Authorities have confirmed that a body found in a barrel on property linked to a convicted rapist is that of a missing 16-year-old girl.
Angela Allen was identified through dental records and her cause of death was determined to be strangulation, according to an arrest affidavit for Lloyd C. Jones. Jones, a 36-year-old sex offender convicted of raping his wife in 2001, is accused of killing Allen after the two met through the social networking site www.Mbuzzy.com.
Allen was reported missing on Feb. 11. She had walked out of her grandmother’s home after an argument the previous night and never returned.
According to a search warrant affidavit, police were led to Jones after discovering text message communications on Allen’s cell phone. Using Jones’ phone number, they tracked him back to his profile on the Mbuzzy site. They discovered that he was a level 3 sex offender and made contact with him.
When confronted by investigators, Jones allegedly admitted to picking Allen up from a parking lot on Feb. 10 and said he decided not to take her home because the two girlfriends he lived with might not like it. According to Jones, the affidavit states, he then took her to an area along the Arkansas River known as Mud Town Bottoms.
Jones claimed they started to make out there, but he said he became angry when he found out she was only 16, so he struck her in the chest, she fell into the water and he left her there, according to court documents. The autopsy showed no water in her lungs, though.
Police were directed to a property outside Lavaca owned by Jones’ brother by his girlfriend, who said he was building a shed there. The brother gave them consent to search and a cadaver dog indicated the scent of human remains. Officers uncovered a blue 55-gallon plastic barrel in a shallow grave and were able to see what they believed were a pair of shoes and a human hand inside.
While Jones was being held in the county jail on suspicion of aggravated assault on Feb. 19, he was visited by his father. During the visit, which was recorded, Jones allegedly said “Did they find her?” and “I panicked—I did it.”
Jones pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder Wednesday and his bond was set at $1 million.

I'm so sorry for the loss it was looks like tthis child was exchanging emails etc by the pictures that have been shown- Grandparents and parents need to be aware of their childrens computer use .Too many are falling thru the cracks and are open game for predators
You have to go deeper then this. Most of these girls are vunerable and need someone to listen and believe in them. Please remember, these men have always been there – waiting in the shadows. These girls keep these things secret and I'm pretty sure the offenders give them tips on how to keep things quiet and hide photos and emails, etc., to ensure prying parents do not find out. Parents, guardians, big brothers and sisters – you need to spend time with these young ones. Let them talk to you, take them out – and basically give them time to let you know how things are with them. It's not about you – it IS about them. Ensure they know they matter.
This is a outrage. My heart so goes out to this family. I cant understand why in the world the system keeps letting these sex offenders walk the street Now again another beautiful girl is dead at the hands of a sick disgusting not even going to call him a human he is a MONSTER!!!!!!!!!! thing. I have a 15 year old daughter and she gets so upset with me because she says i am to over protective. This is the prime example of why I am. It is so scary the amount of these people that walk among us. There has got to be stiffer laws with these people. Prayers and thoughts to the family of there beautiful teenage daughter that was taken so horrible from them.
obviously guilty, he should be tried, tortured, and hung within the next 30 days... Unfortunately... instead... we have a corrupt Judicial System that is more bent on people making money of such a thing than providing the proper justice. So they make their money, and in the end.. we the TaxPayer.. foot the bill for this POS to live out the rest of his life in custody of the Penal System. Think the Country is broke yet?
What was she thinking in getting involved with a male his age? Have the young people gone nuts...when I was her age I would have thought it GROSS to even consider going out with, let alone have sex, a guy his age.
You're assuming that she consented to sex. You are also assuming that she knew his age. Remember–they were talking over the internet. And we all know that NOBODY ever lies on their internet profiles....

This is not a person. This is a very sick and twisted human being that has no emotions. Lacks empahy. Lacks everything that makes people good people. I would hate to even being to try to comprehrend this human being. How can anyone be so mean?
This persons poor parents. How do you live with yourself, knowing that the child that you raised turned out to be this monster? I am just thankful that I am not his parents. I feel bad for his parents.
Sometimes people are just wired differently than most. And it is not the parents fault. So my heart goes out to his parents. As well as to all parents who tried to raise their children to the best of their abilities. Then something like his happens. I feel for the families that these monster destroy. The families did not ask for these things to happen. I feel for both sides of the tradegy. The Victims of course. As well as the predators families.
This sickens me. To read a teens life cut short by a man who had no self control. He needs to pay for the pain her family is feeling right now. It's so sad because she was so beautiful and had such a bright future. She could have been a vet, or a child psyciatrist, a grammer school teacher. But becuase of this man....her future was cut short. I'm saddened and scared. As a dad and an uncle it scares the crap out of me knowing thier are sick men out there. And they give us good guys a bad rap.
Or she could have been the lawmaker that actually succeeds in getting monsters like this off the streets for good!! So sad.

You are an idiot – America isn't the only country with a broken penal system or the only country with a history of paroling or releasing sex offenders. It happens in many places. You are likely an American, making dumb claims about the very justice system you helped build up and support; something you also apparently know very, very little about.
When you start your statement off with generalizations that can't be backed up with facts the entire rest of your post becomes ridiculous.
We let people like this free because jails need more space for drug offenders and nonviolent criminals. That is exactly why the judicial system is off track. Judges care more about putting weed-smokers in jail than any violent/crazy individuals.
First off, if you think this happens only in America, that's probably a good indicator of how familiar you are with the rest of the world. Do you even realize that we have the most incarcerated society on the face of this planet? If you think it's easy to get bailed out or walk from prison early here, try living somewhere else. Lastly, taking the law into your own hand will ultimately lead to more hate, violence and depravity in this world.
Men who kill teenage girls need to be severely penalized , maybe then the killings will stop.

Unfortunately, the imperfection of the justice system leaves us no choice but to take defensive measures against people like Jones. People like him prey on the vulnerability of young females who sometimes want to feel special to someone.
This is why she would of taken to him easily during communication, regardless of his age. He would of said all the right words. It can be extremely difficult for a parent to make their children understand the risks, since most teens believe they know what they are doing and you are wrong. Many teens these days are not as "streetwise" as we were in our generation. Protecting them from the "monsters" out there is a full time job in itself. Even though some places still have, and use, the death penalty, it does not deter these monsters. They still go on killing.
Sad part of this situation is this man will live off us, hard working tax payers. He will eat for free, watch tv for free, lift weights and read books for free.........sitting behind bars is not a punishment. Why are we not making criminals behind bars have to pay for their keep. Why do we pay? you cannot tell me that we cannot create a program to make all the guys behind bars work for their food, their electricity, water, the cable that is provided in jail. Why are we footing the bill as taxpayers. He made a bad decision and not only does the family of the victim have to pay but we do as well. What is wrong with our society?
I was going to make a reply to this nature but you've seem to be ahead on the topic. I agree, 100%. $90,000 per year per inmate on death row. With California’s current death row population of 670, that accounts for $63.3 million annually. ALL OUR MONEY. I think prisoners should work on state requlated farms, within or beside the prisons, growing crops to supply themselves with food; they can, in turn, sell some of their product to provide water and electricity. Think of the possibilites America could conspire with the taxes that 2 million inmates steal from us every year. Infrastructure, education; the choices are mind-boggling. Call me old-fashioned, but a .45 shell costs roughly 40 cents...
I try not to think about it often, but when I do, it totally makes me sick to my stomach. We have so many broken systems and sometimes our judicial system is one of them. I found it odd that another poster mentioned that those in jail should work for their own keep – I so very much agree. I mean there are far worse sentences than "free" room and board, laundry services, everything you need and even some you don't (cable tv, internet, libraries, weightrooms, etc.) provided for your use. I mean look around – we have homeless people and cold and hungry children that have far less than the murderes and theives will have as we keep them warm at night by keeping the bills paid for them. This story is so sad on many sides. A child is gone, a family is broken and a repeat offender will go back to jail..for how long this time? I don't know if you have ever looked at it this way or not – but – the family of this child (who will look at her pictures and retrace their memories in sadness and tears) will also be paying their part to keep this person comfortable for as long as he's in the JUSTICE system...hummm...I think we need to name it something else – that name just doesn't fit in this case.
Diddo on many of the above comments in this sad, sad case. It seems everyday we hear much the same type of stories in the past years. The American penal system/justice system is SO broken. Until the day comes that these animals are put away in a cement room to rot, these types of cases will continue to happen. Prayers for this beautiful girl. Parents/grands, PLEASE keep your children safe and in your care. The internet is great, but not for children...not when these predators can so easily get to them! Keep your children supervised at all times....never turn your back on little ones or even your teens!
Communicate with you children is key. Block all sites, and make them ask for permission if they want a site to be unblocked. If they call you "paranoid", so be it. If they call you "mean", so be it. They'll thank you later.
Btw: I hope this guy will be put in a barrel where he can stay to rot. You can pack a few barrel in one jail cell. How's that for a jail-space saving solution?
Give the dude the death sentence and don't wait 20 years to do it, do it immediately.
I am truly sadden by this report. I would like to to know how many times this repeat offender got out of jail. Why do they continuely allow them freedom knowing that many times these sexual offenders get more and more dangerous. Our justice system will lock him away,if the rest of us are lucky. But then we have to spend our tax dollars on one more child killer so he can watch tv,work out and get educated, dying at a nice old age with good health care and and a warm bed each night. How many of us hard working tax payers can say they can really afford health care? I think they need to expedite his final days. Its not like the world is really losing someone who could do good in our society.
How long does this have to go on. It is quite obvious that our system is way too easy on our sexual predators of society. When are we going to start learning that these people are not to be set free. This keep happening over and over again and yet the system keeps giving them chances. I really do not know how Mark Klauss keeps fighting the fight. It is very discouraging to see a system that keeps failing our women and children.
