After 5 long years, Joran Van der Sloot finally faces murder charges, but not in the Natalee Holloway case. It took another girl’s death before authorities could arrest Van der Sloot and finally bring charges against him. Van der Sloot has finally been charged today with murdering 21 year old Stephany Flores, who was found dead in a hotel room registered to Van der Sloot’s name, in Lima, Peru. After holding a press conference late last night, we learned about some of the evidence police have against the Dutchman who was the prime suspect in the disappearance of American high-school student Natalee Holloway when she vanished in Aruba on a school trip, after last being seen with Van der Sloot and his buddies May 30, 2005.
Police say Van der Sloot is the only person to have been seen entering and leaving the hotel room where Flores’ body was found. Authorities say the victim’s blood was found on Van der Sloot’s clothing. Police have also given more details about the possible murder weapon. The tennis racket found in the hotel room was not did not appear to have any blood on it, but will be forensically tested to see if it was used in the murder. Reports suggest Van der Sloot simply smashed the victim’s face/nose with his elbow and then grabbed her around her neck, beating her and while she kicked and struggled and broke her neck, instantly killing her. This coupled with his alleged confession to police after sources say a 7 hour long interrogation, leaves no room for doubt. The motive is still unclear, but police say Van der Sloot explains that he killed the girl in a rage, after discovering that she had seen records on his personal laptop pertaining to Natalee Holloway.
Van der Sloot has told many conflicting stories about what happened the night Holloway went missing in Aruba, toying with police, the media and Aruban prosecutors for years. When he was released after the Aruban investigation, for insufficient evidence against him in the case, he went on to various nefarious activities, including allegedly trying to create a prostitution ring in Thailand, caught on under-cover surveillance tape. He also went on to make alleged confessions, unwittingly being taped by undercover Dutch journalists. In one Holloway “confession,” he tells the tale of he and Holloway on the beach in Aruba, where he claims Holloway suddenly goes into a convulsive fit and dies. Van der Sloot told his so-called friend, who was working with a journalist in the hidden camera taping, he then dumped Holloway’s body in the ocean.
Next there is his voluntary video-taped “confession” with a lie-detector test. Van der Sloot explaining how Holloway fell from a balcony and died and again he admits that he and accomplice hid her body, but this time in a swamp. Last week we learned he told a witness working with the FBI in early May that he pushed Holloway, who hit her head on a rock and died and he then buried her body on a construction site in Aruba. Not only that, but this recent confession contained a new alleged accomplice: Van der Sloot’s deceased father, Judge Paulus Van der Sloot. Later van der Sloot admitted he lied to witness, the attorney for Natalee’s mother, about this confession. Every story Van der Sloot has told about what really happened to Natalee Holloway has lead authorities nowhere, with no corroborating evidence and no body.
But today Peruvian police say Van der Sloot has not only confessed to killing young Flores, but also admits during questioning that he does know where Holloway’s body is and will tell the Aruban authorities.

Father's Day is a very exciting day for all males who are fathers. At least this is a day when it is important for men who are fathers to spend quality time with their children. In some cases, it will be okay for any man who is not a father to spend time with his own family. At least spending time with your own parents is very important. Men can even spend time with their niece and nephews or spend time with children inside of the neighborhood. This is very important because we have to keep our children from engaging in reckless behaviors. This will instill social and moral values in our children. At least it would let them know that they are appreciated by someone outside of their own families. This in itself is very important. Therefore, validation is important!!

Conflicts of Interest happen on a daily basis. This happens when there are other agencies as well as others who are employed tend to interfere in the affairs of others. This also happens if there are disagreements between companies and the government itself. People have a tendency to always try to make their points known when they do not really understand the interest as well as the policies themselves. This is also a political term as well as one that refers to interest that pertains to human basis needs. Why is the media ignoring the Kalpoe brothers? They were suspects in the Hollow disappearance, not just van der Sloot. 5 years ago van der Sloot proclaimed "I would never murder a woman" well he has now changed his tune. With this new development perhaps the Kalpoe brothers are no longer as loyal to van der Sloot as the once were. CNN why are you not tracking down the Kalpoe brothers?
We don't need to have death penalty in Peru, a long prison time there will be excellent for him. Boy!, they will enjoy having Joran with them. For justice purposes, it's much better than being caught in Aruba, or many other countries. He will probably beg someone kill him.

This monster should be watched 24 hours a day until Arubian officials are given the true details of Natalee Holloway's whereabouts and what happened the evening she disappeared from Van Der Sloot. If he was to commit suicide or to be killed in a Peru prison before that is to happen, he would be deemed lucky. This is an unbelievable story of a sociopath and I still will never understand how Van Der Sloot was allowed to leave Aruba after all of his video tapped and recorded "confessions."
I have been following this case since the day Natalee was reporteed missing all over the National media and I will continue to do so until these women and their families are at peace and the truth is finally revealed.

Joran VanDerSloot says he knows where Natalie Hollaway is burried, and that he will only tell the police in Aruba... whats up here??? what's his angle?? does his pea brain think that they will extradite him to Aruba before his trial ... so that he can again (lie about where Natalie's body is) this is just a scheme on his part because he knows that if he is extradited to Aruba... Peru will never see him again?? and that this Physopath will get away with yet another murder... Wow. I think it's clear now that whatever happened to poor Natalee wasn't an accident that Joran tried to cover up as some of us had always assumed or hoped. I think he intentionally killed and "snapped" on Natalee for whatever reasons, just as he did with Stephany. Sadly, though he's toyed with the Holloway family's emotions for years by telling so many different accounts of what 'happened to Natalee' and then claiming to make them up, that I doubt he will ever really come clean about what happened to her. May the souls of Stephany and Natalee rest in peace. Two beautiful young women take from life too soon at the hands of a monster.
It's all lies from joran. I know a similar case, except the guy got interrupted by a boyfriend before he did serious damage. Know what that guy did?
- He pretended to be seriously injured so they took him to a hospital.
- He claimed to be on drugs. But his tox screen came back negative.
- He said that she had done him wrong and just like Joran, said something close to, "She had no right!"
It went on from there. Everything that came out of his mouth was a lie. He enjoyed it. He liked hurting pretty girls and making them scream. He liked watching the impotence of the victim even after he was caught. He liked the challenge of getting away with it.

I had a feeling Van Der Sloot would confess to the Natalie Holloway murder and where her body is, so he could bargain for either a long Aruban or US prison stay instead of the hell pit prison in Peru. Another thing I always thought, is that his Father helped him hide the body. What a family! Also, I don't think they should bargain with him until he passes a lie detector test since he's given so many versions of the murder. I love your show Nancy Grace!
Ver der Sloot is a scumbag and must never reach the outside world again. He may well have disposed of Natalee H or did he go in a rage with her too. Why has not been put away? Is Van der Sloot saying he will tell authorties were Natalie Holloway is hoping Aruba will want first 'dibs' so he will not have to go to a Peruvian jail? Could Aruba say he killed first on their Island so we need to prosecute first? I want him to do his time in Peru.

Something has puzzled me all these years regarding the Holloway case. Why was there not a room check done on these kids by the chaperones. Action could have been taken sooner than the morning when Natalee did not show up for her flight! What were the chaperones doing and where were they? I am a Christian woman who followed the whole Natalie Holloway
story, and prayed for her family during that whole time and even
as of recently before this broke in the news again. Anyone that
murders and thinks they can get away with it are only fooling
themselves. While it may appear they are getting away with it
here on earth, they're in for a big surprise later. (sorry if that sounds
'preachy', but I am a person who became a Christian because of
several spiritual experiences)
It's too bad that Aruba didn't do their job, because Stephanie Flores
would still be alive had they done the right thing. We are told not to
judge others for their sins, but I've honestly got to say that I am
ecstatic that this evil man got caught. I do believe the Lord had
a hand in the families of those murdered seeing some kind of
justice while here on earth...mainly because it doesn't make sense
that he would commit this murder in Peru, when there are security
cameras everywhere, unless of course, he wanted to get caught,

I was going to write a comment but it seems that everything that I wanted to say is covered. It is just so sad that another girl had to die to get justice for Natalee. Don't worry about him not getting life. The only way he will leave that jail is in a pine box. I would hate saying this about another human being but he is clearly not human.

Finally! It broke my heart to see Natalee Hollaway's mother pleed with Aruba's authorities to help her find her daughter and they brushed her off like she was nothing. I have 4 daughters one who graduated the same year as Natalee and I sent her to the Bahamas...all I could do is cry for Natalee and her family and realize they would have treated anyone of us the same way. As a result I will never visit Aruba. I think they owe Natalee's family more than they could ever pay her and now they owe Stephany Flore's family as well for letting this murderer go free because of his families political status. One question...how many more girls lives has been taken because of their reluctance for justice?

If so, I'd say that it wasn't the invasion into his private life that bothered him so much, but the fact that he wasn't in control of what information she had about him.
If he broke down before confessing, it probably wasn't out of remorse but because he realized for the first time that he couldn't evade the concequences for his actions.
I'm glad he's willing to tell Aruban authorities where Natalie's body is. Let the authorities go to Peru and he can show them where she is buried using Google Earth. Don't let him use her as a get-out-of-jail-Free! card.

I have thought this for sometime since Natalie's disapperance, that it would take Joran's father not being in the picture for him to be uncovered. In the past numerous excuses were made and mistakes were covered up. It is unfortunate that his father has died, but 2 young girls lost their life at his hands and their families deserve answers.

Isn't there a law in Aruba that states if a person ends up missing after getting drunk, whoever they were with last is held responsible and goes to prison?? I remember hearing that from CNN & HLN 5 years ago. Joran should have been in prison as well as the Calpo brothers! And Miss Flores would still be alive. I live here in Peru and I am sure that Joran will not leave the Peruvian jail alive. Her father has money and he will make sure that he either dies or wish that he was dead from what they are going to do to him in jail. Foreigners in Peruvian jails, especially murderers are not very popular among the Peruvian general population and they will make him pay for his horrible crimes.
I recall seeing a diagram showing the injuries and estate in which Stephany's body was found and apparently she was using a sanitary pad.
My question is, is it possible that he attempted sexual intercourse and because she had her period, this ouraged him? I find very odd that given his personality there isn't evidence of attempt of rape or any signs of sexual intercourse.
As Bonnie, I believe that all the things I wanted to say are pretty much covered... I just would like to add that is good that Peru does not have dealth penalty, as killers as Joran are begging to be killed! The best that could happen is that he gets convicted, spends a lot of time in a Peruvian jail, then gets and extradition and spends many years more in Aruba or the US in jail... Until old and rotten.

I was just watching Jane Valaz-Mitchell and they said that he not only stole her money from her wallet but her Credit cards too. Why are they not looking into the fact that Paulus Van der Sloot had the concrete on his back patio re-poured during the time of Natalee's death. Why aren't they digging that up?
I was wondering, concerning the 4 different confessions that Joran Van Der Sloot has offered, could it possibly be repeating the different ways he may have disposed of the bodies of former victims? And, since one of the confessions was concerning Halloway, that she was encased in a cement foundation, did Aruba authorites search the patio that Van Der Sloots own family was constructing after she turned up missing?

I think the only reason Joran is saying that he knows where Natalee's body is that he may think they will send him back to Aruba, since that crime happened first.

It was my understanding, while authorities were looking for Van der Sloot, that the young Peruvian woman had won $5,000 in the casino the night of the murder. Today I learned Joran was accused of taking, among other things, 300 Peruvian dollars from her. Why the discrepency... which amount is correct? Did he spend the entire amount ($25K) he received from Ms. Holloway?
Van der Sloot stole her lottery winnings after he murdered her. So, although he can't face life in prison for murder, he can for aggravated robbery per the law in Peru. And those guys think the US culture is materialistic! Sheesh! At least he'll get life.
I think U.S. jail is good for JOran as is the death penalty. He needs to live in general population in a Peru jail and suffer for his crimes. Our jails will only protect him when he needs to PAY for for what his done. His life of privilege needs to end and what better way then there hell-hole of a prison. You need to interview him i n a few years and see if he begs for the death penalty to get out of there. His poor victims probably begged for him to stop hurting them. He didn't stop now he needs to feel what it is like not to be in contol.
Many of us are interested in what Joran's Mom is doing or saying. Is she still alive? Has she visited him in prison? Has she made any public comments on his actions?
When van der Sloot went out for coffee, the young lady was probably already dead, as he would not have left her there alone, for fear that she might leave.
And The Holloway girl could possibly be buried in Joran's back yard in Aruba, especially if his father was in on the cover-up.

'Anthony Hopkins' has probably missed the fact that Van der Sloot has been arrested many times for the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, but that the authorities found insufficient evidence for putting him on trial. It is obvious that many, many people, including the FBI, have been searching for evidence of Van der Sloot's guilt, but all have failed to find it.
It would be wonderful if Van der Sloot's present arrest and indictment would lead to solving the Holloway case.
On the other hand, we would not want the Peruvian legal system and Peruvian methods of 'interrogation' in our own country. So let's be consequent and not praise the Peruvian authorities for (probably) using methods we despise. The way in which Van der Sloot is being exposed to the media and to the people would be unacceptable in our own country. Neither is the 'leaking' of video's of him being held, interrogated, transported, or of video's that will play a role in the trial.. So why would we find it acceptable in another country?

It appears Jordan is not in his arrogante in charge self, they do not commmunicate in anyway, very very unusual. I see Stephany as the one on a mission and in charge, and in pursute of him for something she is a smart woman with experince and a gamer, playing for big money.. he may have tried to make a financial proposal, maybe he wanted her to float him a loan and he assured her that he had the funds in his room or on a wire transfer that would convience her to trust him.. seems he was feeling confident in conning people out of money at this time.. and did plan to rob & kill her. I think you do Van der Sloot's mother, and indeed the mothers of many criminals, a grave injustice by making them responsible for the deeds of their children.
Your premiss is that all mothers are to blame for the criminal behavior of their children. And that all criminal behavior can be prevented by mothers raising their children in some way or another.
There is no proof whatsoever for these premisses. Many mothers (and fathers) are going through hell in dealing with their gradually criminalizing (adolescent) children. That happens in the best and worst of families, and every familiy in between. There is no simple predictor for criminal behavior, nor a few simple buttons that every mother has to push to prevent her child from developing criminal behavior. If there were, I am sure that all mothers would want to push them.
It is bad enough that so many mothers with criminal children feel a lifelong guilt. No need for you to stir up the fire under their, for the greater part undeserved, guilt complex.
It is shocking to think that Beth Holloway sent him one cent knowing what a liar he was, especially since there was no plan to immediately arrest him. What was she thinking? And since she's not an expert, just how could the FBI trust Joran?

Re. the reports of two girls missing from Columbia, I'd ask him about them in a lie detector. The reporters say he was only there to change planes and a short time and I'm not clear if he went to a casino there due to conflict in the news reports.
In view of his connections with this man who sent him money and possible drug dealers, he could have pre-arranged to deliver one or two girls to an accomplice at the casino once he got there, if able. That seems to be his m.o. and he seems to be an expert!
In the clip being shown of Joran and Stephanie in the casino where she joins him at the table, it appears she hands him something before she sits down. Could it have been money? Maybe she went to cash in chips or get change or whatever they do? Actually, my first impression was she may have been returning from a trip to the ladies room. I think there are a couple of clips, adding to viewer confusion. In one, she shakes his hand as she joins the table. It is said they'd played together for a couple of days so in that it looks like she's just meeting up with him that day/night.
I wish the news would get all the clips and play them in sequence rather than showing bits and pieces and especially as more video becomes available.

I don't know if they search the back yard or not but until they find her body I am say she is closer than you think. they always say keep your friends close but your enemies closer. OK... Here's the deal.. its well documented that they use forms of torture in Peru to interrogate prisoners there, so I say have them interrogate Joran to extract info on Natalie's whereabouts. If that doesn't work.. then wait until he is convicted and enters prison population.... offer a reward to anyone who can convince him to give up that information. I'm sure they could get him to talk. i wonder too why the Kaploe brothers haven't been talked about since the crime. I don't think they had anything to do with her murder BUT they know more than they shared with authorities. If they were part of the actual murder, Joran would have definitely blamed it on them but he can't because they weren't there when she died. I just hope to goodness they find her body so that her family can have closure and give her a proper burial. I think he was able to lure her into his room by saying he would pay her back the money she gave him in chips. Meanwhile in his sick mind, he got her in the room and robbed her winnings and murdered her because of a confrontation. I think alot of this had to do with his addiction to gambling and the fact that he needed money. Obviously the extortion case confirms that. Him saying she went on his computer I think is a bunch of crap because if that were the case she would have been found fully clothed. I believe that Joran is a predator. He goes to Casinos to meet a young woman. Drugs them and takes them to a location to have sex with them. Maybe the alcohol and drugs he gives them causes them to seize or drop their blood pressure. Wasn't there drinks he had in the room... sodas... did they test for drugs... I think he drugged her to have sex with her and she fought with him... I think she was drugged when they entered the hotel room... she doesn't look as lively as in the casino... she refused to have sex with him and he killed her... no computer... no connection that enraged him... Think about it ... he doesn't have relationships with women for more than a night...since they die, or if not they don't remember what happened.

Once the sentencing is done for the brutal death of Stephany, I hope the US authorities would charge him, the Kalpoe brothers and Mrs, Van der Sloot for the roles they played in letting this monster go free after Natalee's murder in Aruba. it is too bad his father the judge, Paul van der Sloot is not alive to go through torment now, seeing this monster that he fathered go through Hell in a Peruvian prison. Two thoughts: One, is it possible someone in Aruba tipped Joran off the FBI was involved in his extortion attempt? I've heard under international law that Aruba had to be informed of the FBI's activity in the country. Can Joran prove he planned to leave after getting the money or was it more like grabbing his stuff and running? Second, I find it awfully suspicious that he knew the top items to lessen his sentence if caught in Peru: Confession, drug use and now, coercion. For a non premeditated situation, I find it questionable he has by chance used these three items.
I doubt seriously he'll talk about Holloway - that card is too played and he gains nothing by revealing the true and he's too far gone to develop a conscience now.

I have to say that I was appalled to hear that Joran would most likely only serve 7 to 10 years in prison for his crime (if found guilty). I had heard that the prisons there are rougher places to survive than in the US, but according to the Associated Press today, Joran is (yet again) being given preferential treatment. The AP reports that Joran is being kept in a private cell at Castro Castro next to the Directors Office. There are only two other inmates on his cell block, a former Mayor and a drug cartel assasin. When will this guy be treated like the he treats others?

They keep reporting that Joran van der Sloot left the hotel room to get coffee then returned. Wouldn't that have been caught on the same surveilance camera that got the footage of him and Stephani going into the room, then him finally leaving alone. How come his "coffee run" footage has not been released? Maybe that never happened either! Please ask Nancy Grace to address this issue as well.

Nancy, I have been a marijuana smoker for fifty-eight years, and am well read on the subject. Marijuana is not responsible for any of Van Sloot's action. That is just a "cop out" and an effort to blame the weed for his bad behavior. Do the test on his hair and I'll bet you won't find any signs of marijuana. Violence is not part of the expereience.

I've been hearing about Van der Sloot saying that he will tell Aruda Officials that he will tell them the location of Hollaway's body for a week or more. Why haven't these Officials made their way to Peru to question this guy? The discovering of the body will be front page coverage all over the world. Someone on your show said that Joran went to get coffee wearing the same shirt he was wearing at the canso,this is not true. Also, when he went to get coffee he locked himself out of his hotel room........why did he have to go get an employee to let him in? Why not just knock on the door, or even call the room from the desk? You know why, she was all ready gone.
I believe Peru gets him first because they were the first to "charge" him. If Natalee is found he will then be 'charged' with her murder. Then last the US can charge him for the extortion chages. I was thinking.....if Joran was locked out of his room when he came back from the store with coffee (as the video shows), why did he have to have an attendant let him back in the room? I agree with an earlier comment. It doesn't matter how long they sentence him to jail seven years or seventy years. He is a spoiled brat, and won't make it on the inside of a prison in Peru. Keep him isolated and under suicide watch 24 hours a day until he discloses the location of Natalee's body -if it can be found and verified. After that, throw him into the general prison population of Peru. If he doesn't take his own life, I am sure someone in they system in Peru will do it for him.

What incentive does Vandersloot have to finally tell us where Natalie is? He cant use the information to negotiate a better deal with Peru because they have enough to charge him and why would Peru give him a break for something the Aruban Police & Government failed to do? i was looking at photos on flikr and found more than one hundred posted by a joran van der sloot. could it be the same person? some of them were quite sad/sick. girls w/ black eyes, cats being held up by the scruff of their necks and clearly crying, a picture of bones, girls posing with their face obscurred by their hair, alot of girls photographed in clouds of smoke? (symbolic?)

Extradition to Aruba is out of te question because there is no extraditon agreement between Aruba (as part of de Netherlands Kingdom) and Peru. It is possible that the Aruban justice authorities go to Peru and question him. But my opinion is that when the Peruvian authorities put a little more pressure on him (for example a considerable time in de Castro Castro-prison), he ultimately will break down and confess all the crimes he is accused of. 99.9% of the Dutch people will see him rot in a Peruvian prison.
It will not matter how many years he gets for this crime. There is no way he will survive a Peruvian Prision. They will kill him unless he is put into solitary confinment.

You are all very sick people. It is a tragedy that Joran became a monster. It is a tragedy that two young women had to die violently. It is also a tragedy that you think justice will somehow be served by Joran suffering in a Peruvian prison. Justice is an illusion. Like pandora's box the horrible outcomes cannot be undone. I wish Joran no malice. He does infact deserve to go to jail and face consequences, but only because it is society's way of honoring the victims and sending the message that such crimes are not tolerated. With that said no suffering that Joran endures will ever bring back those girls. They are gone and Joran is left. Hi Nancy, this is my theory, If you remember back in the beginning of the Natalee case about three weeks after she was missing the VanderSloots had some sort of cement foundation or patio put in their back yard, there is some truth to the story he gave the Holloways about Natalee being in cement but he can not tell that it is in his parents house because it will implicate his mother . Can someone find out about the work that was done on the VanderSloot property.

Out of curiosity, has anyone stopped to wonder why they were going to a hotel room together in the first place? I thought I read that Stephany was known to be lesbian, so what was the motive in going to a hotel with a man at that hour? Why would she go there with him? And had they met online somehow, and arranged to meet in person that night? Also, it just seems like he was hoping for them to find her (only after he had enough time to look like he was trying to get away). Obviously he found a way to hide the body of Natalie Holloway well enough for her to not be found still to this day, so what made him not hide this one? Did he want to get caught? Was he tired of running from all the hatred toward him because he knew it was well-deserved? Just observations...
Nancy, I am trying to figure out why did this young lady go back to his Hotel room. I think he did planed to murder a young lady on the anniversary date. I believe that he told her he was famous and when she said she never hard of him. He probably said something like you should Google me, that seems to be the new thing with young people that you can Google their name and see what you find. So I believe he told her she could use his computer to look him up, and then when she did, Because he knew that it would scare her(and I am sure he got off on it) Then he murdered her and I am sure a lot in the same way he murdered Natalee Halloway.

I wish that Beth, Dave, and Jug could go down to Peru and take turns slapping Joran's face in a room without video cameras. It would be his word against theirs if he complained about it. The only drawback is that they would probably end up going further and kill him, and we don't want them in prison; maybe it would be looked at as justifiable homocide, and no jury would ever convict them.
I have not heard any one ask this question before. They have video of Van der Sloot entering room with 2 coffee but if there is no video of him going to a store to by hair color then that means he had previously planned for something like this to happen at some point. As his hair had changed color to him leaving the room.

What I don't understand is his part of how the events took place. In the surveillance camera, it only shows him going into the hotel room with the victim and then hours later he leaves by himself.
When did he leave to get two coffees at the gas station next door and come back to the hotel room? According to his story, when he came back is when he caught her looking at his e-mails. No one has questioned this?

I agree with everything everyone has said about Joran in these comments. I have followed the storiesabout this sociopath since the disappearance of Natalee and always felt most disturbed that this snake managed to slip through the fingers of the justice system in Aruba because of his father's influence there. Joran even said in one of his many interview "confessionals" that his father had paid off 2 or 3 investigators in the case to withhold evidence & keep prosecutor's from getting enough to prosecute. This was the confession where he claimed he sold Natalee as a sex slave then recanted the entire interview afterward.
In his undercover surveillance video where he claimed Natalee had a seizure & his friend dumped her body in the ocean, Joran smiles when the undercover "friend" taping Joran comments about the media hype being unfortunate for Joran, & Joran brags about exploiting the media. What a low-life! He gets collects a fat check every time he time he sits before a camera and tells reporters a different lie about Natalee. Then once he has burned all his bridges and the media won't play his game anymore, this sicko decides that he wants to enter a poker tournament so he decides that he will injure the Holloway family further by feeding them some BS in order to collect REWARD $ that was raised lay Natalee to rest and bring JORAN VAN DER SLOOT to justice. Ironic, isn't it? So he uses Natalee's Mom's reward to finance his trip to Peru where he wines, dines, robs and murders another young woman.Talk about adding insult to injury?! Mr. van der Sloot must be living in dreamland if he assumes that the Peruvian authorities will grant him an international prison transfer for the surrender of information having nothing to do with the death of one of their own. It seems insensible to me that Mr. van der Sloot can prioritize one of his alleged murders over another and feel that Peru won't mind if he chooses where he wants to be imprisoned. Though Mr. van der Sloot has made a confession to the Peruvian police, it seems to me he does not want to be responsible for his actions. Nancy's blogs have shown that this man has a history of playing with the police as if there was no such thing as truth in life.The death of Ms. Holloway is a frightening and unfortunate event but Mr. van der Sloot should not be allowed to play any more games with the police and the families of his two victims. Considering the profile of this psychopath, I wouldn't be surprised if other young women fell victim to his arrogance.

Whatever they do – the Peruvian police should NOT make any 'deals' with this man to ease his prison term – even if it means getting info on Natalie Holloway's case. Let him rot for a few years in jail to soften him up! He probably will try to make a deal that involves authorities flying him back to Aruba to show them where Natalie's remains are - which will only be a gross lie - he probably cannot recognize truth if it hit HIM in the face! Did you know that the prison in Aruba has a beautiful ocean view? AND it contains mostly tourist criminals convicted on drug courier charges? No – we dont want Joran enjoying that! Am I the only person who cannot believe that Joran will get more time in jail on an extortion charge vs a murder charge? Does this seem right? The max he will serve in Peru would be 17 1/2 years IF he has good behavior and is sentenced the max of 35 years. I have a personal connection to those who were with Natalee in Aruba and have had a strong passion for this case. It makes me sick that he has struck again. He should have been locked up so long ago, but instead another is dead. Stephany should be alive. If he had been locked away from the Natalee case, Stephany would have never had the opportunity to get her hands on his computer and find out of his involvement in the Natalee case. This is all just sick. At least this time his father is not around in his defense. He will get what he deserves. I hope the Flores and Holloway families can all find peace in this terrible happening.

IF there is anyone that believes his current confession it is pathetic. He gave 3 different versions of what happened to Natalie in 2008 alone. His statements of why he killed Stephany are just as obsurd and that is clear. In his hotel room was found tide flow charts for surrounding areas. He never left the room during the 3-4 hours that he killed Stephany Flores except to attempt put in place an extremely bad alibi with the two coffee cups. He did not have a printer in his room. Obviously the charts were there before Stephanie died. This was not accident and Peru is not going to let him go or give him a lighter sentence. I saw new video last night that shows Joran actually trying to stage his alibi by coming out of his hotel room in the red shirt with two cups already in his hands along with something else that could be the "bread" or pastry he referenced, going off camera for a few seconds, then returning to the door of his hotel room and knocking, like he innocently expected Stephany to answer the door. Then, though the video to support this was not shown, supposedly, when Stephany did not come to open the door, he went to get a hotel employee to let him in, hoping that person would see the body and Joran could claim his surprise and shock that someone else killed her. I don't understand!!! Can he not see the surveillance camera that is recording his actions??? Or could he just be hoping that it is only for appearance to discourage crime but not actually a working video camera?? That is the only explanation I can come up with for his actions. Otherwise, he is truly a stupid idiot in addition to being a murderer.
I have a hard time believing his "confession" is an honestly obtained confession. I believe the confession should be thrown out because he did not have representation present at the time.
Remember the girl is the daughter of a racing hero – the police are going to make sure they can have someone to point to and punish. I have to believe the confession was more than likely beat out of him.
And if he did kill the girl – I can understand temporary insanity – image living 5 years with not being able to have friends – or date someone – because of this suspicion hanging over you – I imagine he liked this girl and when she found out about the connection to Holloway – she panicked and wanted away – he snapped.

in looking at the new video of Van der Sloot where is knocking on the door of his room, it looks like he first opened the door, looked at the camera in the hall, then eased the door shut before starting to knock on the door. I think he realized there was a camera, and was trying to set up an alibi that he had 2 coffees to prove she was alive and bringing her breakfast. he really didn't seem to knock very hard and kept turning to make sure the camera got a good view of the 2 cups. this guy thinks he is so smart but he's just evil!!!!
Do you have the audio to the video of Joran knocking on the door? Look very closely. It appears he never touched the door. It appears he knows the camera is there, it doesn't have sound, but he didn't want to alert the staff of his "inconvenience". I suspect this was to confuse the timeline.

Does anyone know if the Van der Sloot's home in Aruba has been searched, if I'm recalling correctly it was ten days or so before the police were allowed on the property. The home should be searched by the police Now. The young woman in Peru, may have gone to the hotel, for the promise of loan monies she gave to Joran while gambling. It has been stated he did not win that night, so she may have loan him money, and tricked her into giving him money saying he had it at his hotel. He had intentions of perhaps settling that loan with romantic encounter. When she refused because of her sexual preferance, demanded her money and maybe struck him because he didn't it and resisted his advance he snap...I think his father was more involved than just helping to get rid of Natlie's body. The mom was out of town the week-end of Natlie disapperance. Search the Van der Sloot home with a fine tooth comb...There will be answers!

Watching Nancy and listening to John Ludwig (Jorans friend) speak. This guy is as scary as Joran. He keeps smirking when Natalie or Stephany are brought up. Women watching this progam need to take a good look at this guys face and stay far away from him. Men in our society are not protecting us so we must be pro-active when it comes to our safety He knows something about Natalies death. John obviously has no concern for women. I wouldn't be surprised if they slipped date rape drugs in womens drinks together!
Has anybody else noticed, I don't believe they were headed back to the hotel for a night of fun and games. From what I've seen of the video tapes when she approached him, it seems more like a business deal – drugs? There was no touching, no sweetness. She was walking behind him and he didn't even hold the door open for her. Also as a woman, most of us don't want to have a night of fun with a stranger when we are on our period. I think he killed her as soon as the door closed.

About Joran van der Sloot's friend- all I can say is "birds of a feather"! When Nancy asked him about whether he was concerned about hanging around with someone who was probably involved in a murder, he said he didn't fear for his safety. It never crossed his mind that it should be bothering him to hang out with a murderer. He is completely lacking in empathy, a quality he shares with his sociopath buddy, Joran. It scares me that there's more than one of them on the loose.

the best way for peru to handle Joran is with 2 options. 1) peru can prosecute him to the fullest, if he is convicted he gets 35 years max and sent to the general population.or 2) peru offers him 20 years in exchange for the location of natalee's remains , that must be found and positively ID'd. he serves his time in peru outside the general population. Peru which is a poor country does not have a long drawn out and expensive trial,.Joran serves his time and at when it's time for release they turn him mover to aruba for natalee's murder. If aruba doesn't prosecute him, the U S gets him for extortion and wire fraud about a 20 year sentence, In peru, they get 2 days good time for each day served. 35 years=112 yrs 9months of which he won't survive the general population. 20 years=6 years 9 months of which he probably will survive and aruba or the U S gets him and is the only hope of ever finding natalee's remains. I believe they said at the time of Natalee's murder that Joran's father would not let them search their home. I wonder if they still own it. My theory from the beginning is Joran's dad helped him bury Natalee's body on their own property and they certainly had plenty of time to cover their tracks including cleaning the car as it was some time before he was ever questioned the first time.
I will never forget the video of where his dad was nervously trying to unlock his car after being questioned. I never saw anyone look more guilty. It's to bad he didn't live to realize his son isn't going to always get away with murder. If I were the authorities I would check the date of other young women who have been missing from casinoes in many countries since he seems to be such a world traveler. I would especially do a follow up on any disapperarnces in the last five years on the date in May of which he murdered the other two young women.

And, I am sickened by the the circumstances surrounding Stephany Flores' death. My heart goes out to the families of Natalee and Stephany. May God be with them.
Regarding the murder of Stephany Flores... I understand that Joran says he strangled/suffocated her "for, like, a minute". Isn't that more BS? I know from watching other criminal forensic shows that strangling/smothering a human being takes tremendous strength, and it doesn't happen quickly, and an autopsy would relieve evidence. Do you know if the autopsy reveals this?
And, I've seen some news that Joran comes across as "not having his full faculties" about him. Do you know if he will be required to undergo some kind of psychological testing? All of his lying (that is lying, not keeping his stories consistent, and telling more lies to cover up the bad lies, etc.) is just odd, from both common sense and a psychological standpoint. Even a guilty but sane person knows to keep their stories straight! It would be interesting to know if Joran is afflicted with some kind of personality disorder, and to know specifically what it is. Does he meet the DSM-IV definition for having antisocial/dissocial personality disorder?

I was thinking about the reason Stephany went back to Joran's room and it occurred to me that my sister and brother-in-law do the same thing at the local casino. When it's very early in the morning, and they are winning, one will go take a nap in the car (alternating etc.) and continue playing a couple hours later. I think Stephany was tired, not feeling well, and didn't want to return home since she was winning. Joran offered her a place to crash for a couple hours. Just like at our house - with unexpected guests - we will split the bed. We will give the mattress on the floor to the guest and sleep on the box springs covering both with sheets. This may be why Stephany was in her underwear. I think she rebuffed his advances - leading to the rage. As Joran is very savvy, he probably knows there are larger criminal penalties when murder is committed during the course of a rape - and thus invented the "laptop ruse".
VAN DER SLEUTH......I hope they keep you in Peru so you get what you deserve. Aruba will never make you pay for what you did. And you will never reveal the TRUTH about Natalee. The truth and you are strangers.

They have video of van der Sloot entering the room with 2 cups of coffee, but I haven't viewed a video about van der Sloot going to a store to buy hair dye. If you notice in the video where Van der sloot was leaving the room with 2 coffee cup in his hands, his back toward the camera. Notice his hand he pulls the door closed but not all the way. He pretends to knock, notice the top of the door he then closes it completely and pretends to knock on the door again. He then turns toward the camera and acts again like he is knocking prior to going to get the maid to unlock the door. So, my question: It appears that he never really left to get coffee especially since he comes out of the room with them in his hands, Do you too see it that way?

as watching the hotel video footage of joran van der sloot, I notice as he walks out the door with the coffee in hand, it appears as if he is locking the door with a set of keys and after the door is locked he place keys in his pocket while his back is turn to the camera. Could it be possible that he druged the young lady? As watching the hotel video of the two of them passing the front desk, it appears as if she was walking a little sluggish. Could he have giving her the date rape drug as well? That would explain her leaving the casino with van der sloot. Maybe the drug played a role in her making the choice to leave with him. Also the guy that acknowledge himself as van der sloot friend, could it be possible that joran, paid him to speak in his deffense. Or there any missing person cases in Thailand? Since joran, had a coffee shop there. I think he should not be allowed to return to Aruba....... My heart goes out to the family of the victims... May God bless..

It is a shame that another child had to die in order for this monstrous fiend to be brought to justice. He should spend time in each country for the crimes that he committed. I just wish his father was still alive to see what his actions/inactions have caused and to be prosecucted himself if he was involved. It would be nice to see the Holloway family get closure but this pathological liar cannot be trusted. Yes, cut him a deal, if he confesses to the murder of Holloway and give the location of her body. instead of giving him 35 years give him 30. It really won't matter, once he is put in general population he won't last very long.
Even if he tells where Natalie's remains are, it still does not guarantee a conviction in Aruba. He could get convicted of a lesser crime or claim self defense and get probation in Aruba. This is tough for Natalie's family. I am not sure if I would allow him to "work" the gov'ts if I were the Holloways. If he gets convicted in Peru, I think that would do Natalie more justice than if he goes to Aruba and gets treated like Royalty even if it is behind bars for a year or two. Natalie's soul is safe. I would want him to rot in a third world prison on behalf of Natalie and Stephanie than go to Aruba for Natalie. They both deserve this man to get the worst situation he can get. Keep him in Peru. He will walk in Aruba even if he gives up Natalie's remains.

I know how important it is to the Holloway family to find Natalee's body, but I hope Van Der Sloot isn't allowed to return to Aruba. I would rather know that he is out of his comfort zone in a Peruvian prison. I seriously doubt there are any remains of Natalee anyway. If she was dumped in the ocean, how would they retrieve any remains??? Van Der Sloot is lying as he has lied from the beginning. He is a wacko and needs to be kept away from other potential victims.

Does anyone know if Natalee had any cash on her the night she went missing? It is obvious that Joran van der Sloot killed Stepany for the money she had on her that he so desparately needed. Is that what Stephany's life meant to him, a few hundred dollars? Perhaps Natalee had a few hundred dollars on her the night she met Joran, do we know? I too have followed this case from the beginning in Aruba until today, my opinion is that Joran van der Sloot is nothing than a cold calculating murderer, premeditation all the way. Aruba will step in at an appropriate time, for now Peru must be allowed to do their job. To do so, will allow them to build a strong case against this vile person. The Holloway family will get their due, but they certainly wouldn't want mistakes made along the way just to speed things up. I watched the video that demonstrated the barbaric conditions of the Peruvian prison. It is most certainly a harsh and violent place and it does appear to be a hellish place, but that being said ....Van Der Sloot is just where he belongs: hell on earth. May he never walk free again.
On the most recent Nancy Grace show a I notice for the first time a piece of surveillance video showing Joran Van Der Sloot returning to his Lima hotel room with the coffee. It has answered my question as to what he was wearing when he went out for coffee. He has changed his clothing from the earlier video showing Joran and Stephany arriving at his hotel room. I believe he murdered her before going out for the coffee.
This is what I think happened. He is totally lying about the girl hitting him and that set him off. He's making that up to trick the cops from asking the real questions. He is trying to get off with murder in the act of rage kinda like insanity he was caught in the moment. All this is BS he told that girl what he did to Natalee or she got it out of him somehow. He then realized his mistake of admitting his previous crime so he killed the Peru girl. Now hes trying to say it was all in the act of rage. This guy is lying to hide the truth.
Unfortunately I checked the statue of limitations for wire fraud and looks like its only five years. So Joran can't be charged in the U.S. when he gets out if he gets out of Peru.

I'm tired of hearing about this story. It is said that these young girls lost their lives, BUT, they put themselves in this situation. I have a 22 year old daughter who I told she had to leave my home. My daughter starting bringing males home with her (or she was going with them) whom she would just meet and hold a few minutes of conversation. After having approximately three different males in my home (in one week), I told her she had to move out. These girls don't think nothing about leaving with guys (because their cute, or flash money, or talk a good conversation). Natalie Holloway "freely" left with Van Der Sloot. She wasn't drugged (at least not prior to leaving). Her friends states she walked out with him on her own will and got in the car. The other young lady who met him at the casino, video shows her "freely" leaving and walking down the street with him. She wasn't drugged either (at least not prior to leaving with him). Both females should have been "intelligent" enough to know not to leave with anybody they just met. This was simply poor judgement on their behalf. I hate it cost them their lives, but they should have been thinking. They didn't leave with him to go and bake cookies. They left with him for "other reasons". This is the big picture..........females need to think!!!!!!
Why and how can they even consider a lighter sentence or transferring Van Der Sloot to a different prison just because he is afraid for his life? He should be afraid, and deserves to live with that fear with what he has done. You can't just take a life or multiple lives and think that you are going to get away with it or be pampered when you do get caught. He committed unthinkable crimes against others and took their lives. Not only has he murdered these women, but he has destroyed multiple other lives of their family members. Van Der Sloot deserves to live the rest of his life in fear that someone will do the same to him.
Did Van der Sloot not realize the young lady he brutally murdered in Peru is from a well known, wealthy and influential family? Did I not hear somewhere that her father was involved in polictics in Peru and was also running for President of Peru at some time? I do not think he will be going anywhere but in that dreadful, awful prison...thank God. If I was Van der Sloot, I would be fearing for my life right about now and in whatever future he may have.

I don't think Joran EVER went out for coffee. Like others have said, he is seen leaving the room with two styrofoam coffee cups (looks like lids are on) and a pastry wrapped in clear packaging. Then, he appears to close the door, tap lightly in the air, close it definitely and test it and then pretends to knock on it again. I noticed this right away and posted earlier when Jean Casarez kept repeating her version and wondered why her reporting wasn't verified by the tape we were seeing over and over.
I thought maybe the cups were empty and he went to get the coffee in the lobby where there appears to be a coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator and tv. Casarez kept saying he went to a store. I don't think he even went to the lobby or if he did it just took a very few seconds as he is seen in the camera, looking at it and pretending to knock and then goes to get the clerk to open the door.
I wish the news would explain this and show the video in its entirety with a time line and if they can't, then they should explain why not.

Jean Casarez is reporting his same red shirt that had Stephanie's blood was hanging in his jail cell and I don't think so. The one in the cell would have evidence and appears to be a solid orange-red whereas the one he wore out of the hotel was red with black and white stripes!
Van der Sloot said that he hit Stephany once and threw her on the bed where "he thought she hit her head"......

Just to let you know everything you said about Joran Van der Sloot on your news show today were lies! I would suggest if your going to update people on current issues that it be accurate information your putting out for the public, because it is their right to know the truth! First off the reason why his room looks so "comfy" is because peruvian prisons dont supply prisoners with any nessecary living supply, the prisoners have to buy everything for themselves; it's not like American prisons where the entire population is supplied with the same things. Because the usual peruvian prisoner population are of low class they dont have the money to accomadate themselves with the nessecary living supply like shampoo, toothpaste, and so on. So for future reference do your research inorder to give correct information on the situation, and not exaggerate on the subject and make him look worse.

Why dies Nancy keep referring to the late Paulus Van der Sloot as a Judge? I know that the Dutchlegal and judicial system is different than that of the US, but in neither ours nor theirs was he ever a judge. The most I've ever seen was him being called a "judge-in-training"

Was anything mentioned that Stephanie's fingerprints were on Van Der Sloot's laptop computer? . If they are not, I would think that would be a big a big problem for him. He tells so many different stories. That sure would not match why he lost it.
