the weather and fresh snow has hampered this part of the police investigation. Search warrants were executed on both the Powell home-results may come at any moment!
