CNN sources say a medical report by George Zimmerman's family doctor allegedly shows he suffered a broken nose, two black eyes and two lacerations to the back of his head after he shot & killed Trayvon Martin. What will this mean for his defense?
Whether it was a hoax or an actual ad, a Craigslist posting, allegedly by a Colorado mom who may have tried to give away her newborn baby on the site is alarming, and police are taking it as a potentially serious threat to a child.
The Colorado Springs Police Department reportedly says Craigslist contacted them about the ad and authorities are trying to locate the mom and her boyfriend to find out more, including whether the baby in question actually exists.
The disturbing ad said someone needs to take the baby or it would die in a garbage container.
Police stress that the state’s Safe Haven Law would let the couple bring the child to any firehouse or hospital emergency room, rather than do something as drastic and illegal as give the baby away on Craigslist.

I was wanting to comment about the toddler who was taped to the wall by his doped-up mom and dad. If this article is put on blog please email me so I can comment, This one about the mom putting her child on craigslist is either mentally challenged or heartless. No child deserves to be treated like this. If she didn't want the child that much, there are many families that would adopt the baby from her. Children are and will always be a BLESSING FROM GOD. I know because I have two beautiful adults and one beautiful teenager and I thank God everyday for them. This woman needs help and is truly crying out for some. Family please help her out!!
I am so tired of all the abuse that is done to children and the tot taped to the wall with duct tape makes me sick. My question is when will we stop the abuse as a society we need to stop returning children back to the abusers. Why should a child have to be given back to abusers

I hope and pray that if there is a baby that its found alive. There are Safe Havens everywhere. Its just sad to see what people are capable of. And if there is no baby I hope that they find the person who posted the ad and put them in jail. What a sick thing for someone to do.
I think, if this is a joke – I think they are as stupid as stupid can get. Sadly, that well is bottomless. But if it's real, this add sounds almost like a desperate plea from a young girl that just wants to save her baby. What if this kid is only 13, pregnant, kicked out of her house and having an abusive bofriend, which wouldn't be uncommon in a household where a young girl can get kicked out for being pregnant. That is pretty traumatic. What if she's scared and hopelessly desperate? Then, again – why, if she has access to the internet, she doesn't contact authorities the same way. This could go in so many directions, I just don't see how (if it is a hopeless young girl) this is going to help this girl by crushing her more (by trashing her)? We could handle this one a little differently. This one scares me, which surprises me – It really to me feels, like a desperate girl. Which also makes me more willing to believe it's a hoax. I am not normally sensitive to child neglecters, abusers, etc – (All Inclusive) . For the Record: The stupid bitch who found drugs and an abusive boyfriend more important than her son and TAPED HIM TO A WALL!! She deserves so much more than 10 days, should be locked right next to her jackass man that she chose!!! Just sayin....
I think this new mother learned from her parents that when the going gets tough ... toss the problem. I don't know what lesson her parents thought their daughter would learn by being kicked out when her hormones are going 'crazy' by being pregnant. I know you are angry at this girl, but hey don't forget to look at the grandparents in this situation. Especially, if the girl is underage. She should know better ... should. Please remember that you were an adult with a husband, job and financial security when you were blessed with two beautiful children.
Hi Nancy, I am watching your show right now and the article about the Craigslist dumpster baby. You mentioned that a photo with placenta was included with the ad. I am wondering if there is a GPS code on that photo that is traceable to where the photo was taken.
I was watching a tech show just the other day where they talked about how it is important to be careful what photos you post on the Internet. When a photo is taken on one of the new types of cell phones there is a GPS code attached to the photo so a tech-savvy person on the Internet can unbury the code and locate, for example, where you took the photo of your child within 6 feet.

Regarding the baby born to the young mother who put an ad on 'Craig's List' – I do hope the Police are checking hospitals as it seems evident from the picture shown that the baby is in a hospital basinette that newborn babies are placed in and it looks like a nurse with a white jacket is placing the baby there. All area hospitals should be checked out.
I enjoy watching your show very much. Some very important issues are brought to light.

I'm still trying to phathom how a woman can give BIRTH and while the child is still covered with placenta, can get up on a chair to the computer, turn it on, hook up to the internet, get on craiglist and advertise this faster than dialing 911.
When I gave birth to my children getting up into a chair and playing on the computer (had not been invented yet) would have been the last thing on my mind. something just isn't fitting into place here with this story. I think someone is playing a cruel and sick game and calling wolf tomany times usually gets you eaten by that wolf. I'm praying this is not a true case.
If It is true they don't deserve jail or nothing. They deserve to die. The stupid low life girl and the low life "bf"
Wow, I have a 9 month old little boy and a little girl on the way and i could never ever imagine doing that to my son or daughter. There is no way they are right in their minds! i really hope they are found and that baby is safe!
I am also a teenage mother who was homeless untill i was 6m pregnant so i can sypathize with the stress but there is no excuse for this! the safe haven law is very clear with places they could have brought this child with not a single repercussion. use ur brain lady! if u changed ur mind or brought the baby somewhere safe atleast post it or tell someone!...shocked in north adams!!!

I pray this is a hoax. This is awful and very sad. I'm the mother of a 17 month old girl, and as much as it can (especially in the beginning when a baby cries - the "purple period") very frustrating & tiring, I'd never dream of just giving a baby away. Hello, legal adoption, the correct & safe way. PLEASE think and make a child's health & safety FIRST.
I don't know what's more disturbing the fact that a mother who is supposed to have a bond with her new baby would make threats against the baby to get rid of it, or the fact that if the eagerness is so apparent... is the child eating or drinking... is it warm and cared for? Let's hope they find these people and put this child in the hands of someone who will care for it and love it.
I am a mother to 10 mnth old daughter. I would gladly taken this child as my own and care for him/her as a mother should. Babies are so precious to me . I do hope that this is just an hoax for the sake of the baby. Not everyone should be allowed to have kids.
i hope they find them and get her fixed. if there really is a baby that we get the baby in a safe home. it is so sad that children suffer everyday due to parents that should never be a parent. we need tougher laws on child abuse and people need to report it and not let it go.
As for the picture with placenta on the baby.. The white stuff on the baby is part of the amniotic fluid, not placenta, unless it was red and looked like a peice of meat! Poor baby, let's stop hounding on the mom, she was asking for help!
This is so sick! I have a 6mth old son and I can not see how anyone can harm a child. Children are supposed to be protected by thier parents, not dropped in a dumpster or ducted taped to a wall. I don't care how high you are on weed, that is not an escuse to torment your kid! I can't help but cry for these children. My sister and her husband have been trying desperately for years to have kids and can't but yet sickos like these people can have them, it's just not right!!!! I need to stop reading the news...I can't take it anymore. All those kids, neglected and abused. They didn't asked to be brought into this world, but since they were, parents need to step up and be thier protecters. Give the children to a church, do something. This needs to stop! I can't believe someone can do that...maybe we should be like China and give out permission slips to people before they are allowed to have kids, after an extensive mental evaluation! oh, and when my son was a newborn I could not sleep for weeks. the baby stayed with me in my room. I had to make sure he was alright. I was so paranoid about crib death I woke up every hour or didn't sleep weeks after. He is my miracle...my heart, my soul. Mandatory birth control should be put in motion!!!!!! Save the children!!!!!! The parents who can do this, I just wish I could have 1 minute with them, just one.
If this picure was taken in the hospital, it could be the father of the child and not the mother who did this. After having a baby, usually the mom gets some sleep. on another note: Every crack whore and drug abuser who has abused a child should be made to get a vasectomy or hysterectomy. Why didn't she take the baby to a safe haven? They don't question you or anything but safely take your child. Then the child is taken care of. I understand that it is stressful to be a new parent but don't take it out on the child. They didn't ask for this life. If you cannot be responsible for them then give them to someone who can. Hopefully this isn't real and only a hoax but if it is a hoax it's cruel
I am gladly a mother to an 11 month old little girl, I would do anything to take this child in or to help this child find a safe place to go! This abuse involving children has got to stop! I don't get why they could go around the school and question the school officials or go to the hospital to see if a young mother came in after delivering the baby to narrow their search down! It is October 8...are there ANY new updates on this case? I am searching the web and finding nothing. I realize while investigating, there must be acre taken in the release of information, but unfortunately, this is another one of those stories we need to know more about what is going on. If this is not a hoax, I am very concerned about this baby and the young mother.
We cannot assume anything as we do not know the full story and the circumstances surrounding it. Yes, it was a stupid thing to do, but this confirms the comprehension of a person in a situation such as this. If true...this girl is in need of some help. Please do not judge without knowing.

Some parenyts these days. I just don't understand. I can't go a single day without hugging or kissing my precious baby. And these young mothers are killing theirs. They really need to start thinking about their actions before they do the "deed." It makes me sick. And what are these girls getting out of all this? Almost a slap on the wrist. There are couples out there that can't have kids. I just don't understand. Can the ad on craigslist be tracked?? If so why has it not been done??
What I am wondering is if this mother didn't want the child, why did she have it in the first place?? Something isn't right here and I'll bet the father put her up to placing the ad or did it himself. Most women or young girls who do not want children have an abortion or set up an adoption ahead of time. She did not even have to bring this baby home in the first place or take it to a safe haven, all she had to do is tell the hospital she didn't want it and they would of arranged a foster care through Social Services. Things just don't add up...
I am extremely disgusted by this story as well as all the other child abuse headlines. I can't think of anything to do but pray for these people. At the age of 25, I have been blessed in my life with three beautiful children, one who is in heaven watching over us, and they are my motivation for success. I can't begin to understand why a mother could even have a thought to harm her children. Child abuse is taken too lightly in this country and these parents deserve to have the book thrown at them.

Hi Nancy... it is now Oct 19th and I have desperately been trying to find out what happened to the craigs list baby in Colorado Springs, CO?? I've even called the CPD there several times and either they can't or won't tell me. Can you or anyone out there find out and let me know? PLEASE!!! I did not get the feeling on this one that is was a hoax. My son would have turned 4 this year. It saddens me so deeply that the mother does not comprehend what a special blessing she has been given and blessed with. Tears flow. I, as well as many others, would cherish, honor, and love him or her for all of our lives. Thank you Nancy, for being the voice for many, many children of all ages.
This is why abortion should be legal. All those people who say "Oh but people should just keep having babies, there are always families who want them" NO THERE ARENT! thats why foster care is so over burdened and littered with pedophiles and other abusive people. No body wants these children which is sad. This is crazy! What is wrong with people these days?! I dont believe in god, but I still have morals. I have a wonderful daughter who is 19 months, and it saddens me that people can do these things. This story just made me sick! I feel for the girl if she really was in the situation she said she was but at the same time this is 2010!! How do you not know about the safe havaen law? If you've EVER walked into a hospital you have seen the signs they have about it. I have a hard time believing that not one person she knew told her about this law. Also I tend to side with logicalchris, these so called women that kill or abuse their children or have them taken away and given back multiple times should be court ordered to be sterilized!!! Also Carrie, I totally understand. My daughter has lost all three of her children and was told she should not take the chance of getting pregnant due to pre term labor(she had each one at 24 weeks) I would gladly take that little baby to love and call my grandchild or child as im sure you would.

We had someone actually put a newborn baby in the garbage here in Emporia Kansas so they better get on that. The baby was put in a bag to die but some workers found it and saved it's life. The mother is now in jail waiting for her penalty. There is way to many people out there that would love to have a baby but the good people that are looking to adopt do not look on Craigslist.
