This is a very intriguing case. I find it hard to believe the family doesn't know something. As I recall from a book written by someone previously involved in the investigation:

    * there were no footprints in the snow around windows
    * there was no sign of forced-entry
    * tests showed that the rambling, multi-page "ransom" note found on the stairway was written on paper from a pad in the house using a house pen
    * the mother, a very fastidious dresser, was wearing the same clothes she had on the previous night at a party
    * the father found the dead child in a remote room of the basement that was somehow missed during the search

I hope this little girl finally gets justice. Hard to imagine she would be 20 now...

Frankly I have always though he was the one who killed her and the parents covered for him.

Soon after the death of JonBenet – there was the arrest and subsequent incarceration of several people from the Charlevoix Michigan area - for trading their children for sex.
I don't know if the Ramseys were part of it- or if JonBenet (who won a beauty pageant there) was seen by these or other pedophiles- but I really wish the matter was looked into.
This is a huge loose end that may have been a part of her death; or perhaps why her brother is in the situation he is in.

Miss Nancy, remember how Elizabeth Smart's sister recalled the man who took her sister months later. Hopefully the same will happen with Jon-Bennet's brother. Jill

    Hi Nancy,
Tried to no avail to reach you by phone re: JonBenet Ramsey. I
distincly remember when Patsy made the phone call to the police
saying that she found a note on the stairs and her daughter was
issing. She didn't hang up the phone properly and Burke was
heard in the background asking "what did you find?" and his
father replied back in a very stern voice "you, we're not talking to!"
Afterwards, Patsy claimed that Burke slept through everything,
including the phone call to the police! If Burke did have anything to
do with the murder, that would be the only reason that the parents
would stick together to protect their surviving son. If one of the
parents had anything to do with it, I don't think that they would cover
    for each other.

To me, her parents were always the culprits. Perhaps not in the sense that the DNA proved, but from a moral standpoint. Who in their right mind parades a tiny child in from of the world decked out as a prostitute.... actually flaunting the baby daughter in front of any child molester that wants to pick a new target. I may be a little "old school" but I have always believed that you teach your young girls to respect themselves, NOT to FLAUNT themselves to the public. The women who participate in this type of legal child pornography bring disaster to their own families, so using the concept her parents had her murdered by their disrespect for this inocent littly girl. A true historic tragic story. It should be a warning to all these "Tots and Tierras" people that making a whorish spectical of an child is on them.

I hope Bruke can tell something new to help solve this case. I was a little girl when she was murder. I've wounder why the police didn't do more to solve or put the person that murder her behind bars.

As a mother and a grandmother when you invite people to your home for a special celebration, you believe that you are inviting honest, upstanding, decent people. It has to be the most heart breaking thing to know that yu invited and trususted someone who would commit such a horrible crime to a child, your child. JonBonets' parents will forever have to live with the fact that someone they trusted and invited to their home raped and killes their little 6 year old daughter. How horrible for a parent to have to lice with this for the rest opf their live. My heart goes out to them, I can't even begin to imagine how they must feel. Even though they did not commit this crime, they must live with the fact that they opened their home to someone who did.

I believe an 11 year old boy killed JonBenet. Hopefully, this new investigation with JonBenet's brother will lead to an arrest. It may
have been one of his friends or a boy in the neighborhood.

I've always been almost positive that Burke Ramsey killed his sister.
from the time I saw a clip of him the day of JonBenet's funeral walking with his cousin. He was grinning & flailing his arms wildly (check out the tape)-very odd behavior. It was a sharp & chilling reminder to me of my extremely jealous half-brother as a child. And didn't he have every reason to be jealous of his obviously doted upon little sister, who'd just won a beauty contest & was the center of attention? Then there was the ransom note that the police repeatedly questioned as possibly being written by Patsy Ramsey. I can't think of a better motive for her writing it than to divert attention away from her son. Then there's the recording of Burke's voice in the background of a phone call when it was stated that he was sleeping.

I have always believed that someone in the family killed her. I think it might have been Burke but the parents did everything they could to protect him. When if they would have just come clean he would have gotten the help he so desperatly needed. They didn't do anything to help him. They should have given their daughter the respect of getting her brother the help he needed. This story has always made me sad.

I now believe the cops have interviewed the murderer of Jon Benet, which is Burke Ramsey! I believe this beautiful child's death was the result of Burke playing "doctor" with his little sister and experimenting with budding sexual play (noted: no semen found for a child his age) when things got out of hand and too rough for Jon Benet to stand (noted: strangulation with garrote more than once). A 9-year-old boy can swing a golf club with more then enough strength to murder a 6-year-old child and I believe Burke was more than capable of swinging that gold club and in fact did swing it. I believe Patsy and John wrote the ransom note and the whole cover-up of the crime to keep from losing another child. I have always believed Burke was the "killer" of Jon Benet and doubt there is anything that would convince me otherwise.

i also remember this case very well, and i think that justice should be served to this very beutifull little girl..i think that her older brother is guilty and this case should have never went cold. if her parents did cover up there sons horrific crime what would they teach live with this for the rest of his life on his consance..he should be a man now and come clean for what he did or what he saw..

Didn't they get any DNA from her when they did an autopsy?? It seems to me that since it "appears" that is was done by someone in the home due to no forced entry or foot prints in the snow that since she was sexually assaulted that they would have the "killers" DNA on something?? That is the one thing that has always bothered me. Am I missing something here?

    October 3, 2010 at 2:23 am

I fine it hard to think that no one knows what happen to this child. she was in her home. the mother carried this to her grave of what happen to this child. The father knows and they will get his sick ass.

Nancy, if i recall correctly, Burke Ramsey was eleven years old at the time of his sister's murder. i always wondered why he was not brought to the front as a possible suspect, especially if the mother wrote the ransom note. she was covering up for her son of the unthinkable. sibling jealousy can lead to tragedy many times.

The only scenario in this case that has ever made any sense to me is that the older brother was jealous of his sister and for some reason went into a rage and killed her. The parents staged an elaborate coverup to protect their son...with the evidence at hand, it is the only story that makes sense....that is why the police are revisiting him now.

Burke, John and Patsy Ramsey have all been cleared. LE are only interviewing Burke because they believe he might be a witness not a suspect. IMO they need to look closer at Rod Westmoreland, John's financial advisor. He knew how much John's bonus was, he was in the military (garote), knots used, he was in the "Fat Cat" club referenced in the ransome note and showed up unannounced the day they found her body. Since they have DNA they should test Rod's DNA to see if it's a match. I do not believe a 9 year old would be strong enough to strangle Jon Benet and use a stun gun which they also believe made the marks on her body.

My opinion is based on all that I have read on this case. And it is an opinion. They also found a boot print outside the basement window. There is no way that Burke, a 9 year old at the time could have done this crime. You all need to look at the crime scene photos and read about the evidence including the ransom note.

The family members have been cleared. They are interviewing Burke because they think he may have been a witness not a suspect. There is no way that Burke could have committed this murder. You all need to read up on this case, read the autopsy report and see the photos. He was only 9 when this happened. They need to look at John's financial advisor in GA. He knew what John's bonus was, was in the military (garote, knots). There was also a stun gun involved. They also found a boot print outside. There was no snow around the basement so how could there be any footprints in the snow? There are numerous websites that have all the information on this case. JMO

I have just lately read the ransom note found in the Ramsey's home. My gut feeling tells me it was written by Patsy. The circumstances and findings in the case point to her. A statement she made before she died of cancer was that horizontal lines on prison uniforms would have made her look fat.....a weird remark from a woman who has become skin and bones. The DNA clearing is not scientifically acceptable. In my opinion, no body investigated was or is in the clear. That case has NOT been solved and the family members should have something to say...unless they are guilty.

There are a number of things that make me suspect her nine-year old brother did it and the parents covered it up. There are disparate elements here, like the odd choice of a diminutive "hobby" paintbrush, and the weird combination of snarky but not overly vulgar sarcasm in the note and the knowledge of the family's matters in the note that would be things most likely preoccupying the parents the most prior to the murder and hence come into their minds first when under incredible stress to fabricate a note, and the fussy knot.

The note sounds contrived, like a polite-society but competitive woman's idea of what a criminal would sound like. Somehow, the upper-middle class thought patterns are still there underneath the disguise. The handwriting looks like it was written by the left hand of a left-handed person or vice versa.

The scene really seems like a collaboration between a man and a woman. Being a second home, it may be that only the son was aware of the little basement room, since kids that age explore for things like that.

Also, the dynamics between a pampered little girl and an older first-born boy must have been tenuous. I find it hard to believe that Mother's lavish primping, scheduling fussing and treating the little girl as an object did not grate on the boy's nerves.

An 11 year old boy killed JonBenet and the best person to know who he is, is Burke. It can take many years for your mind to acknowledge facts and events that your mind blocked out. Look what happened
in the case of Elizabeth Smart. It took a long time for her sister to
acknowledge that she knew (or highly suspected) who took Elizabeth. It could take a life time. At least someone is still trying to solve this case. Maybe this time they will. And it's not Burke.

I have followed this case from the start...there are so many questions that there are no answers for. I know that Burke is being sought out as a witness and not a suspect....but who initiated interviewing him all of a sudden?? I have always wondered about Burke and if the parents snapped from sheer terror and did everything they could to cover up the fact that he may have something to do with Jon Benet's death. The image and outward appearance of a loving family was crucial to the Ramseys. Is there ANY DNA left from the crime scene? Has it been tested periodically over the years to see if there is a match for anyone? What about exumation of Jon Benet's body? What became of the house in Denver? Was it sold? How long was it vacant for? Something hasn't been right for years-and it may not ever be right. Pathetic.

I really can't believe an 11 yr. old boy could have bound & strangled a child the way Jon Benet was. This was not a case of boy scout knots!! It's obvious the killer knew the family & their habits well. Plus was familiar with the house, so he knew where to hide the body to delay discovery for as long as possible. The investigation was hampered by the belief that the mother was guilty & all efforts were devoted to proving their case. This whole case is such a tragedy, & her mother died not knowing who murdered her little girl. The killer not only slew Jon Benet, but almost destroyed her family as well.

Guess no one reads " Two years ago, the district attorney said that new DNA testing methods had cleared all family members of suspicion." I have always thought it was the old man that lived next door.... She was with him alot and seemed wiered that for years she was getting pap smears?? It makes sense if Burke killed JonBenet accidentally or on purpose by hitting her in the head (or even if Patsy did it in a rage), that the sexual assault/strangulation would have been staged afterward to protect John if he (or Burke) had been sexually abusing JonBenet and the family knew it would show in the autopsy if they did not make it look like it had just happened. I also wonder if John's rush to get the family to Atlanta immediately after JonBenet's death was because it would be easier and quicker to escape U.S. jurisdiction from there, depending upon what turn the investigation took. It seems all too obvious that the only reason for the parents to initially refuse polygraph tests was (1) one of the family members did it; or (2) there was pre-existing sexual abuse which they feared would be revealed during a polygraph, even if none of them were guilty of the murder. There just doesn't seem to be any other conclusion I can think of.

I have always believed it was someone that knew the family and was possibly waiting in the house for them to get home and he killed the little girl after everyone went to bed. I don't believe the brother did it, and DNA excluded all the family members. I never heard that Patsy wrote the letter??? But I do believe it was someone who knew the family because they came home that night from a Christmas party.

In a way- i don't think burke did it just because he wouldn't have known to hide her, i mean maybe i'm wrong but i think the person who killed her knew exactly what they were doing and it wasn't an accident. and if her brother killed her do u think that he would have a "normal life" even if he didn't confess, i mean honestly u have to be a sick person to kill someone and definitely sick to be that age and kill ur own sister so im sure he'd have some psychological disorder but i could be wrong. it just doesn't make sense.
but i do think it was someone close to her or the family. i think the DNA they found wasn't the killer. the killer had to be someone who knew the house pretty well in order to "hide" her in a closed off room. that's why you can't outrule the family because someone is hiding something, and i think if the police would have done a better job investigating the crime scene and not letting anyone and everyone at the ramsey house they would already have the murder solved. too much evidence was destroyed when the father removed her from the room. if they house was sealed off the moment she went missed and searched like it should have been jonbenet ramsey would have justice.
