Cops Scour Vegas strip for missing California woman

Investigators are combing hotels and casinos along the Las Vegas strip in search of a 25-year-old Southern California woman who vanished after she was released from custody for not paying a bill for a meal.

Mitrice Richardson, a former beauty pageant contestant, was arrested last September at a restaurant in Malibu, California, because she did not have money to settle her check at Geoffrey’s, an upscale restaurant.

She was brought to the Lost Hills/Malibu sheriff’s station and was later released without her car, which held her purse and other belongings.

It was later discovered that Richardson may have had an episode of bipolar disorder. Mitrice’s mother, Latice Sutton, and her father, Michael Richardson, have both filed lawsuits against the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for its handling of her arrest and release.

Authorities are investigating reports of multiple sightings in Las Vegas. Richardson’s father says he saw Mitrice walking down a street but could not catch up to her and a former high school classmate says he saw her at a bar.

Misty Croslin's parents arrested!

Misty Croslin, the last person to see Haleigh Cummings alive, and her brother Tommy Croslin landed themselves in jail after getting caught up in a drug sting back in January. Now their parents, Lisa and Hank Croslin, have followed suit.

Lisa & Hank Croslin

The pair allegedly purchased $20 worth of crack cocaine from an undercover agent in Putnam County, Florida. Cops say shortly after making the deal, the Croslins were pulled over in a routine traffic stop. As officers approached, they say Hank, Sr. allegedly threw the drugs out the car window. His alleged plan to get rid of evidence failed miserably because the whole deal was under the surveillance of law enforcement. They are being held in Putnam County Jail on no bond since they were already in violation of probation. These recent arrests mean only one Croslin who has managed to stay out of trouble—Timmy. He up and moved his family out of the state about a year ago and hasn’t looked back. Now that all the Florida-based Croslins are behind bars, many are questioning if this was all part of a bigger plan to get information about the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings.

Watch, ring may help police identify 'Jane Doe'

(CNN) - Indiana farmer Maurice "Gene" Headley was driving his tractor to check out his corn and beans one day in September 1999 when he saw what he first thought was a deer carcass.

Police believe a body found in a farmer's field was that of a middle-aged woman
Police believe a body found in a farmer's field was that of a middle-aged woman

He stopped, got off the tractor and approached the remains, spotting a watch on the wrist of what he recognized as a human skeleton. Headley went to the authorities.

Nearly eleven years later, the body - believed to be that of a white or Hispanic woman, 40 to 50 years old and approximately 5 feet, 4 inches tall - is still an unidentified Jane Doe.

"We've checked every known missing person at that time and we just couldn't come up with anything," said Detective Harry Nix of the Indiana State Police.

Headley's farm was on the outskirts of Angola, a city of more than 7,000 about two miles from Interstate 69 in the northeast corner of Indiana.

The body lay on the grass for at least a month. It was a very hot and dry summer that year, Nix said. The skull was separated from the rest of the remains, most likely by animals. According to Nix, a fox den sat only about 50 feet from the body.

Despite the condition of the body, pathologists could tell it was that of a woman, based on the size of the pelvic bone. There was some hair on the skull, because it takes longer to decompose.

A bra was underneath the base of the skull, leading police to suspect that the woman had been strangled. But the body was so decomposed that the cause of death could not be proven beyond a doubt.

"Between the animals and the bug activity, the only thing that was left was bones, except for a piece of skin on a shoulder blade," said Nix. On that skin, he said, was a tattoo of a Pachuco cross, which has three rays coming out of the upper part.

The Clock is Ticking!

Lindsay Lohan’s New Life as Jailbird not Party Girl Just Hours Away

Lindsay Lohan is spending her final hours of freedom tweeting and reportedly hanging out at a West Hollywood sober-living house. The clock is ticking for Lohan who is required to report to court at 8:30am tomorrow morning before she’s expected to be transferred to the Century Regional Detention Facility where she’ll begin serving a 90 day sentence for violating probation.

Lohan will be kept in a private jail cell for her protection just like Paris Hilton when she did her stint at the same jail.

Although Lohan hired famed criminal defense attorney Robert Shapiro, who insists Lohan must serve her time, reports are the actress is in denial about going to jail. Is Lohan hoping for some miracle that the judge will let her stay in rehab? According to the timeline we’ve put together Lohan has a history of entering rehabs then falling off the wagon, racking up more DUI charges. Will treatment work this time? Lohan is still finding time to hang out with visitors, friends and family, and lash out on Twitter that she doesn’t want to be anywhere near her father. Cameras are scheduled to be in the courtroom when Lohan appears before the judge before heading over to the jail. Although Judge Marsha Revel finally brought down the hammer on Lohan, sternly sentencing her to jail, Judge Revel is not allowing cameras to capture the moment when bailiffs handcuff Lohan and take her into custody.
