Extraordinary developments in the case of missing Ohio mom Tiffany Tehan! Cops say Tiffany along with person of interest Tre Hutcherson have been found safely in Miami Beach, Florida - 1,000 miles away from their home in Ohio.
Tehan reportedly told police she left Ohio voluntarily, with the intent of starting a new life.
Miami Beach police also say the two were romantically involved according statements.
So just how did the couple avoid cops?
The Dayton Daily News reporting Hutcherson traded in his 1999 red Volkswagen Beatle just one day before the duo vanished. Reportedly telling the owner of the car dealership he wanted to leave town and needed a better car. Cops then put out an alert on the 2002 Chrysler Sebring, which was reportedly apprehended in Florida.
The Xenia Police say they’ve spent over 200 hours of overtime on the case, and it’s possible Tehan could face charges.

I don't know what's more disturbing, a mom leaving her 1 year old child for a new life or the husband's response to the whole ordeal. The child deserves a better mother and a father who has a backbone.
Well, I hope this woman has to reimburse the costs incurred for the search. How irresponsible! This had "runaway bride" written all over it as soon as the information came to light about her meeting this loser.
How sad...she has a precious baby at home. I have never understood how people can just leave their children for a man. I hope the baby's father will be given full custody....obviously mom doesn't care enough to be a mom!!
I think she ought to face charges – no question. This woman has left a bad taste in the mouth of all of use. She makes it more difficult for law enforcement to take it seriously when another adult vanishes. It leaves LE skeptical and thinking that this is just another runaway. Both of these people out to have to pay back every penny wasted on the effort to find them. Stupid people!
This is absolutely nauseating. She should be totally ashamed of herself, and I hope there are some kind of charges she will be faced with. To leave your husband is one thing; everybody experiences marital trouble. Almost all of us have been married to the wrong person before. I hope she has to repay every cent it took to try to "find" her. She is the reason the police cannot handle true missing person cases in haste, and she is the reason the police are always skeptical from the beginning.

it is absolutely heartbreaking that this lady would just abandon her family. I can not imagine what they must be thinking right now. How can she be charged? Is it against the law to make your own decisions as an adult? It's not like she staged an abduction or anything. She just left. Was she supposed to ask for permission first? I knew it. As soon as they showed the couple together in the gas station, I knew instantly that they were together. I go to church also, but people ought to know by now that just because you are actively involved in your church, that doesn't mean a thing. Sad, but true. Nancy, I love your show and watch it regularly. I live in Ohio about an hour south of Xenia, so this story really hit close to home. I heard a report that the husband had been called by Tiffany and told that it was over, but he continued to pretend that she was missing! Is this true and if so will charges be pressed against the husband?

Mrs. Tehan may have some serious personality disorders as a result of childhood emotional trauma. Her father, the minister, may be another pedophile masquerading as a man of God. I am speculating here, but a childhood of that sort would surely produce a young mother with no sense of reality, no stable empathy, and no idea of how to connect with an infant. Maybe her husband knows about it, which would explain his willingness to forgive her.

Living in Dayton, Ohio this story has been on TV and in our newspaper nonstop. I think the biggest point people are missing is
the "sheltered" life this woman had. Being a minister's daughter and then a minister's wife I don't think she had a chance to "sow her wild oats"
I doubt this is PMD but a woman who met a man that showed her
almost a dreamlike way to live. She probably would have been
better off to have had her "adventures" before she married and became a mom.

Both Mrs Tehan and Mr Hutcherson should face charges and/or be fined. The situation compares with the "Balloon Boy" hoax which used multiple hours, many resources, and serious financial expenditures. All this young woman needed to do was file for a divorce and start her new life at that time.
i have been trying to call your show for 3 days now, i really have a story to tell you, i think these 2 women show be put in jail, i am a single father of a 10 year old and i have had her for 7 years now. I think if i left my daughter with her mom she would have been killed. I wish i could have my right to stand up for fathers.

OMG, another one of these stunts! It's one thing to realize you want something 'better' and to go for it, even if you leave your children behind (how a mother could do that, thankfully I'll never know). But be a big person and don't cowardly sneak off leaving people to assume the worst on your behalf. Leave a note if anything saying what your intentions are so that people can go on with their lives also, and stop being such a selfish person.

I'm not surprised by this outcome. It just didn't have the feel of a woman who was kidnapped, especially when her car was found with the keys inside. I'm glad it wasn't another young woman who was murdered, but this is so sad for the husband and little child involved.
Does anyone else find the husband's reaction a little strange? No anger? When I see his pictures, they scare me. I would be interested to know what an FBI profiler sees when they read Mr. Tehan's face. I see a lot of anger and violence.
I am not convinced that the family had no clue that she left willingly. I just think they probably needed the police's help to find her.

I'm so glad to know she's alive. This is not a crime. She did not leave him alone, or in a dumpster,nor did she decide to take his life. At 31, a person is experienced enough to make the decision to have a child, and then understand if he or she is not capable of raising that child. I understand your passion to thwart the murder of a mother, but I hope that you will allow her the right to live her life without her child, if that is what she chooses to do. As a mother, I can not imagine making that decision, but bless her for taking that route rather than one that also takes the life of her child. People plead for mothers to choose adoption rather than abortion. This example is nothing less than that.

Charges for what? It's not a crime that this woman left her family or that she lied about going shopping. Men and women do this all the time all over the world. Why is this even a story, because she was a church goer? Come on now. People walk out on their families all the time, lie to do it, and the news doesn't report on it. I live in Xenia, Ohio. And I can tell you that there are many people upset over this. Our community pulled together to try and find her. Some even offering money for her safe return. And to find out she took off with another guy..... Yeah that's not sitting well with people. How could she just take off on her 1 yr. old baby girl?? She's not a child and knows right from wrong and she needs to be held accountable for what she did. I am a mom and I could NEVER take off on my babies!! NEVER!!! I don't know how she could do that!! Ok...When you read about the family who mysteriously vanished off to Mexico (allegedly), and the cops on that case are saying it isnt illegal for people to leave their life behind and not tell anyone and they wont face charges if found, they just wanna know where they are at. Then how come the same thing wont apply here? I mean dont get me wrong, this woman was selfish and had complete disregard for anyone else's feelings in the matter, but it shouldnt be a "criminal" matter.

Nancy I heard last night that you thought she made it look like an abduction because of the circumstances. Well, first of all her husband said that they were having trouble with that tire and it could go flat overnight...so scratch that off. Second, leaving the keys locked in the car was the smartest thing she could have done knowing her husband probably had another set to get in the vehicle and why would she need the keys. Or do you think maybe leaving the keys in the car unlocked would have made it look like it wasn't abduction. I have three kids and I love them with all of my heart. However, the fact of the matter is that she doesn't love hers. If she wants to leave, LET HER. Atleast she didn't hurt the baby, or worse. Her leaving is for the best if she doesn't love her family. She should not be charged with anything. It's too bad Misty C. didn't just leave.... Someday, someone else will love that baby, and her husband. Maybe that person will deserve them.

Nancy, I have a question about these two couples. Did they know each other? Since neither the husband of Tiffany nor the wife of Tre seem to be upset with their spouses, it leads me to believe there may be more to the story. Could there possibly have been some type of fraud that these two couples were trying to perpetrate? Perhaps they thought they would be paid large amounts of money for their stories if their spouses had disappeared under suspicious circumstances. Or, maybe they thought lots of money would come in to help with the search. It's my understanding the Tiffany's car was found abandoned with the keys in it. What do you make of it?

I called it!!!! I knew she ran away with that man because of how she was meeting him at the same place on several different occasions but no one in the family knew him...how could she abandon her baby though? That was the only thing that made me think that just maybe it was foul play. All other signs convinced me she was having an affair.
So what is it that they would charge her with? Is it illegal to leave your husband without telling him where you are going? When I left my ex, I didn't tell him where I was going out of fear for my life. It is a sad situation indeed, however I don't feel she should be charged with a crime just for leaving her husband.
I'm curious to see how this ends up being the fault of the husband or the new lover. We are Americans, and males are consistently easy to blame. Just watch any television commercial, and if anyone is portrayed as being stupid, slovenly, weak-willed, etc., it's a male. Why should this woman, or her lover be charged with anything. What crime did she commit. She left her husband, and left her child with him. She didn't ask for the police to search for her, what charges should she face....MEN do this all the time. How many men are charged for leaving their spouse, and abandoning their children? I don't think that she intended to make it appear that there was foul play, I think maybe she didn't want her husband to know where she was, perhaps he's abusive. No one knows what she faced at home everyday, and while I couldn't ever imagine leaving my children, she left hers with the child's father. I want to reiterate, I don't condone the fact that she left her child, But I'm screaming at the t.v..... Maybe her husband wanted a baby and she did not. She was in Florida with her lover, perhaps they were too busy to watch the news or even the Nancy Grace show...which I love and I'm watching now. Perhaps she didn't want her husband to track her down with knowledge of what she drove, same with the lover. Maybe they simply didn't want to be found. I just don't think that in itself is enough to charge her with any crime. It may be that this is her husband's way of controlling her, forcing her to come home. Nancy, I am just catching your show on the "missing mom" and I wanted to take just a moment to weigh in. Did the mother leave her baby in a dumpster and take off to start a new life? Did she bury it alive in a park somewhere? Maybe she waited a month to admit to her mother that her child was abducted by a child care provider, only to find the child dead in a wooded area near the family home? No? She simply selfishly ran away. Was it right? In our society, no. However, when babies are found dead the first thing everyone says is why didn't they just leave the child at a police station, hospital, or with a family member? Guess what, she did. Instead of judging her for being a bad mommy lets discuss the real issue which should be that she didn't bother to alert authorities of her whereabouts once she realized that they were looking for her. If it can be proven that she knew or even set it up to look as if she had been abducted she should be charged and fined the amount of man hours it has taken to find her.

I dont know why no one has checked to see if this woman is bipolar. It seems terribly clear that she is suffering from some sort of mental instability. I am bipolar and after I had one of my children I went through the very same thing. I thought I wanted a new life- luckilly I did not go to these extremes. It pains me to see the public crucification of this woman and many others on television when it is blatantly obvious that help is needed. Her recovery will be that much harder if she not only has to make amends to her husband and children but now to the world as well.

Give me a break. My husband walked out on me and our 5 month old son......I called the police, this happened in a major city...I was so fearful that he had been harmed. When he appeared, unharmed, four days later, no one cared that he, too, had wanted to "start a new life". No one cared about the baby that he walked away from. He, had taken no money out of our account, left the car, clothes, me and our son. I cannot convey the heartache and worry that he caused me and my family, as well as his.

wow i can hardly believe that a mom could leave her baby. I know that it happens all the time but i have a ten mo. Old baby girl and just the thought of leaving her makes me want to cry. First of all, I love your show and watch daily. Thank you for all that you do in the pursuit of justice. I have a question regarding the Susan Powell case. On the show it was said that police had to break into the home and a large wet spot with fans blowing on it was spotted. Is it known whether the spot was tested for any kind of biological of chemical evidence? Do you think a proper investigation was held in the home that would allow investigators to prove or disprove a murder at that location?

I have been following the Caylee Anthony case from the begining and am suprised that no one has connected the slang (street name) of Xanax. It is "Zanny". What a perfect way to describe your child sleeping from Xanax as "Zanny the Nanny". Did they ever do toxocology for Xanax? FYI-Xanax can be bought on the street, and is a widely prescribed drug. Perhaps to Casey, her family, or one of her friends!

To charge her only penalizes her husband who is trying to cope with his loss and raise a very young child. Her only assets are likely tied to his assets. Rather than charge her monetarily she should be put behind bars. Let her think about her actions. I hope the husband gets full custody of her child. A sad case. This case about Haleigh Cummings is so disturbing everytime I look at my 5 yr old grangdaughter I cant help thinking of what this poor little girl may have suffered.. I pray that all of the people involved in this case be punished at the highest level starting with Misty Crosslin who was left responsible for Haleigh.. what is our justice system coming to? When people think they can get away with abusing and killing children?

Regarding Tracy Tehan – - the run away mom & boyfriend are going to be appearing on a TV interview, together. I sure hope the program doesn't lend an approval to what those two did. It is horrible for anyone to vanish for days and deliberately avoiding being found. No one should be allowed to worry their families, leave a child, and cost more than one community thousands of dollars for search efforts, without paying a price. Imagine the anguish those families experienced and now the two who caused it all will be on TV to "tell their story".

The boyfriend as made a comment that he can not tell everything because he is trying to get a book deal out of it. and the lawyers told him that he has a contract. they are going to appear on Inside Eddition on thrusday night. if they make money off a book deal they should be made to pay back the city of Xenia. Let's speculate on how the police plan to charge the woman. She didn't stage an abduction or file a false report so what is the crime? Moral indiscretions are not punishable by law are they? NO! I am one of the unfortunate who was never able to have children and I love them dearly. Thankfully I have nieces and nephews ans they now have babies for me to love. Most people know how many children and women get abducted everyday in this country. It should have been her responsibility to let her fanmily know she was leaving to start a new life. He traded cars to keep from being found. They punctured the tire on her car to make it look like she "vanished". That was announced on Inside Edition. Someone should be charged. There are women who are abducted every day. Nancy reports these and investigates them. Many of the women are found dead. It is a very deceptive move to pull a stunt like this and "cause panic". The woman's pathetic reasoning for not divorcing is just that, pathetic. If she can commit adultery and abandon her child how much more immoral would it be to divorce?

It's too bad she didn't leave the right way if she wanted to go. All she had to do was let her family know, sign over custody and then go.
I raised four kids as a single mother and there were times when I felt I wanted to just throw in the towel , and walk away. Not tell anyone where I was going and just disapear. I didn't do it, I couldn't, I love my kids more than my life and that's the way it should be. My dad left my mother numerous time without saying a word. He was never punished for it. And he never had to pay for it.
Who knows if this husband is an abuser, maybe she left in fear for her life and he forgives her, smiling in public while waiting to get her alone. And even if that is not the case, she is entiltled to her own life the way she wants it. She is her own boss, she didn't harm her child or her husband, she just walked away. Like thousands of men do and never get punished.
Her husband is the one who called the police, made such a to do about it. He probably knew all along that she wasn't happy and that she left him. He probably knew about the affair too. If he was a woman, this would just be a typical event and nothing would be said or done!

I feel that the young man was married, had children , and a parent or more. yet you gave first billing to the parents and second billing to the wife and children. I have married children with wife and children and I personally feel althouth my sorrow could not compare to any one else, that of a wife and mother if equally deep and She, as the parent and her children deservde first billing. I thank your for thinking of us parents as the main branch of the tree, but truly they, our children have chosen someone to branch out with and these people, the wife and the children should be given first billing and we should be added at the end of the line. people are allowed to voluntarily disappear. she didn't fake an abduction. She should not be charged with any criminal act, thats for sure, let alone pay for the search. Morally she is warped but that doesn't equate criminal charges.
