Man convicted of stalking Madonna and threatening her with a knife escapes from mental hospital! Cops say the man is "highly psychotic" without his meds and can be extremely violent!
A desperate search is underway for 4-year-old, Marc Anthony Bookal. The toddler vanished more than 48 hours ago from his Newburgh, NY home, while under the care of his mother’s boyfriend, Cory Byrd. Byrd, whose history includes a criminal conviction for reckless child endangerment, told cops that Marc vanished just before he was to take the boy to visit a relative.
Today cops are combing areas near the boy’s home, including a waterfront and a local cemetery. The Hudson River is located approximately five blocks from the home where Marc was last seen. Investigators are also going door-to-door and checking abandoned buildings for any sign of the toddler.
An Amber Alert was not issued, police say, because there is no witnessed abduction in the case and because no vehicle is believed to be involved in Marc’s disappearance. Marc weighs 42 pounds and stands 3-and-a-half feet tall. He was wearing a red, long-sleeve shirt, gray Rocawear sweatpants and Nike Uptown sneakers when he was last seen. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Newburgh Police Department at (800) 346-3543. Something isn't right about this.....the mother is way too calm...and the man cory byrd spent time in prison ten years ago for beating her then 14 month old child...it doesn't make sense that no one saw him....i'm in Newburgh everyday i go through that area and there are always people around....if he would have left at 120 pm someone would have seen him....My money is on the step dad and id bet the mom has some idea of what happened also...
Why are we dragging the Tiger Woods story on and on? Once we get some concrete info of what Tiger and his wife going to do then they problem can be talk about. Tiger is not the loser. All them mistresses coming forward are the losers and looking stupid. There's biggest story should be cover. We need to cover story about our young people today. Our young kids are being molested, kidnapped, abuse and killed by the minutes each day. Why aren't we covering story about the corrupt parole groups releasing these felonies from prison before their time is up.

this story just doesnt add up....she used to be my neighbor and for something like this to happen all of a sudden to the baby is beyond disgusting because she let it happen. im not sure if they found the body but all the news casters are down by the hudson river right now as we speak. i just hope justice is served.
1. Why is the bus driver allowed to give that boy over...even if he has court papers...that is not to be her/his action to follow...did he stop the bus and surely hearing any child begging for help is a RED flag...and it should have NEVER been done.
2. Bus driver should take him home where he got on the bus or back to school....not turned over to a man who child is calling a stranger...I thi9nk bus driver should have order him off the bus court order or not...
3. How in the world is a bus driver suppose to be the authority on court documents...school officials should have alerted that bus driver or any bus drivers before any child is turned over...

It is just beyond me why this young boy couldn't have been taken to the police station and held until his mother was present, in order to find out for sure where the boy belonged???? No one should ever release a child under duress to anyone until you are for sure where he should be. I bet that police officer feels awful. I wonder if the school bus driver knew anything and didn't speak up because a policeman was present? I feel so bad for that child, for once a child was able to call out for help, but it didn't help. Nancy, I am a true fan of yours and appreciate all you do for missing and murdered childfren. I feel that you and CNN are covering way too much on Tiger Woods. I think the poor children are taking a backseat to a cheating, lying billionaire. Please dont fall into the same category of tabloids, and others making money on popularity news. Please put priority first eventhough I know CNN has the last word on coverage. Please remember everytime Tigers name is mentioned he and is mistress make money and missing children get less air time.

This is a very serious and newsworthy story. However, Nancy Grace hardly touched on the subject on the television show. What is the reason for almost the entire one-hour broadcast covering Tiger Woods' situation (sensational!!) night before last; hardly reported any information regarding this little boy...or others who may be in harm's way!
Tiger Woods' children do not seem to be in any danger. Why spend so much air time reporting gossip! Nancy Grace has more class and more empathy than to be sucked in to this type of "investigative" reporting.

This is very sad but it also makes me wonder why anyone with children would be involved with a man who has a history of child endangerment.

WHY is there no Amber Alert?????? The child is MISSING! We recently had a young girl missing in Ontario – and she was later found dead. No amber alert was issued. She might have been saved if there was. After she was found – the Amber Alert specifications were changed. Should be changed in NY as well – this child is missing and quite possibly in immediate danger!!! Time and time again we have seen our innocent children taken away by scum only to show up dead after the fact. Someone has seen this child!!!!!!
God I pray for the recovery for this little boy. My hope he is found safe and sound; but my conscience and experience is telling me something else. As the female rock singer Pat Benetar sang in the 80's "Hell is for Children", it unfortunately is this way for many children in the 'burgh (Newburgh). I'm just so upset about all these news items about stolen and killed children, especially children who are murdered or who suffer because of divorced parents and bi-national parents. We are a wounded country. We can't do anything about divorces or children in single families. I'm beginning to think that many of us parents are so wounded by our own parents' divorce that these issues affect us even more than it should.
So not only is David Goldman not getting Sean back today but a little boy was stolen by his non-custodial abusive father through tricking some judge and Mark is gone...probably dead. What is happening in this world?.

To Shari and the others that think we don't understand these sick ppl that kill or harm children. Indeed the law has done studies on these ppl and do know how they work and why they do it. you may not but the police does.there is no reason to 'spare' them or try to work with them for any reason. there are many ppl that have been abused over the years and yet don't hurt children, these ppl do this because they want to. I believe in family and it's sad to say another family has been broken up due to infidelity. Please lets move on and let Tiger and his wife deal with their issues. We need to concentrate on our own relationships and make sure that our spouses are not out their like Tiger was or still is. Lets move on to more important issues; like finding these missing children.

If the boy is not alive and the the boyfriend is charged and convicted, Of course he'll have 5 chances at appeal. Also at the trial they won't be able to bring up his past – which I think is a crock. A person's past is what the person is capable of doing, it shows their modus operendai. But, of course there are those Attorney's who will say a person's past has nothing to do with the current case. Bull – it sure does. More people would be put away if jurors knew of people's pasts. Many people get away with murder. Our justice system leaves a lot to be desired as it does not serve all of the people the same.
I used to supervise child abuse investigations and I was also at one time the interm supervisor for our states missing child location team. This sounds like the child has been murdered by a close person, either the current care taker or maybe even before the current care taker was present and later in co-operations between the killer and current caregiver. very sad. I am glad I am not working in that field anymore.

We wanted to know what the judge rules in the Anthony case. I speake for myself, but from what I'ver read here many of your veiwers are ready to move on from Tiger. Fla. offcials say no crime was committed, so please stop pursuing the non-story of Tiger Woods. We are not guesome, but with the way you have of getting the news and the way in which you present it, I get more from you than the national news. What the hell is wrong with parents these days? Why are the allowed to make assanign decisions that put these innocent babies in danger or cause their deaths. The laws need to be changed so these monsters called "parents" will spend the rest of their pathetic lives in prison.
I can't beleive a mother would let her child be left with this guy. I am sure she is aware of any abuse those children received from him. I'm over Tiger Woods already. I am more concerned about this little boy and the missing mother in Utah. What an adult does in their personal life behind closed doors is between them and their spouse. I can't believe that Elin would not have had a clue as to any of these affairs (if the women's words can even be believed). She's not naive either. Dear Nancy, In my opinion, talk about the celebrity treatment. I feel if Tiger Woods were not a celebrity, we would be hearing the most important issue in this story, which I have not heard brought up yet. I truly believe it is highly likely he has put his wife's and perhaps childrens' health and life at risk with STD's and HIV with his alleged numerous sexual partners, which I feel many of these women have very low morals if any at all, and we can only imagine how many partners these other women have had. I highly doubt that all these times Woods has worn a condom. I don't think money is the issue at all. I don't mean to be alarming, but I don't understand why we haven't heard this. In such a case as this health risk to his wife, I hope she gets every penny he has, only because I feel he has promised fidelity and yet with such alleged promiscuity, he has put his wife at such high risk of disease and perhaps her life with HIV, you can't put a monetary value on that. Although this may not show up for years in his wife or children. I first hoped they would work their marriage out, but how long should she wait, until she's dying from such a disease? There are good men out there who are celebrities, and I feel at best he's completely selfish and narcissistic. And only a DR. could evaluate what other serious issues this man has. Not all men are like this poor excuse of a man who needs to control others to make him feel better about himself. How sad for his family. He's the one who pretended to be married and I don't know how he can face himself in the mirror. No prenup should be able to over ride such a health risk such as this. Or she should be able to sue him in court for such risky behavior to her and her childrens health after all these numerous alleged affairs have come to light, which if true, can be proved. Health risk to life, perhaps should over ride no fault divorce. Because of this I think his behavior is just criminal. I use to be his biggest fan before this. Now I have no doubt he uses anyone and everyone for his own agenda. I'm not a doctor but I have to wonder if this borders on signs of a sociopath with him having no conciounce at all. I believe this is why this is such a big story. This reminds me of a highly talented Doctor who may have gased people. Great skills are nothing without a conciounce and morals. I heard that the last time this boy was left in the boyfriend's care he ended up with 2nd degree burns on his hands. This mother is the worst, she had to know what this man was capable of. I was wondering what happen to the little African boy that had croutches on his feet that was dropped of by the Foster Parent that was in a hair salon to take him & when he went to the back of the salon the boy was missing from the BMW...I haven't heard anything else about it & that happen a few months ago... There is something so fishy about this story. Personally i can feel this to a great degree. My grandson walked out of our house and we had no idea. however, we found him not even 15 mins later. This story includes prior abuse of the elder sibling. Now the baby is missing without a trace? I say watch both theses people, the step father and the Mother seem questionable. Many women have children simply for the welfare checks. They don't care about the children and will find ways to use the welfare checks for booze or drugs. They even pimp their own children.
As for the boyfriend in these situations, he often beats and rapes both the mother and her children. Mother stays with him because she is penniless, has no high school degree, and must depend on the boyfriend. Sometimes he is her pimp. If the boyfriend sexually abuses the son/daughter, Mother will tell the child not to say anything and that they will be in trouble if the child spoke up. In many cases, the mother blames the daughter (5 yo, 8 yo, 11 yo child, etc.) for "seducing" the adult boyfriend. In one case I handled, the mother slapped her 11 yo daughter when the latter told her that stepfather was abusing her sexually. THe mother said, "You are in big trouble now!"
These incidents happen countless times everyday, in countless families. You just don't know about them unless you work in law enforcement, social welfare, or the legal profession. The things you read about in the newspapers are barely the tip of the iceberg. The next time you see a child, be nice to him/her. You don't know what kind of secrets that child is keeping.

Well I can honestly say that this story doesn't particularly shock me... Newburgh is a total waste. Newburgh is full of nothing but crackheads, drug dealers, and sex offenders. Can you address what criteria is required for an Amber Alert? It does not make sense that there has to be a witnessed abduction....Wasn't the Amber Alert created as a result of the Adam Walsh abduction, and no one ever saw someone take that child? In most cases, if someone was watching these children, they could not be taken, but it is the only means they have to get the word out to all the law enforcement agencies so that there is a cohesive effort to locate the child.

I am curious why there must be a witnessed abduction before there is an Amber Alert issued. The fact that there is a four year old child missing should be reason enough to issue a nationwide alert. Just because no one witnessed him being taken, does not mean that people shouldn't be on the lookout for him. I wonder how many people including law enforcement have seen this boy without ever knowing that people were looking for him. The most critical time after a child goes missing is the first 48 hours....shouldn't people be made aware so they know if they see him. In January 1996, nine-year old Amber Hagerman was riding her bicycle when a neighbor heard the girl scream. The neighbor saw a man pull Amber off her bike, throw her into the front seat of the pickup truck, and drive away at high speed. A concerned citizen contacted a Dallas, TX radio station suggesting the idea that Dallas radio stations should repeat news bulletins about abducted children just like they do severe weather warnings. The idea was presented to the general managers of the radio stations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. They agreed such a program would provide an important public service and might help save the life of a child.
The Dallas Amber Plan was started in July of 1997 to help safely recover missing children that police believe have been abducted. Since then, the program has successfully recovered eight children and expanded to other cities and states nationwide.

I am a faithful fan of yours and never miss a show but I really think the whole Tiger Woods thing is way overdone. Who really care about the problems that he and his wife are having? Let them deal with them without our interference. There are many missing and murdered children and adults all around that need the attention. Tiger, Elin and their children don't need our help but what about the Cailee Anthonys, Hailee, Hassani, and the missing moms, college students, etc. Nancy, you seem to be losing site of what is important here. I know that Justice is important but Tiger and his family can make it without you but can these missing ones?
I really believe there should be tracking devices for children. (I know there are some obvious ones out there, I'm talking implanted). If a child goes missing we know exactly where they are, perhaps before they are harmed, and if they are harmed, where it took place. This would lead to faster recovery time, and or rescue. I am tired of people talking about a loss of rights regarding this kind of thing. Where are the rights of these children that are being exploited, killed, or tortured?
My son was raped when he was young, but thankfully he was recovered. So I truly can understand how some of these mothers feel. Had my son had a tracking device, I would have been able to locate him when he was 15 minutes late getting home from school, the rape would not have taken place, as he was kept far longer before actually being hurt.
The other thing is parents have to WAKE UP. I see young kids wandering neighborhoods unattended!!! What is wrong with these parents, don't they get the times we are living in, that no child is safe??????

Nancy I Love your show and watch it every chance I get. Lately, I have been disappointed with the amount of coverage Tiger Woods is getting. Actually I feel that the Tiger Woods scandal, is more appropriate for the National Enquirer than CNN. Please continue doing a good job covering missing child and murder cases, I feel they are much more important.
Let me get this straight....a woman can sign a pre-nup and then re-write it when she decides she wants a divorce? Gee, that makes sense. So the pre-nup means nothing? Tiger was an idiot for getting married in the first place, but no matter what he did, she does not deserve half his money. If she is so much more honorable then he is then she should honor the agreement she signed.

please cover the story out of Salisbury, MD about Sarah Foxwell. She is 11 years old and was taken out of her house in the middle of the night by a 2 time and 2 state sex offender on Tues the 22nd or early hours wed the 23rd and killed...which was just before Christmas then on Christmas Day her tiny body was found not far from her home....hes a repeat sex offender how was he free to kill this little girl???? Please focus some attention on this case!!!
Where was the outrage?
On the night of April 5, Orland Park police arrested Nour Hadid, 26 after paramedics rushed her 2 year-old niece Bhia to Palos Community Hospital. The little girl was unconscious and died from severe injuries to her brain and kidneys, which she sustained during four days of beatings.
Emergency room doctors said that her tiny body was covered with at least 55 bruises. Assistant State's Attorney Debra Lawler told reporters that Bhia had been beaten over and over with wooden spoons by Hadid.
The Jordanian national, who was apparently enraged because her husband accused her of stealing money from him. Hadid has confessed to the murder.
Orland Park Police Chief Tim McCarthy said: “She outlined in detail how the child was abused.”
Of course, Hadid has been charged with the murder of Bhia Hadid and is being held without bail. Her next court hearing is scheduled for April 30.
While the cable and network news outlets have been filled with coverage of the tragic disappearance and murder of Sandra Cantu, along with the ongoing saga of the Caylee Anthony murder, and Haleigh Cummings abduction, not one minute of coverage has been given to the murder Bhia Hadid.
Volumes both in print and online have been written about the little Cantu, Cummings, and Anthony girls, but I have yet to see one article devoted to Hadid except for very brief statements on the case from Chicago-area media outlets (Orland Park is just outside Chicago).
In fact, the only outrage that has been expressed in this case is from the Muslim community, who are outraged not over the little girl’s brutal murder, but over the fact that Nour Hadid was not allowed to wear her headscarf for her mugshot.
Dr. Mohammed Sahloul, chairman of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Chicago, expressed his outrage to the Southtown Star by saying: "they should respect the modesty of the accused."
Hadid’s husband Alaeddin said the mugshot was an "insult against our religion." He has promised to sue the Orland Park Police Department for the photo. He has expressed no similar outrage over his wife beating to death their 2 year-old niece.
Why has the national media chosen to ignore the horrific murder of 2 year-old Bhia Hadid?
This poor little girl had no one to defend her during her short life, that sad fact has changed very little in death.
The Monster Cory Bird killed the boy, just look at those sad eyes trying to smile, he was probably beaten every day until he died and the mother is probably another drug addicted useless being and knows about it.

How many innocent children are going to continue to be mistreated, beaten, and murdered because their own mother's completely selfish need for a man! Makes me sick. Everytime I read where another child has lost his or her life as a direct result of the so-called mother's need for a man, makes me want to work harder to change the laws so that these so-called mothers will be held everybit as accountable as the boyfriend, step-father, live-in, who beats, abuses, and murders the child. This mother evidently allowed this man to continue to be around her child even after he had already been convicted of beating a child! Unbelievable...........this mother needs to never, ever be allowed to have or be around children........she has lost the right!!!!!!! or should I say the meal ticket..........and this so-called stepfather (scum), is a coward, liar, and doesn't deserve to live! But if this mother had truly loved and cared for her child – she would have never let this scumbag come around her child - and this little boy would be alive today......that's right alive. you don't have to have a car to kidnap a child, if a child becomes missing even if the parent or a significant other is a suspect I believe that a AMBER alert should be submitted..

Lea, the Amber Altert was the result of Amber Hagerman a little girl from Arlington Texas that was taken while riding her bike in 1996. When her body was found they discovered she had been alive for two days after the abduction. At the time of her abduction police had a eye witness description of the abductor and his vehicle. The idea is to get the word out to both the public and law enforcement as soon as possible. It has proven very effective where they have a description of a vehicle or person as they are on the move with the child. Its not to encourage watching children...its to catch the person and rescue the child as soon as possible.
Hi Nancy, I live in Lakeland, Fla. I truely think that the grandmother is lying. Also I think she's destroyed evidence in this case. She knnows that Casey killed that baby. Her lawyer also knows it. ANOTHER CHILD WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN LEFT WITH' MOM'S BOYFRIEND'..WHEN WILL THESE WOMEN WAKE UP?
When I saw the face of that crackhead that grabbed that poor little 5 year old girl (that was later apprehended) the picture of these missing children took on a deeper meaning. Children are "things" to these animals, to be used for instant gratification, abused over and over again and be discarded when they tire of them or pi@* them off, like garbage. Amber alerts should be mandatory and issued immediately when a child is reported missing, no doubt about it. Cameras in the area should be checked immediately, cell phones of the parent(s), computers and cars should be searched and analyzed immediately and polygraphs should be given, dna taken, neighbors, family and friends questioned. I am a parent , would comply, or cooperate immediately, and would expect no less than an immediate intense investigation to help find my missing child. Tougher laws should mandate that anyone, man or woman, that abuses a child and is convicted of a crime against a child should have no contact with children upon their release. Anyone who aids and enables an abuser to have contact with a child should be charged. It may be too late for Marc and Nevaeh but if we change the life of one innocent victim in the future it will be worth the inconvenience or "hassle"
This is so sad, why is it, the Police can not out smart the bad guys, I guess there is more of the bad guys, something needs to be done now, make longer sentences, and invoving a child never getting out

angel... I totaly agree with you inregards to the need for more attention of this case!! As of today the SEARCH ENDED! They spent less than a month searching for this little boy. But, they will look into any new leads. Very Sad!

Why oh why is the theme always the same ? The theme that a missing child was left with a boyfriend/girlfriend and the child vanishes? As a single mother it just makes me angry that in most cases its the boyfriend who is finally found out to be the culprit. Why are single mothers so desperate to have a man in their lives at the cost and risk of their own children ? As a mother of two myself, I was single at 26, after my divorce my children were never subjected to my dating situation. Unless the relationship was more serious, my children are completely unaware of boyfriends I have had !
Any sensible woman will be discreet with her relationships and filter the good and bad people. And keep the children out of the picture. Thank goodness I never felt desperate to "find" a man, but thats just my opinion.

Why are we not hearing anything more on this precious little boy who has been missing now for almost 3 months? How can the people in the City of Newburgh not come forth with any information? Somebody, somewhere had to have seen/heard something! This isn't about some drug deal and being a snitch...this is about a little boy's life!!!! Nancy right from the start of this case I had a feeling this boy was dead. Things just did not add up for me. As soon as I learned Cory Byrd was a criminal against children that sealed a guilty verdict in my eyes. Now all I can do is pray for his family, hope that justice is served and ask God to remove these monsters from the face of the earth.
