Hilton’s Need for Lip Balm Leads to a Cocaine Possession Charge?
With her last major jail stint, involving DUI and probation violations, seemingly in her rearview mirror, it looks like Paris Hilton is in trouble again. This time the Hollywood socialite and star charged with cocaine possession. It all went down on the Vegas strip late Friday night where Hilton was hanging out with her nightclub mogul boyfriend, Cy Waits.
According to the arrest report, the couple was driving in Waits’ Cadillac Escalade when an officer pulled up next to them and smelled a strong odor of marijuana wafting from the SUV. Hilton and Waits were immediately pulled over. While Waits was arrested for driving under the influence, allegedly failing sobriety tests on the spot, Hilton asked to be taken inside the Wynn Hotel to avoid the cameras and the large crowd that was gathering. And in that moment of special celebrity treatment, Hilton found herself facing even more trouble.
While waiting safely inside the Wynn Hotel for a female officer to accompany her to a bathroom and her purse resting on a nearby table, Hilton told the male officer with her she needed to put on some lip balm. Yes, lip balm! When Hilton retrieves her purse and opens it, a bag of cocaine falls out in front of the cop. Also in the purse, Zig Zag “rolling” papers, $1,300 cash and credit cards, according to the police report. Hilton insisting all of those items do belong to her, but what she doesn’t claim belongs to her is the purse and the cocaine. That’s right, Hilton says she borrowed the purse from a friend and had no idea where the cocaine came from. Hilton is facing a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and has been released on her own recognizance. Her arraignment is set for October 27 in Clark County District Court.
