On March 28th, 12 year old Kayleah Wilson told her mother she loved her and left the family home, headed for a friend’s birthday party just 8-10 blocks away. That was the last time anyone saw Kayleah. Her body was found last Wednesday in an irrigation ditch, about a mile from where she was last seen at a local mall, just blocks from the party.

The coroner’s office was able to identify the body through dental records, indicating the body was too badly decomposed for a visual identification. The irrigation ditch, which is about 6 feet deep and 6 feet wide and lined with concrete, was only a half a mile from Kayleah’s home. A ditch worker was checking the ditch because of recent heavy rains and found the body, reportedly partially submerged in about 3 feet of water. Investigators believe the heavy amount of water may have dislodged the body from its initial location…these ditches run underground throughout the city of Greeley, Colorado. While authorities say its unclear how long the body had been in that spot, they admit the area where Kayleah’s body was found had been searched at least twice before, with search dogs unable to pick up a scent. Sources told CNN affiliate KMGH that the ditch worker who found the body told law enforcement the body was naked, bloated, and white. Police firmly believe the body had been in the ditch for “some time”, but decline to elaborate further. Crime scene investigators gathered evidence along the irrigation ditch and is being processed for testing, but what was found with the body remains a mystery.

She wrote she was living in fear of her husband and had moved into her parents home with her two children, when one morning, she walked out to the end of her parents’ driveway in her pajamas and slippers to mail a letter and disappeared. Venus Stewart vanished on April 26, just a few weeks ago, without a trace. She had no cell phone, no wallet, as was dressed in her night clothes.

Police say there was a clear sign of struggle in the driveway and both her family and police believe she was kidnapped. She is the mother of 2 young girls aged 5 and 3. She’d been struggling with her marriage and finally called it quits a few months ago, when she left him, taking the girls with her from their home in Newport News, Virginia, relocating to Colon Township, Michigan.

On April 19, just one week before she vanished, she won the custody battle for the children. Her husband, Doug Stewart was granted only phone visitation rights. Venus Stewart alleged in court papers that her husband had molested one of their children – allegations the prosecutor’s office was unable to prove – but the family court awarded custody to Venus Stewart.

Haleigh: Babysitter Misty Croslin is still pointing fingers

The last person to see 6-year-old Haleigh Cummings alive is still pointing the finger from behind bars. In newly release jailhouse conversations with her family, Croslin says that she is “not the key” and that the cops need to “move on.”

And shockingly, she adds that the investigators need to take a closer look at Haleigh’s dad, Ronald Cummings.

Misty Croslin (speaking to her father): When I called him that night, how come he didn't answer the phone? I called and called and he didn't answer the phone. And then as soon as I open the door he's there. And he talks like, he says he was a drug dealer and all this stuff back in the day. He talks about all this sh*t. Then why did that black guy say that some people had her and he was going to go back and get her. But if he told, if Ronald told, then he would come to kill him. There's all this sh*t that they don't even look at. They just wanna look at me.

We continue to see inconsistencies in what Croslin has to say about that night. In recent weeks we learned that both Misty and her brother Tommy were implicating their cousin–Joe Overstreet –in Haleigh’s disappearance. But check out what she said to her dad:

You wanna like in my mind it's just like, you know, people keep saying this person, this person, so you know in your mind you're like well hey that's that person so you actually start to believe it, like the Joe thing. You just, I want to believe that because that's what I keep hearing and it just like makes like sense this is what happened you know, but I don't know for 100 percent that that was him. I don't know.

A Kentucky dad has been arrested for allegedly giving his 2-year-old stepdaughter a quantity of alcohol doctors say could have killed her. Police were called when the toddler was brought to the hospital unresponsive early Saturday after the child’s mother returned home from work and immediately knew something was wrong.

Testing revealed the child had a blood alcohol content of .25 percent! Police then spoke to the stepfather, 23-year-old Raymond Jackson, who allegedly admitted to encouraging the 2-year-old to drink a mixture of Gin and sweet iced tea. Jackson’s 6-month-old was also home at the time, but police say there’s no indication the baby was given any alcohol.

Jackson was arrested and is now charged with 1 count of criminal abuse in the first degree. If convicted as charged, he could face up to 10 years behind bars. Jackson remains at the Kenton County detention center on $10,000 bond, his next hearing is on June 1. While the current condition of the child has not been released, doctors told investigators that the child faces serious life threatening injuries and even death from consuming that much alcohol.

He falsely confessed to the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. Today John Mark Karr is being accused of cyber-stalking a 19-year-old woman he met a decade ago when he was a substitute teacher in San Francisco. The girl was just nine years old at the time.

Karr and Samantha Spiegel reportedly reconnected by video chat and e-mail. But when she tried to halt the communications in their tracks she claimed Karr threatened to kill her, according to KING 5 TV’s web site.

Karr rose to worldwide infamy and even ridicule in 2006 when he confessed to killing six-year-old beauty contest princess JonBenet Ramsey. But his self-sabotage effort was foiled by his own DNA, which revealed he was lying about committing the crime, which remains unsolved.

Now Karr also reportedly may have changed his look to appear like a woman, allegedly so he can get closer to young women and girls. And Karr even spent time at a shelter for battered women, KING 5 says. Police are looking for Karr to question him but with his appearance possibly changed, he may be harder to find than ever.
